MemberIt’s fine for kids but I wouldn’t expect it to be some kind of miracle tool. You still have to be patient and actually watch what you’re doing. Works better for small nails than I thought, but it’s not faster than just doing it normally.

MemberFirst time I flipped mine to heat it did the same thing. Smelled like the inside of an old vacuum bag for a bit. I figured it was just dust that settled on the heating element while it sat in storage or whatever.
It went away after the second or third use for me. Hasn’t come back since. If it’s a brand new unit, there’s also that “new appliance” smell that can linger for a bit. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it starts smelling like burning plastic or something actually acrid. That would be a different story.
As long as it clears up after a few cycles, I’d just run it and not think about it. Mine’s been fine for a couple months now.

Member15 minutes sounds like enough for blowing off a deck. I think you’d have to be pretty slow for it to be an issue.

MemberIt’s just a bit heavy for long sessions. I don’t think you really get used to it, I just do shorter bursts.

MemberGuess that answers it. The heat is barely there for me too but if other people notice it more in a cold room then I guess it’s not broken. Whatever, the traction is what I bought it for anyway.

MemberI’d probably wait until the braces are off. The mouthguard needs to fit snugly and brackets will just get in the way or make it uncomfortable. Not worth the hassle.

MemberIt’s single stage, so it’ll probably work fine for light oxidation. I wouldn’t expect a miracle, but it’s not going to wreck the paint.
