I’ve got an old classic car with single stage paint and I’m wondering if the NanoPolix would work on it or if it’s more for clear coat stuff. Don’t want to mess it up but I have some light oxidation I’d like to clean up without going too crazy.

I’ve used it on single stage paint and it worked fine for the light oxidation I had, but honestly I didn’t think it did much more than a regular microfiber and some elbow grease. I’d probably just stick with a basic polish if you’re not trying to overthink it.

Huh, I’ve been wondering the same thing about my old pickup. It’s got single stage paint that’s kind of faded on the hood. I think it should be fine for light oxidation. I wouldn’t worry too much about messing it up if you test a small spot first.

I gave it a try on my old single stage paint and it worked fine for light oxidation. Just make sure the surface is clean before you start. It won’t fix anything deep but for minor stuff it’s worth a shot.

Single stage paint is usually more porous so it can absorb these kind of products differently than clear coat. I’d just do a tiny test spot on a fender or something before going over the whole car.

Never really had an issue with single stage and this kind of cloth. Works fine for taking the haze off. Just don’t expect it to fix anything deeper than that.

I think people overthink the single stage thing a bit. I used mine on an old truck with single stage and it did a decent job with the haze. Not totally sure it’s doing anything special but it didn’t hurt anything either. Seems fine for light oxidation.

I think it probably depends more on how bad the oxidation is than whether it’s single stage or clear coat. Light stuff might come off okay, heavier oxidation might not budge. Not totally sure it’s worth stressing over too much.

Huh, good to hear it worked out for some of you. I ended up just going for it on a small spot behind the license plate and it cleaned things up without any drama. The paint is old enough to drink, so I was a bit nervous, but it seems fine. Appreciate the push to just try it, thread solved for me.
