Wire heads do work on moss but they leave scratch marks on the concrete if you press too hard. I borrowed one from a neighbor and got the green off my patio, though it took a couple passes on the stubborn bits. Not sure I’d buy my own for that job alone.
Those numbers are usually with ANC off and volume around half, so real use is gonna be lower. I get closer to maybe 30 something with canceling on. Still not bad if the price is right, but I wouldn’t buy it expecting the full 48.
I’d just make sure I’m logging into the same account after switching, whether that’s email or one of the sign-in options. I’ve swapped between Android and iPhone with a different scale app and my history was still there. So for me the account matters more than the phone.
Mine made zero difference for small stuff like chargers or my laptop. Where I actually noticed it was with my washing machine and fridge, less of that buzzing sound if that makes sense. Small electronics just don’t pull enough to matter either way.
I’d just look at what carrier partners they list for the specific country I’m going to. The 176 number is broad but it doesn’t tell you anything about the actual signal where you’ll be staying. If it’s a smaller island or remote area I’d probably grab a local SIM instead.
If you’re mostly watching them against the sky, it should pick them up fine once they’re silhouetted. I wouldn’t buy it expecting to identify anything at that hour though.
The magnet on mine has held fine on the metal frame of a hotel door, but I wouldn’t trust it on anything painted. I’ve had mine slowly creep down a wall overnight before. If you’re that worried just use the adhesive, it’s not worth losing sleep over.
Heat mode is fine for me, not a gimmick. I use it on my lower back after sitting all day and the top setting feels properly warm. It’s not going to replace a real heating pad but it’s more than just a tingle.
It’s fine for typing but I wouldn’t wear it for a full 8 hour day. I usually just put mine on after lunch when my shoulders start getting stiff. Does the job without looking too weird.
Mine fits my 11 lb guy okay but I did have to mess with the strap for a bit to get it snug. It doesn’t flop around on walks, though he does scratch at it sometimes when we’re just chilling at home.
I had mine in a room with a TV on most nights and it still caught plenty. The UV doesn’t need total darkness to pull bugs in, it just competes with other light sources. If you already have ambient light, it’ll still work, just maybe not as strongly.
If you’re getting drops then yeah it makes a difference. Mine was on 2.4 for months and had the same random stalls, moved it to the other band and it’s been solid since. Worth a quick look at the router settings if you know the login.
I picked it up one-handed while moving it from the driveway to the backyard and it was fine. It’s not like carrying a toolbox or something. I did notice the balance feels a bit off if you grip it for a long stretch, but for moving around the yard it was never an issue for me.
I think the saved pairs thing is mostly about convenience, not performance. I never really tested it with multiple pairs doing a side by side comparison or anything, but I have switched between English and Japanese while traveling and the app just seems to handle it.
The one thing that did trip me up early on was forgetting to check which pair was actually selected before I started talking to someone. I would just assume it was still on English to Spanish from earlier and then mid conversation realize it was still some other pair. That was more me being careless than the app being slow though.
If you and your friend are always English to Spanish then keeping one pair active is probably the cleanest way to go. I do that now when I am mostly around one language for a while. Less to think about.
Squirrels are usually stubborn enough that sound alone doesn’t move them much, especially if they’ve figured out the feeder is worth it. Mine kept coming back even with the unit right next to their favorite spot. I’d say keep it for the cats and don’t expect much else from it.
I kept my old tower fan running next to it for a few days just to see and the PolarBreeze definitely moves less air in terms of that direct blast feeling. But it covers a wider area in a room, so it felt less like standing in front of a jet engine and more like the whole space just got cooler. For me that trade off was worth it, especially since I don’t need to sit right next to it to feel it.
I was in the same boat when I got mine. My apartment has one window in the kitchen and the TV is on the opposite side of the living room, so I figured I’d be doing a lot of trial and error. Honestly I just plugged it in, ran the channel scan, and got everything I needed without moving it an inch. The window thing seems to matter more if you’re in a really rural area or have a lot of buildings around you.
What changed my mind about it was having a friend who lives in a high rise with floor to ceiling windows and they get fewer channels than I do. So it’s not like the window guarantees anything either. I think people just say that because it’s the easiest advice to give, but the real answer is just try it where you want it first before you start rearranging furniture. You can always move it later.
My only gripe is that I spent way too long obsessing over placement when I could have just done a channel scan and been done with it. If you’re already set on the WaveMax, I’d say grab it and test it in the spot you actually want it. If it doesn’t work, then you can start messing with positions. No point stressing over the window before you even try.
I don’t think you need to move everything. I had mine behind a floor lamp and a side table for a while and still noticed fewer ants in that room after a few weeks. If the couch is pressed right against the wall where it’s plugged in, maybe try a different outlet, but I wouldn’t rearrange furniture over it.
I swapped mine out last winter and the heat definitely feels different. The radiator gives off that slow, even warmth that hangs in the air, while the ceramic one is more of a direct blast right in front of it. If you sit close to it, it feels great, but the room itself doesn’t get that same cozy soak. I kept mine for the desk, but I wouldn’t say it replaces a radiator for overall room comfort.
I’ve had a totally different experience with the Zindoggo. The safe zone on mine has been way more reliable than my old tracker ever was, especially in open areas. It’s not like a laser fence or anything, but it catches my dog the second he steps past the line. The alerts come through fast enough that I can see him on the map before he gets too far. I wouldn’t call it rough at all.
Honestly, I wouldn’t count on it for limescale. I’ve had mine for about two months in a pretty hard water area, and while the chlorine thing is noticeable, the limescale buildup on the head itself still happened. It’s not some miracle anti-scale device, it’s just a filter. The water does feel softer on the skin though, which is probably why people mix the two up. If limescale is your main issue, you’re better off looking at a whole house softener or something. The shower head alone won’t fix that.
Bucket works fine for me, I just drop the intake line in and go. The pressure drops a bit compared to a hose, but for a quick car rinse or cleaning patio furniture it gets the job done. I wouldn’t overthink it, just make sure the filter stays under the water.
