I don’t wear glasses at all, so I’m just wondering if PolorVision is meant only for people with prescription frames or if it works fine on its own. I see the over-glasses thing mentioned a lot, but does that mean it’s awkward without them? Just trying to figure out if it’s worth it for someone with normal vision.

I’ve never worn prescription glasses and mine work perfectly fine on their own, so I wouldn’t assume they’re only for people who wear frames. The over-glasses thing is just an option for those who need it, not the main purpose. If glare bothers you while driving, they’re worth trying regardless of your eyesight.

I have normal vision too and just wear mine as regular sunglasses, no issues with them feeling weird. The over-glasses thing is just an option if you happen to wear frames, not some requirement.

Not wearing glasses doesn’t make these pointless at all. I picked up a pair mostly for the glare on my commute and I’ve ended up using them way more than I expected. The over-glasses bit is just one way to wear them, not the whole point of the design. Mine sit like normal sunglasses and I forget I have them on half the time, which is more than I can say for the cheap pair I had before that slid around constantly.

The part that actually surprised me was how much they help when the sun is low and bouncing off the car in front of me, or when the road is wet and everything reflects. That used to leave me squinting for the whole drive. It’s not some magic fix for bad weather, but for normal everyday driving it makes things calmer on the eyes.

If you’ve got normal vision and you drive a lot, it’s a reasonable thing to have in the car.

I don’t wear glasses either and mine are fine, but the fit is the annoying part. They’re a bit bulkier than normal sunglasses, so they slide a little if I look down too fast. Still usable, just not as snug as I’d like.

I’d push back a little on the idea that they’re basically just normal sunglasses without a prescription. For me the whole point is the glare thing, and that doesn’t really depend on whether you need vision correction. I don’t wear glasses either and I got a pair mainly for night driving because oncoming headlights were starting to bug me on longer trips. They did take some getting used to, mostly because the tint and contrast change how everything looks at first, and I remember thinking they felt a bit odd for the first couple of drives. After that it just became normal. The over-glasses bit is irrelevant if you have normal vision, it’s just a fit option, not the main feature. So I wouldn’t judge them as pointless just because you don’t wear frames. If glare is the reason you’re looking at them, that part still applies.

I actually don’t think they’re worth it if you have perfect vision. I tried my husband’s pair on a road trip and the tint just made everything look slightly off to me, no real improvement over my regular sunglasses. Maybe I’m just not sensitive to glare, but I’d save the money.

They work fine without a prescription, but I don’t think they’re meant to replace regular sunglasses. Mine only come out for driving because the glare thing is what I actually bought them for, and they sit in the glovebox the rest of the time. So it just depends what you want them for.

I don’t wear glasses either and I just treated mine like regular sunglasses. The over-glasses thing is just an option, not a requirement. Mine look a little chunky but nobody’s ever noticed.

They work fine on their own. The over-glasses bit is just an option, not the whole point. I’ve used mine plenty without any prescription underneath and never felt like I was missing something.

They work fine without prescriptions, the over-glasses thing is just an option for people who already wear them. I don’t wear glasses either and I’ve had mine for a few months now. The only thing I’d point out is the day and night modes aren’t as different as I expected. I mostly got them for evening driving and they do cut down the headlight glare, but for bright sunny afternoons I still reach for my regular sunglasses because the tint is lighter than I’d like. So if your main reason is glare while driving, they’re fine on their own. If you want something for general outdoor use in strong sun, you might find yourself wanting a second pair anyway.

I have normal vision and mine work fine, but I only really reach for them on long night drives. Around town they just live in the glovebox. For me they cut glare on the highway, less useful in stop and go traffic.

I don’t wear glasses either and mine have been fine on their own. The over-glasses thing is just there for people who need it, doesn’t make them weird without. I use mine mainly for glare on rainy days and they do the job.

I have normal vision and bought a pair mostly out of curiosity, and they’ve been fine on their own. The over-glasses design just means the frames are a bit wider than normal sunglasses, so on me they look slightly bulky. Not a dealbreaker, but I’d try them on before buying if looks matter to you.

Works fine on its own, I don’t wear glasses and just wear mine like normal sunglasses. The over-glasses thing is an option for people who need it, not some requirement. Whether it’s “worth it” depends on how much glare bugs you while driving, honestly.

Over-glasses is just a fit thing, not a requirement.

Works fine, the over-glasses thing is just optional.

I got a pair last spring mainly for the drive to my parents’ place, which is about three hours of highway and a bunch of two lane roads after dark. I don’t wear glasses, so I just use them like regular sunglasses and they sit fine on my face. The over glasses thing never even crossed my mind until I saw it mentioned online, it’s not like they feel loose or slide around without a pair underneath. What surprised me is I actually use them more in the daytime than at night. Something about the contrast on gray overcast days makes road markings pop a bit more for me, and I didn’t expect that. Night driving they help with oncoming headlights but it’s not some magic switch, just less squinting. Anyway they live in my door pocket now, which says enough I guess.

I don’t wear glasses and mine felt off for driving. The over-glasses shape sat too wide on my face, so I ended up passing them to my dad. Not saying they’re only for glasses wearers, but they weren’t a great fit for me without them.

I don’t wear glasses either and just use mine like regular sunglasses. The over glasses thing is more about the frame shape being a bit roomier, which honestly makes them feel less tight on my head after an hour or so. For normal vision they work totally fine on their own.

Good to know, thanks for clearing that up.
