I’ve been curious about this too since I keep flip-flopping on whether to turn mine off when I’m just around the house. I’ve had left-behind alerts on for maybe three months now and I’m still hovering around the same battery level I’d expect without it, so it hasn’t felt drastic. I guess the real question is how much the constant Bluetooth pinging adds up over a full charge cycle.
I feel like the battery is one of those things where it’s fine until it suddenly isn’t. I had mine die on me mid-conversation with a shop owner once, which was awkward. Ever since, I just charge it every night without thinking about it, but I also don’t use it nonstop all day.
I keep going back and forth on this because the adhesive part is the only thing I’d worry about, not the weight of the unit itself. My walls are textured though, so I’d probably end up with a dent or a scratched paint job if it let go. You might be fine on a smooth surface, but I’d personally treat it as a “probably works until it doesn’t” kind of setup.
Honestly, it sounds like the two masks give you enough flexibility that fit probably won’t be a dealbreaker. I’d just keep the child mask nearby as a backup if you’re really unsure. It’s nice that they thought to include both sizes in the box though.
Honestly I think that’s just how these portable heat pads are. They’re not really meant to blast you with heat, more like a gentle warmth to complement the pulses. I’d probably just stick with the EMS if you want stronger sensation.
I guess it depends on what you need out of it. For me, I’d rather have a collar that lasts a few days without stressing over the charger every night, even if it means slightly bigger. Your old one sounds like a hassle.

I think it depends on what you’re expecting honestly. My friend has one in a room with afternoon sun and says it takes the edge off but doesn’t make it icy or anything. I’ve been tempted to try it myself just for the portability since I move mine around a lot.
I’ve had mine for a couple weeks and honestly I didn’t notice instant heat either, but it does get warm pretty fast if you plug it in and just leave it on for a few minutes. I mostly use it when I’m sitting at my desk and it takes the chill off without making the whole room stuffy. I wouldn’t call it instant but it’s definitely quicker than my old space heater.
I kind of wonder if the heat is more for the placebo effect than actual therapy. Like it feels nice to know it’s there, but I doubt it’s doing much for muscle tension compared to a real heating pad.
I get what you mean about wondering if they actually cool or just move air around. From what I’ve seen it really depends on how you set it up, if you can get the hot air out properly it does make a difference even if it’s not super powerful.
I’m still on the fence about buying one, but reading this makes me think the wide setting is probably the safer bet for just getting started. Does the concentrated stream actually make that much of a difference on moss, or is it more about just holding it closer?
Good to know most people haven’t had issues, that makes me feel better about leaving mine where it is. I think I’ll just stop overthinking it and stick the tablet one somewhere similar and see how it goes.
