Thinking about sticking this Qinux PolarBreeze on the wall with those adhesive hooks. Anyone tried that, or is it just going to fall off and hit the floor? Seems like a decent little unit for my desk, but I’m not about to trust it to gravity without knowing it’s not gonna drop.

Mine has been on the wall for about three weeks now and it hasn’t budged. I used the hooks they suggest and made sure the surface was clean and dry first. I wouldn’t trust it over a bed or anything, but for a desk setup it’s been fine so far.

I’d skip the wall mount myself. These little coolers are light enough that the hooks probably hold fine, but I’d rather just set it on the desk and not gamble with it dropping while I’m not looking. Faster to move around too.

Adhesive on painted drywall is a gamble no matter how clean you get it first. If your walls have any texture or the paint is even slightly glossy, those hooks are going to let go eventually. I would just set it on the desk and skip the wall mount.

The adhesive hooks that come with stuff like this are usually decent, but they’re designed for smooth surfaces. If your wall has even a tiny bit of texture or the paint is a little old, that’s where things get dicey.

I had a friend who put one up in their bathroom on tile and it stayed forever. Meanwhile, my sister tried it on her bedroom wall and it lasted maybe a week before it slid down overnight. No damage, but it definitely didn’t stay put. Honestly, I think the safest bet is to just keep it on the desk if you’re unsure. The whole point of this thing is that it’s portable anyway, so why risk it falling in the middle of the night and scaring the cat? It’s not heavy, but falling is falling.

If you do try the wall mount, just give it a good press and wait a bit before putting the unit on. But yeah, I wouldn’t trust it on anything other than a really smooth surface. My two cents is just use it freestanding unless you know your wall is perfect for it. It’s not worth the hassle of picking it up off the floor every morning.

Good to see I’m not the only one who rolled the dice on this. Seems like the wall surface does most of the work, which is what I figured. I’ll give it a shot but I’m keeping the box nearby just in case it takes a dive.
