I’d probably just stick to one earbud in and let the app handle the rest, that’s my usual setup for calls anyway. Not sure I’d trust anything live for a client chat though, even if it mostly works the awkward pauses would get to me. My preference is keeping work calls and translation separate, less to think about mid-sentence.
I gave this a shot with a Korean movie a couple weeks back, mostly out of curiosity since I already had the buds in. It actually held up better than I expected for slower scenes, like when two people are just talking in a room. The problem was anytime there was any background music or a crowd, the translation just kind of drifted and I’d lose the thread for a minute. Not a total mess, but I ended up pausing a lot to figure out what I missed, which killed the flow.
I think it depends on the movie too. Something dialogue heavy and quiet would probably be fine. An action flick with constant noise, not so much. I still finished it with normal subtitles on. The translation thing is a fun extra but I wouldn’t plan a whole movie night around it yet.
I’ve used mine for garage dust a few times and it works but it’s kind of a mixed bag depending on what you’re pointing it at. For open shelves where the dust can just fly off into the air, it does fine. But if you’ve got a shelf against a wall or near a bunch of other clutter, you’re basically just relocating the dust to wherever you’re not aiming. I usually crack the garage door and kind of push everything toward the opening in one direction. It’s quick, way faster than wiping every little corner. The trigger makes it easy to feather it so you’re not blasting full power at a shelf. I don’t think it’s overkill for light dust as long as you’re not expecting it to replace a cloth entirely. Some stuff just sticks and needs a wipe after anyway. For quick maintenance between actual cleanings though, it’s handy to have around.
I went the other way and grabbed one of those cheap roller guides first, the kind that clamps over the bar. It worked fine but the roller kept drifting on me so the angles wandered after a few teeth. A buddy lent me his SawShark for a weekend and the difference for me was mostly in the clamping. It sits on the bar solid enough that you are not fighting it while you file, so each tooth gets pretty much the same pass without you constantly checking. That said, it is not like it sharpens for you. You still have to count your strokes and keep the pressure even or you will get one side cut heavier than the other. I ended up buying one mostly because I sharpen maybe every second tank and got tired of second guessing myself. If your old guide is already giving you straight cutters I am not sure it is a huge leap, but for me the steadier hold was the part that actually made a difference.
Mine threaded right onto the arm in my last two apartments, no adapter involved. I’ve moved it between places twice now and it always just screwed on like a normal head. So if yours looks standard, you’re good.

So you do get a rough idea of where it was last seen, just not a live dot the whole flight. For me that was enough to feel better about handing over the bag. Battery has lasted me about five months so far on the original one, if that helps.
Forget the calendar, just go by feel. If the fit still bugs you after a week, tweaking the jaw position a bit now is fine, it’s not like there’s a magic number. I messed with mine pretty early and nothing bad happened.
That size thing was my main worry too, since those little cases are basically all curve. I’d say if you can find a flat-ish spot near the hinge it’ll sit way better than trying to slap it on the rounded side. Worth a shot for pocket use, honestly.
Honestly I wouldn’t assume the list is just the big ones, but I also wouldn’t trust the “156 languages” number to mean every single one is actually useful in real conversation. The app list is easy enough to check on its own before you buy the buds, which is probably the smartest move if you’ve got a specific smaller language in mind. I feel like the gap between “supported” and “works well” gets pretty wide once you go past the usual suspects.
Honestly I was expecting way more drama with switching since my old pair made me re-pair every single time. The FitiBeats have been fine in that department for me. My laptop picks them up quick enough when I toggle Bluetooth on, and jumping back to my phone hasn’t been a chore. Not flawless, but nowhere near the hassle of cheaper buds I’ve used.

I think the “weird” feeling is your cue to move them, honestly. The red marks are basically gone and I don’t get that weird twitchy feeling. The pads also seem to stick better when I don’t leave them glued to one spot for ages, though that might just be in my head.
I don’t think you’re overthinking it. Everybody’s tolerance is different and the guidelines are probably written super conservative to cover all body types. Moving around when it feels off is just listening to your body.
I get the appeal of having it in the car since that’s where a lot of accidents happen, but I’d be more worried about the masks getting warped or the seals drying out from the heat. I’ve seen rubber stuff go stiff after a summer in a glovebox. If you’re set on it, maybe just check the masks every few months.
I think you’re probably fine waiting to see what actually shows up. A lot of these cheaper action cams make you buy the card separately, but some bundles do toss one in as a bonus. If it were me I’d just order a card anyway since you’ll need one eventually and 4K fills them up quick.
Good to know I’m not the only one who noticed that. Sounds like the molded insert is the way to go if you want to keep everything together. I was hoping for something a bit more rugged but honestly for the price I’ll just be careful where I put it. Appreciate the heads up everyone.
I gave it a shot near my feeder last month and the squirrels did not seem to care one bit. They’d freeze for a second when the light hit them, but then just went back to digging for fallen seeds. Cats vanish completely, so it is doing something, just not for the bushy tails.
I figured I’d just toss mine on the back of the tablet case since the tablet itself has that matte finish and I wasn’t sure how well it would grab. It’s been a couple weeks and it’s still sitting flat, no peeling at the edges. As for the look, it’s small enough that I don’t really notice it unless I’m looking for it.
