Mine actually held up fine in my garage until around the 3 week mark, then it dropped off pretty quick after that. I think the scent fading is just how you know it’s done. For the price I just swap them when I can barely smell them anymore.
Mine came with a little tray to keep it clean which I didn’t expect. Sensitivity wise it’s done more for my gums feeling less tender overall than fixing the sharp zings when I bite into something cold. So depends what kind of sensitivity you mean.
I’ve had mine about two weeks and mostly use it for exactly that, one on one talking in a quiet room. It does help, but I stopped switching modes after like day two. Just leave it and go.
Honestly I think this is one of those “set it and forget it” kind of gadgets. The way I see it, the auto shutoff is your real safety net here. It’s not like these things are designed to run indefinitely anyway. Once it gets too hot or if it gets bumped, it kills itself. That’s the main thing that matters if you’re worried about leaving it plugged in. I wouldn’t count on a timer feature that isn’t there. Some plug-in heaters have them, some don’t. This one seems like it doesn’t. Your best bet is to just get into the habit of unplugging it when you’re done. I know that’s not the answer you were hoping for, but it’s better to assume it’ll run forever than to trust something that isn’t actually built in.
I’d probably just put a yoga mat or something thin underneath it if you’re really worried. I’ve used mine on a few different surfaces and honestly the carpet in my living room is fine, but I do prefer having it on something firmer. The device has some weight to it and once you’re lying down, your body weight keeps it pretty locked in place. It’s not like it’s going to shoot out from under you or anything.
I actually think the iTagPro is noticeably louder than my old Tile ever was. I thought the same thing at first, but then I realized I was just holding it differently or standing farther away than I normally did with the Tile. Once I did a side by side test in the same spot, it was pretty clear to me.
I get why you’re asking, but honestly with a regular wallet I’d just keep it behind the cards you care about most. I’ve seen people toss it in any slot and assume it’s doing something, but I’m not convinced it covers everything when stuff is crammed in there. Better safe than sorry.
I think the handle-heavy feel might be coming from how you choke up on it. I noticed it too when I first got mine, but then I realized I was gripping it way too far back. Once I moved my hand up a bit and actually used the finger hole, it balanced out a lot better for me. I’ve been doing mostly fish prep with mine and it feels pretty neutral now. That finger hole looks gimmicky at first but it does change where your hand sits, which changes the whole balance. Could be worth trying before you decide it’s off. Or maybe your hands are just bigger than mine, hard to say.
The Magnuson-Moss thing is worth a quick read if you’re worried, basically the dealer has to prove the part caused the damage.
Mine does the exact same thing. I actually like it though because it gives me a heads up before the loud part starts. It threw me off at first too but after a few weeks I got used to the pattern.
Mine is in a converted garage that has tall ceilings and it keeps the area around it comfortable. I don’t think the height threw it off much, the unit just works harder when the heat kicks in. It’s not going to feel like a furnace blasting from above, but for the space I’m actually sitting in it’s fine.
I get what you mean about the TENS weirdness. The vibration on this is way more broad and thumpy, not that sharp tingly feeling at all. It feels closer to one of those massage pads on a chair, but deeper since you’re lying on it. Not gonna lie, I actually fall asleep with it running sometimes.
I run mine in a corner that’s maybe 6-8 feet from the nearest window and it pulls in everything I need. The window thing seems more like a suggestion than a hard rule. I’d say just set it up wherever and do a channel scan, then move it if you’re missing something.
Cold water gives you a slightly stronger chill right at the start, no doubt about it. But once the water in the tank warms up to room temp, which happens quicker than you’d think, it levels out anyway.
I just use tap water now. The difference is so short-lived that it’s not worth the extra step of filling a pitcher and sticking it in the fridge.
I started mine at around 5 months and the pup picked it up fast. She’d stop mid-bark, look around confused, then go back to whatever she was doing. If yours is already responding to it after two weeks, I’d say keep going. The age thing matters less than whether the pup actually connects the sound with the barking.

Hard water area here. I just treat the filter like a consumable and swap it when the pressure drops. Not the cheapest thing but my hair feels less straw-like so I’m okay with it.
I’d probably just go for it if the pop is bothering you. The motor hum is way less jarring than that sudden crack sound, especially late at night.
I actually notice a decent difference with ice. It’s not gonna turn it into an AC unit or anything but that initial blast of cold air is nice when you first turn it on. I just toss a couple cubes in when I fill it up and it works for me.
I got medium-large hands and honestly they feel fine for casual sessions. Not the most ergonomic thing ever, but I never really noticed any cramping.
