Not buying the faster heat thing. I had a radiator and a fan heater in the same room, and the fan heater felt warm for maybe five minutes then the room was still cold an hour later. Radiator was slow but the room actually stayed warm. Fast on your skin isn’t heat.
Lefty here as well. I’ve had mine since last fall and the handedness thing never really clicked as the problem for me. What I noticed is that it works a lot better if I clamp the bar in a vise first instead of trying to hold the saw with one hand and work the tool with the other. Once the saw is locked down, the whole left hand thing stops mattering because I’m just guiding the tool along the tooth. Takes an extra minute to set up but the results are way more consistent. If you don’t have a vise, even just bracing the bar against something solid helps. The awkwardness you’re feeling might be more about the saw moving around than which hand you’re using. Worth a shot before you write it off.
I’ve had mine about a month and I’m charging it every three or four days. But I’ve got a neighbor’s dog that sets mine off at weird hours, so it’s probably working harder than it would for most people. I don’t think it’s a dud, it’s just that the thing only holds so much juice and it reacts whenever it hears barking, not just from my own dog.
What I’d check is if it’s triggering more often than you realize. Mine sits near a window and I figured out it was picking up dogs from two houses over. Once I moved it further inside, the battery stretched out noticeably. Not saying yours is in the same spot, but it’s worth paying attention to when it actually goes off. These things drain fast if they’re constantly in use.
The heart rate on mine is closer to a gimmick than anything I’d trust. It’s a quick electrical pulse reading through your feet, not a continuous measurement like a wrist sensor. I’d use the scale for weight and body fat trends and just ignore the HR number if it doesn’t match your watch.
Wash first, mask, then the rest of your routine is how I’ve always done it. I tried putting a serum on before the mask once and didn’t notice any difference, so I stopped bothering. The light does its thing regardless of what order you layer stuff in.
The weird feeling is just the nerves getting overstimulated, not damage. Moving them every 5 minutes is fine if that’s what feels right to you. I leave mine in one spot for the full 15 minutes on my traps, but I run it at a lower intensity. If you’re cranking it up, you’ll naturally want to shift sooner.
The “invisible barrier” claim is way too optimistic. I think a lot of these ultrasonic gadgets work on the bugs dumb enough to fly right into the light zone, but they don’t actually repel anything across a distance. Expecting it to protect you 10 meters away is just not realistic.
Carried mine in the door pocket for about a year and a half. Not the glovebox, the door. Probably gets more sun than the console does depending on how you park.
What I noticed was the masks getting a little stiff. Not cracked or warped, just not as soft as they were when I first got it. Still worked fine when I tested it on a cushion to make sure the seal held, but I wouldn’t say it came out of that summer completely unchanged.
The thing that got me was more the heat cycles than the cold. Winter never seemed to bother it. But sitting in a parking lot in July with the windows up, that plastic gets genuinely hot to the touch. I’d grab it and think about how the one-way valve or the plunger seal might not love that forever. No signs of actual damage yet, but it’s one of those things where you won’t know it failed until you actually need it.
Ended up moving it to the trunk in a small bag with some other emergency stuff. Stays cooler back there, out of direct sunlight, and I don’t have to look at it every time I reach for a pen. If you’re going to keep it in the car, I’d just say don’t leave it somewhere it’s baking in direct light all day. The plastic seems okay with normal interior temps but I wouldn’t push my luck.
Used mine on chains that were already uneven and honestly it did a decent job leveling them out. Not going to pretend it turned them into brand new chains, but it made them usable again for a while longer. If the teeth are completely shot or damaged, no hand tool is going to fix that.
I’ve got mine set up so touch does the volume and voice does the assistant stuff. Mainly because I’m lazy and don’t want to repeat myself when I’m walking somewhere noisy. But I still forget the tap zones exist half the time, so I wouldn’t stress about it.
The stress number is a decent proxy, but I stopped looking at it as a real-time gauge. I found it much more telling when I compare it against my sleep HRV the next morning. A high stress day followed by a low HRV night tells me more than the score itself ever did. It’s a lagging indicator, not a live one.
Tap water is fine. The UV light is just killing whatever bacteria is in the bottle, it doesn’t care if the water came from a sink or a store. I wouldn’t expect it to do anything special for weird minerals or taste, but for basic cleaning it works.
Different experience here. I’ve had mine about three weeks and mine feels slightly blade-heavy if anything. Not in a bad way, more like it wants to do the work for you once you get a rhythm going. The handle-heavy thing might be a grip issue or maybe you’re choking up higher than I do. I tend to hold it near the bolster and it balances fine there.
That said, I get why some people would notice it. The beech handle is lighter than a lot of Western-style handles, so if you’re used to those, the weight distribution can feel off at first. Took me a few sessions to stop adjusting my grip. Now I don’t think about it.
If it’s actually bothering you after a couple more days, that might just be how it suits your hand. Not every knife works for every person.
I run mine in heating mode most nights in my bedroom and honestly I think the people saying it’s a huge difference are overselling it. There is a bit more noise, but it’s not this loud hum that keeps you awake. I notice it more when the room is cold and it’s working hard to warm up, then it settles down. If you’re a light sleeper, position it away from your head and you’ll be fine.
I wouldn’t count on one pull being some magic guaranteed thing. I’ve seen enough demos to think it works when the seal is good and the object isn’t wedged in weird, but that’s true of any tool like this. It’s a backup, not a miracle.
I’d skip it if you already think it’ll be too much. I’ve got a normal sized mouth and it’s noticeable when it’s in. Not painful, but you’re aware of it the whole time. If you’ve got a smaller mouth, that’s only going to be more obvious.
I had mine out last summer and the light was plenty visible inside a tent. If anything it’s almost too bright when you’re trying to sleep. The zapping is the part that actually matters and that worked fine in the dark.
Oven glass is tempered for a reason, it takes way more abuse than a bit of steam. I have used mine on the door glass a few times and it was fine, no streaks or cracks left behind. The only thing I would say is just keep the nozzle moving and don’t let the heat build up on one spot for too long.
That heavy feeling usually means the room needs a bit of airflow, not that the heater is doing something wrong.
I’m in the opposite boat. I bought mine mainly for mirroring and the streaming apps are the backup. I’ve used it to throw stuff from my tablet up on the TV a bunch of times, mostly when I’m at my parents’ place because their TV doesn’t have any smart features. Never had a serious problem with it. There was one time where the picture froze for a second and then caught up, but that was on a hotel network that was barely working anyway.
The one thing I notice is people blame the stick when the real issue is usually the phone or the Wi-Fi. I’ve mirrored from two different phones and my tablet, and the older phone does stutter more. The tablet is smooth almost every time. So if you’re going to rely on it for travel, the quality is going to depend on what you’re casting from and the internet where you’re staying, not just the Flixy itself.
I’d say try it out on your home network with the phone you plan to take. If that works fine, it’ll probably work fine on the road. If it’s laggy at home with a solid connection, then you might have a problem. But I’ve used it enough to say the mirroring isn’t the weak point people make it out to be.
Having both is pretty much stacking the same protection twice. The holder already covers your passport, so the Guardality would only matter if you wanted the same blocking for the rest of your cards in the same pocket. If your cards are elsewhere, skip it.
It’ll get through it, but you have to be realistic about what “get through it” means. I bought mine for the same reason, grates that looked like they had a layer of asphalt on them. It didn’t erase everything in one pass like the demos suggest. The motor spins fast enough to chew through the top layer, and once you get down to the metal, it cleans up fine.
The trick is you can’t just glide it over the surface and expect magic. You have to let the brush sit on the bad spots for a few seconds and actually push down a little. I’d say it took me three or four passes on the worst sections before I saw bare metal. My arm didn’t fall off, so that’s a win compared to the old wire brush method.
For a grill that you’ve let sit all winter, it’s worth it. Just don’t expect it to make the grates look brand new in one go. It’ll get them functional, though.
