I never bothered checking how many countries it claims. I just like that I don’t have to swap SIMs every time I cross a border, that alone is worth it for me.
Appreciate all the input, this gave me a better sense of what to expect. I think I’m just gonna grab one and see how it goes rather than keep going back and forth on it. Worst case it ends up as a guest pillow for the couch.
The UV cap helps mostly on days I forget to wash it. Mine went from smelling by day two to making it to like day four, which is enough for me. Charging is a bit annoying but I just plug it in overnight every week or so.
I’ve had mine for a few months now and never really thought about the sound quality after the first day. It’s just the same music I was playing before, coming out the same speakers. The lag thing I also don’t notice, but I’m also not sitting there staring at the screen waiting for it to change tracks.
Mine warms up too if it’s been running most of the day. I just checked mine now after having it on since morning and it’s the same, just a bit warm. Doesn’t seem to affect the green light or anything. I think it’s just how it works.
I would just plug it in and see if it stays put. If the spot is awkward, a zip tie or something to keep it from dangling would be my move. The learning part happens through the port itself, not the position of the little box.
I had the same question before grabbing one. For me, the important thing is that it keeps detecting during an outage, and mine does. I had a storm knock the power out for a few hours last month and the screen did go dark, but the unit stayed on and I could hear it do its little self-check beep when I walked past. It was still working, just not showing me the numbers.
I mainly wanted it for the kitchen anyway, as a second layer of warning if something happened while we slept. The backup battery gives me that peace of mind without needing to run around checking a separate detector. It’s not a full smart system or anything, but for a simple plug-in device it does what it says. I wouldn’t expect it to run for days, but for a typical outage it’s been fine for me.
I’m in the opposite camp. I grabbed one for the car right away and it’s been sitting in the console for about eight months now. No weird smells, no warping, masks still fit fine. I’d rather have it there and not need it than realize I left it on the kitchen counter when something happens at a restaurant.
I kinda think the refill thing is part of the deal with these desktop coolers. If you run the mist constantly, yeah, you’re gonna be pouring water in all day. I only use the mist in short bursts when it’s really hot and keep it on just the fan otherwise. That cuts way down on how often I have to mess with it.
It does fine for a garage if you keep expectations realistic. I mainly use mine to blow out the workbench area and sweep dust toward the door. It’ll push leaf bits and grit out of corners no problem, but you’ll want to do it before you sweep or mop, otherwise you’re just rearranging the dirt.
One thing I noticed is that it works better when you angle it low and sort of herd the dust rather than trying to blast everything at full power. If you crank it all the way, you’ll just put a dust cloud in the air and it settles right back where you started.
For a quick weekly cleanup it’s handy. I wouldn’t want it as my only tool for a really filthy space, but for keeping the garage presentable it gets the job done.
I think I’d still lean on voice even if I forced myself to use the touch controls more. They’re handy for quick stuff like pausing audio, but for anything else my brain just defaults to talking. If voice works fine for you, I wouldn’t stress about making the taps a habit.
I actually found the opposite, mine barely ever flags stress even on days I feel completely wired. Took me a while to realize it seems to react more to physical strain than mental stress, so a busy anxious day at my desk shows nothing but a tough workout shows high stress. Maybe that’s what you’re dealing with too, just the ring reading a different kind of stress than what you feel.
I get the hesitation on the “4K” wording, it is mostly marketing. But I have had mine plugged into a bigger living room TV and the picture is totally fine for what it is. You still know you are playing old games, but it is not the messy blur you might be picturing. I would not let that label stop you if the price seems right.
I’d just factor the card into the price and not assume anything. These cameras almost always come with just the bare minimum accessories and expect you to handle storage yourself. A 32GB or 64GB card is cheap enough that it shouldn’t change your decision one way or the other.
Mine gets noticeably warm too, especially around the straps after a full day. I just figure it’s the material doing its thing, and it’s never bothered me enough to take it off early. Seems pretty normal for this kind of brace.
I’d probably give it a little more time before changing anything. I’ve had units like this where the first few runs left things feeling a bit off, and then it settled down once the room and the unit got used to each other. That sticky feeling can also just be the room itself, especially if it’s got poor airflow or you’re running it with the door closed for hours.
If it keeps happening after a few more sessions, maybe check if you’ve got it on the lowest fan setting. I’ve noticed that when I run mine on a slower airflow, the moisture doesn’t get moved around as much, and it feels more humid near the unit even though the air is actually cooler. Crank it up a notch and see if that changes things. Otherwise, I wouldn’t mess with it too much unless it starts actually dripping or leaving visible moisture on surfaces.
I keep mine in the bathroom at home actually. Water alone is fine for me most of the time, but I do notice it works a lot better on days when I throw a couple cubes in. It’s not a massive difference, just feels fresher. I wouldn’t stress about doing it every single day though.
I’ve had mine for about a month now and the whirr is just part of how it operates, I guess. I actually kind of like that I can hear it working, it feels more deliberate than yanking a cork out myself. As long as it’s a smooth sound and not grinding, I wouldn’t worry about it.
I took mine into a two person tent a few weeks back and the light was plenty noticeable in the dark. Didnt even have it on the highest setting and it kept pulling in the little moths and stuff that kept getting in when we unzipped the door. For a small space like that I think you’ll be fine.
I think that’s just the nature of the stuff. The foam is what does the work, so if it’s rising that high, it’s probably hitting whatever is in there. As long as it doesn’t spill over the edge, I’d just let it do its thing and flush it out after.
Mine fit fine but I had to adjust how I put them on. The arms on my prescription frames are pretty standard, not thick at all. I could see it being a hassle if you have those really bulky designer frames or wide hinges. It’s snug but not crushing.
I’d probably just try it out in the garage honestly. Cold temps shouldn’t matter much since it just plugs into the wall. Worst case you move it inside later, it’s not like it’s a big commitment.
I wouldn’t stress about it too much. Most non-slip mats leave some kind of mark on floors after sitting for a while, it’s just how they work. Unless it’s actually staining or peeling the finish, I’d just leave it be.
Huh, I had mine for a couple weeks before I even noticed the heat setting. I usually just lay on it and watch TV, so it’s not something I pay much attention to. It does feel a little warmer than the floor, but I’d never call it hot or anything. Doesn’t bother me though, I’m just using it for the stretch.
