I’ve had mine running almost daily for about six weeks and the hum is just part of the deal with a fan inside. What surprised me is that it’s actually quieter than I expected for something that dries a full load that fast. The old rack may have been silent but my towels took forever, so I’ll take the trade.
I’m a lefty too and mine felt weird for closer to a month before my hands just sorted it out on their own. Not saying that’ll happen for you, just that the awkward phase lasted longer than I expected. What actually helped me was only using it for a few teeth at a time instead of trying to do the whole chain in one go. Short bursts felt way less clumsy and I wasn’t fighting the angle as much. Now it’s just part of my normal chain maintenance and I don’t really think about which hand I’m using anymore. Do you notice it’s worse on one side of the chain than the other? For me the left side teeth always felt more natural to reach, so that might be part of what you’re feeling too.
Would it be too strong? Only if you hold it wide open right next to the shelf. I dusted my whole workbench with mine on the low setting and it was totally fine, no dust cloud chaos. Just don’t expect it to replace a rag for the really grimy stuff.
I actually found the opposite with mine. The twist handle was slower for me but I could feel when the cork was about to give, and with the electric one I just hold the button and hope. It’s still handy for parties though, I’ll give it that.
I picked mine up mostly for the translation stuff and there was no subscription attached to it at any point. The app asked me to make an account once and that was it. Still translating fine for me.
I ordered mine thinking the case was in the box since the product pics showed it, but it arrived without one. That was a while ago though, so I don’t know if they changed what’s included since then. I ended up using it mostly for hiking and beach stuff anyway, so it wasn’t a huge deal for me. If snorkeling is your main thing, I’d just double check whatever listing you’re actually buying from, since it really does seem to vary. Kind of annoying that it’s not consistent, but the camera itself has been fine for what I use it for.
Mine’s been out there since spring and the birds really do just carry on like it’s not even there. The cats took off though, so I’m happy with it. If it’s handling the cats for you that’s the main thing.
I think waiting until the fit feels totally “normal” first is backwards. The jaw position is the whole point, so if you leave it in the default spot for weeks you’re basically just getting used to the wrong setting. I’d start small adjustments sooner rather than later.
If the red light part is what’s pulling you in, I say go for it. I think the fit difference is something you’d get past in a couple nights, especially since you’re already used to sleeping with something in your mouth. The extra stuff it does is kind of the whole point of switching, right?
My dad uses his mostly in the garden and the wind never bothered him, but the birds got louder which he actually liked.
I’ve had mine for a few months now, mostly using them for work calls when I’m at home, but also on the train a couple of times. My big test was a video call while my neighbor was mowing the lawn, which is usually the thing that ruins every call for me. The other person didn’t mention it at all, which I took as a win because with my old earbuds they would’ve asked “what is that noise?” within the first minute.
I will say, they’re not magic. If you’re standing right next to a busy road or in a really loud cafe, I think some sound still gets through, but it’s way softer than what you’d expect. Like, the person on the other end can probably tell you’re not in a silent room, but they won’t hear every single car or conversation happening around you. That’s been my experience anyway.
One thing I noticed is that it sort of depends on how the earbuds sit in your ear. If I don’t get a good seal, they seem to pick up more background stuff. But when they’re snug, it’s fine. I travel with them pretty often and I’ve stopped worrying about finding a super quiet corner before taking a call, which used to be my whole routine. I’d say if your main worry is people hearing everything around you, they handle it pretty well, at least in my experience so far.
I’m going to be the odd one out here because for me the JetClean actually behaved itself on glass. I’ve used it on the big sliding door to our terrace a few times and I didn’t get the crazy splatter effect that some folks seem to run into. The spray stayed pretty tight, and as long as I kept the nozzle moving it left a fairly even coat. It wasn’t perfect, but I didn’t end up with water dripping down the frames or a mess on the floor.
I do wonder if the people having trouble are using the higher pressure setting. When I tried that once on a lower window, I could see it bouncing back a lot more. On the gentler setting it just seemed to cling to the glass and rinse off nicely. I’m not saying it’s some kind of precision tool, but for a quick balcony glass rinse it did what I wanted without turning everything into a wet disaster.
Maybe I got lucky with the angle or the distance, but for me the pattern was steady enough. I wasn’t aiming for a streak free finish either, just a decent clean, and it delivered.
I think you just have to pick what you actually want out of it. I got mine for the bedroom because the old fan was way too loud for me to sleep. It moves air, just in a softer way. Not gonna lie, I like that it doesn’t blast me all night.
I think the scent question is kinda funny because mine smelled pretty strongly right out of the package. Like I didn’t even have to open it to know it was minty. Maybe I just got a fresh batch or something, but it was definitely noticeable.
I actually think the feel is way different, like not even in the same category. My old radiator made the whole corner of the room cozy, but this thing just blows warm air right at you. If you sit close it’s great, but step back a few feet and it’s like the heat disappears.
I actually had the opposite experience, honestly. Mine sounded a bit muffled on regular calls compared to my old pair, like the mic is definitely more focused on picking up my voice for translation rather than general phone chatter. Not terrible, but I noticed it pretty quickly.
The light is actually pretty decent for a tent, I wouldn’t worry about that part. What surprised me was how much it picked up in one night, I left it hanging near the door flap and it was full of tiny gnats by morning. I guess bugs really do find it even in a small space.

What I’ve noticed is that the screen being on seems to eat a lot, even when I’m not recording. Just checking the framing for a few seconds adds up over the day. I also had Wi-Fi on by accident for part of the time, which I think made it worse. That was probably my fault though.
I’ve learned to just bring a power bank now. The battery is what it is, I guess. For short trips or casual use it’s fine, but for a full day out I wouldn’t rely on it without a backup. It’s a decent little camera for the price, but I treat the battery more like a “get you through a few hours” thing rather than an all-day thing. Curious if anyone else has gotten better results with certain settings, because I’d love to squeeze a bit more out of it.
I think the seal plays a bigger role than people give it credit for. When I first got mine, I was so careful about making sure the case was totally dry inside before closing it. Then one time I was in a rush and closed it while there was still a bit of moisture on the rubber part from rinsing it off. That’s the only time I ever saw fog. After that I just started giving it a quick shake and wipe before sealing and it’s been fine every single time. Also, I noticed the temp change thing only really bothers me when I leave it sitting in direct sun for a while. If I keep it in the shade until I’m ready to jump in, it’s clear as can be. Could just be coincidence though.
I’ve actually had pretty good luck with mine on long days out. I’m not the type to use it constantly, maybe a handful of conversations here and there, but it’s lasted me from morning until late dinner without dying. I feel like the battery complaints might come from people who are holding the button down every five minutes.

Like, I have pretty dry air in my place and waking up with that dry throat feeling was normal for me. With the Glacier Breeze going overnight, I noticed that went away pretty quickly. That alone made me keep using it even if the temperature drop wasn’t dramatic.
Placement kind of matters though. I had it on my nightstand at first and it felt like it was just blowing on my face, which was annoying. Moved it to the dresser across the room and aimed it toward the bed and that seemed to spread things out better. I keep it on medium with the water tank filled and it runs all night no problem. I’m not expecting it to replace real AC, but for a small space it does its job.
It seems like a lot of people are saying the same thing about the delay, so I’ll just add that I think the “geofence” name makes it sound fancier than it is. It’s really just a Bluetooth range alert, so once you understand that, it’s fine. I wouldn’t rely on it to be a super precise security system, but it does what it’s supposed to for a casual forgetful moment.
I think it really depends on whether you ever take the passport out of the holder. If it stays tucked in there the whole trip, then yeah, the Guardality is probably just doing the same job twice. But I actually keep my passport in the hotel room most of the time and just carry my wallet around, so the card covers me for all my other stuff like my bank card and transit pass. The passport holder only helps when the passport is actually in it, which for me is maybe 20% of the day. So I would say it isn’t redundant if you ever separate them. If you literally never take the passport out, then skip it. But if you’re like me and leave it behind sometimes, the card does pull its weight. Are you planning on carrying the passport everywhere with you?
I got one a few months back and I just plugged it into an outlet in my home office because that’s where I spend the most time. My panel is outside, so getting it near the breaker box wasn’t even an option without running a cord across the whole house. Honestly, the way I see it, the thing just needs to be plugged in somewhere that’s on the main circuit and it does its thing.
I can’t tell you if it’s doing more or less because of where it sits, but my electric bill did drop a little after the first month. I doubt the distance matters as much as people think, but if you’re worried, maybe just put it in a room that gets used a lot. That’s what I did and I’m happy with it.
