Laura CheckMemberMy fridge is pretty packed most of the time and I’m wondering if the Ozoori still does anything when it’s surrounded by food. I know it says to place it somewhere with air flow but there’s not much empty space in mine. Just curious if anyone else has a crowded fridge and still notices a difference.

MemberMine sits wedged between leftovers half the time and it still keeps things from getting that stale smell. It’s not magic if something’s already rotting in there, but I noticed a difference within a few days.

Susan KennetMemberAirflow matters less than people make it sound. I had mine tucked behind a giant tub of yogurt for a while and it still did its thing. If you’re really jammed in there, though, the boost mode seems to help.

MemberI’ve had mine crammed in next to a gallon of milk and a stack of takeout containers for about two months and it still does its job. The smell from last night’s salmon was gone by morning, which never used to happen. Crowded or not, it’s been working for me.

Ryan__TMemberIt still does something, just less. Mine gets buried under bags of frozen veggies constantly and I still notice the difference compared to when the battery dies. It’s not going to fix a fridge that’s already gross, but a full fridge isn’t a dealbreaker for me.

MemberMine still does something in a packed fridge but the difference is way smaller than when it had room. I mostly notice it on the days I remember to use boost mode after loading in a big grocery run. Otherwise it kind of just blends into the background in there.

MemberA packed fridge is exactly when I’d expect it to struggle, not keep working. The thing needs air to move through it, so if it’s buried behind a wall of containers it’s basically purifying the two inches around itself. I had mine in a fridge that was maybe half full and it did fine. Then I did a big shop and it was crammed in there and I honestly couldn’t tell it was doing anything for those two weeks. Same device, same battery, just no space. People keep saying airflow doesn’t matter but that doesn’t add up to me. If the air can’t reach the thing, what’s it actually cleaning? I’d rather leave a gap for it than pretend it’s working through a pile of Tupperware.

MemberMine did basically nothing in a packed fridge. I had it on the door shelf for a month and smells stuck around just like before. Once I cleared some space near the back it actually started working. So yeah, airflow is real.

MemberMine works fine crammed full of leftovers.

MemberMine still works in a packed fridge, but only if I keep it near the front where I can actually see it. Buried in the back it did nothing for me. Took me a while to figure that out.

MemberMine’s been sitting on a shelf wedged between a jar of pickles and some old takeout containers for about two months now. The fridge is always full because I cook a lot and hate throwing stuff out. I honestly can’t tell if it’s doing much in there. The smell situation hasn’t gotten worse, but it wasn’t terrible to begin with. What I do notice is that it keeps running and I have to charge it every few weeks, so at least the battery claim seems roughly right. But whether it’s actually cleaning the air when it’s basically buried? No idea. I mostly keep it because I got it as a gift and feel bad tossing it. If I were buying one myself I’d probably want more visible proof it’s doing something before spending money on it.

MemberThe whole “needs airflow” thing is overblown. I’ve had mine jammed in a full fridge for a couple months now and it still knocks down the onion smell just fine. If anything it seems to do more when there’s actual food in there to stink up the place.

MemberMine still seems to help even when the fridge is packed, though I keep it in the door bin where nothing really blocks it. I mostly notice that the smell after reheating fish doesn’t linger overnight anymore. That alone makes it worth leaving in there for me.

MemberCrowded fridges still get some help, just slower.

MemberAirflow talk is mostly nonsense. A full fridge is actually easier for these things since there’s less empty space to circulate through anyway. The one I had did absolutely nothing useful though, full or half empty, so I wouldn’t count on it saving anything.

MemberI really don’t think airflow matters nearly as much as people say. Mine’s been shoved in a full fridge for a while and it still handles odors fine, so I’d say just toss it in wherever.
16 de October de 2026 at 14:23 #16129
LauTopMemberI’d just leave it where it fits and not bother rearranging the whole fridge for it. Mine still did its job even when I had it tucked behind a couple of containers, so the airflow thing never seemed like a dealbreaker to me. If your fridge is always that packed, though, you might just get slower results.

MemberI have mine buried between leftovers half the time and it still keeps things from getting that nasty fridge smell. Not as fast as when I first got it maybe, but it does something. I just charge it when the light blinks and shove it back wherever it fits.
16 de October de 2026 at 16:09 #16152
coffeeandscreensParticipantMine actually got worse when the fridge was super packed, or at least it felt that way. I had leftovers stacked right against it for a couple weeks and the smell came back way faster than usual. Once I cleared a little pocket around it, things went back to normal. So yeah, it still does something, but I don’t think it’s magic in a totally jammed fridge.

MemberI kind of disagree with the whole “needs airflow” thing. Mine’s wedged in a packed fridge and it still handles the smell, so I don’t think a tight squeeze really matters much.

MemberMine actually seemed to quit doing much once I crammed the shelves too tight. I still keep it in there but I moved it to the door shelf where there’s a little breathing room, and that made a bigger difference for me than leaving it buried. If space is tight I’d just pick a spot near the front and not fuss over it.

Laura CheckMemberFigured I’d get a mix of answers, good enough for me.
