I’d probably keep the rack for stuff that doesn’t need speed and only fire up the AirdrobeX when I’m in a hurry. Trading a bit of hum for dry clothes on a rainy day sounds fair to me, but I’d still want to hear one in person before buying.
I’ve been using mine mainly for movies too and never noticed lag, but I don’t play anything fast enough to tell. If I were buying mainly for gaming I’d lean toward a fixed frame screen anyway. The ScryneX seems more about being easy to move around.
I went from planning to load a bunch of my own stuff onto it to just leaving the thing alone. When I was looking at it before buying, “additional game downloads supported” was one of the things that pushed me toward it, since I figured I’d customize the list eventually. After a couple months of actually using it, that interest mostly faded. The built-in lineup covers way more than I expected, so the itch to add anything just kind of went away on its own.
I did open up the file side once out of curiosity, poked around for a few minutes, then closed it and went back to playing. Nothing about it felt impossible, I just couldn’t be bothered once I saw how much was already there. So my take shifted from “this needs my own games” to “this is fine as is.”
If adding stuff is a big deal for you, I’d still check how the folders are laid out on whatever version you get, since that part seems to vary. For me it stopped being the deciding factor.
Mine handles protein powder fine but matcha still needs a quick shake first. The stirrer alone left small clumps at the bottom for me. So it depends which powder you care about more.
If it’s the Bluetooth side of it you’re asking about, that’s the part I’d focus on. From what I gather these tags don’t have their own GPS, so mid-flight tracking isn’t really the point. The value is more about the airport side of things. If your bag gets sent to the wrong carousel or someone grabs it by mistake, you’ve got a last known spot to work with, and that’s usually enough to sort it out with staff.
The thing I keep going back and forth on is battery. A CR2032 that lasts a few months sounds fine for keys, but for a bag that sits in a closet between trips, I’d rather not have to remember to swap it before every holiday. That’s my main hold-up, not the flight tracking. Curious whether people actually get close to six months or if that’s optimistic.
The switching is not the issue for me, it is the initial connection to the laptop that I find annoying. It works, but sometimes I have to go into the Bluetooth settings and click it manually because it does not auto-connect right away. Once it is on, it stays on fine, but that first step can be a bit of a tap dance.
I keep mine in the glovebox and only break it out for door dings and bumper scuffs, so maybe 10 times over six months. No haze on my daily. The one thing I’d say is if you’re pressing hard enough to get out a deeper mark, you’re probably doing more than the clear coat wants. That’s where I’d be careful.
I’m guessing it’s just how they are. I mostly use mine indoors for calls and even then people mention some extra room noise coming through. I’d like an app setting to tone it down, but I haven’t found one that does much for calls. Street use would probably be worse for sure.
I’d probably just buy it and see. Worst case you spend some time figuring out the file structure, but that’s part of the fun for me. If you’re not into tinkering at all, maybe it’s not the right pick.
I haven’t found it that bad, but I only fill it once in the morning and again after lunch. If I had to top it off every couple of hours I’d probably feel different. Maybe running it less often is the trick, but the constant mist does seem like a lot of babysitting.
I’d plan on buying one. The box has the essentials you need to start using it, but a card is not part of the deal. I got mine as a gift and had to run out before I could even test it, which was a bit of a hassle. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but it does feel like they could have thrown in a small one just to get people going.
If you’re already ordering, just add a decent card to the cart. It’s one less stop and you’ll need it right away anyway, especially if you want to shoot in 4K. I wouldn’t grab the cheapest one either, since you’ll probably want the space for longer trips.
The difference is pretty obvious once you hold it. It’s not just a smaller opening, the water comes out with way more authority and you can feel the kickback in your hand. I think you’d be satisfied with it for the driveway, just don’t expect pressure washer levels of power.
I kinda zoned out on the replies but the phone reminder idea is probably what I’ll steal. I’m not patient enough to wait for my water to feel weird, I just want a set it and forget it thing. Good enough for me.
Mine was pretty much fine from night one. I know a lot of people talk about an adjustment period, but I didn’t really get that. It just felt like a firmer version of what I was already using, so there wasn’t much to get used to.
I’d say the spray’s still worth bringing, but the light does cut down on stuff buzzing around the tent area.
I haven’t tried a TENS unit so I can’t compare directly, but the vibration on this is more of a slow pulsing push into your back than a buzz. It’s more like lying on one of those massage chairs at the mall than any kind of electrical zap. Took me a couple sessions to get used to the traction part, but the vibration itself was never weird for me.
I haven’t had fogging issues, but I also don’t leave the case closed up for long before hitting the water. The one time I saw moisture inside was after I sealed it while the camera was still warm from charging. That seemed to do it.
The included SIM is basically just prefilled so you get data right after unboxing, but the slot is a standard one. You can take it out and drop in whatever SIM you want. Just make sure the device is unlocked before you rely on that, because some sellers lock the hardware even if the SIM is removable.
I’m still deciding on the AerioQ so I’ve been watching these range complaints closely. For a wall unit, I’d expect the remote to work from anywhere in the room without aiming it like a TV remote. That said, I’ve seen enough people say it’s just a quirk that I’m not ruling it out yet.
I like that it works without messing with settings. That was my main worry too. Seems like a decent setup for casual use, though I still wonder if the translation lags more in single mode or not.
