Steam gets most of my stovetop messes without any spray, but for baked on grease I still grab the oven cleaner. I haven’t fully stopped buying the usual stuff, just cut back a lot.
The mask on mine definitely feels less stiff than the old red style. I tried the adult one on myself for a second and it sat a lot easier around the jaw. Can’t say how it does on someone actually choking since I haven’t had to use it, but just wearing it felt way less awkward.
I think it’s fine for a home office if you’re just trying to stay comfortable at your desk. I’ve had mine since last fall and it’s been running most mornings without any issues. It’s not going to warm up the whole room evenly but that’s not really what it’s for.
I’d push back a bit on the idea that you need to sort your plumbing out first. Not saying weak pipes aren’t a thing, but in my last place the pressure was rubbish and it turned out the old shower head was just clogged up with limescale. Swapped it for a cheap filtered one, not this exact model, and the flow felt noticeably better straight away. So sometimes the head really is part of the problem, not just a band aid.
That said, I wouldn’t expect miracles from the micro pressurization thing. It’s not going to turn a weak trickle into a power shower. If yours is really bad, a new head probably won’t magically fix it. But if it’s just a bit soft, I don’t think it would make it worse either. Worst case you’re out a few quid and you’ve got softer water, which is its own thing anyway.
Socks on is fine in my experience, but I still notice more when I’m barefoot. If taking socks off all day sounds annoying, I’d just leave them on and not stress it.
I haven’t paid for it and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything important. When a bird shows up I still get a notification and can watch the clip, I just don’t get the name handed to me. Half the time I’m not even sure the names would be right anyway, so I just snap a pic and figure it out later.
I’d leave the jaw setting alone for another week or two and just focus on getting the fit comfortable first. Messing with the advancement too early is how people end up with sore mornings and give up on the thing. Get used to wearing it, then start turning.
Mine actually dried out faster with the fan on, which I didn’t expect. The water was gone by morning instead of lasting most of the night like usual. Could’ve just been a dry week here though.
I think it really comes down to where you usually keep stuff in your fridge. Mine is one of those older apartment fridges where the shelves are not adjustable at all, so I was a bit concerned too. What I found is it actually fits nicely on the door shelf, like the one where you keep small bottles or butter. It doesn’t roll around or block anything there.
I tried the top shelf first and it did get in the way of taller containers, but the door spot worked out perfect. It’s pretty lightweight so it hasn’t fallen off or anything even when I open the door a bit too fast. The only small annoyance is that I have to remember to grab it when I’m doing a deep clean, because otherwise it just sits there and I forget it exists until I notice the little light. But space-wise, once I moved it to the door, it stopped being an issue entirely.
I actually started out doing mine on bare skin like you, but switched it up after a few weeks. I found that putting a really thin layer of a hydrating toner or essence on first made the mask sit more comfortably and my skin felt less tight afterward. Not a serum or anything thick, just something watery enough to soak in fast. Then I do the mask and follow up with my usual stuff after.
I don’t think you’re missing out on anything major by doing it the way you are. The light still gets through fine on clean skin. For me it was more about comfort than results. I haven’t noticed a huge difference in how my skin looks between the two ways, honestly. If your current routine feels good and you’re seeing what you want, I would just keep it simple.
I think a lot of people expect it to fix chains that are already way past saving, and that’s just not what any sharpener is for. If your chain has busted teeth or deep chips, nothing’s going to bring it back. But if by “old” you just mean a chain that’s been used a bunch and hasn’t seen a file in a while, I don’t see why it wouldn’t handle it. Mine had some pretty uneven wear and it took a few extra passes on the bad spots, but it cut fine afterwards. The trick is not expecting one run to make it perfect. You gotta check your work and go over it again if needed. I’d say grab it and try it on your worst chain first. If it can make that one cut straight again, you’re good. If it can’t, then that chain was probably done anyway.
Honestly I never paid much attention to it until you mentioned it. Mine does seem to take a touch longer on the firmer synthetic ones but it still gets through them without me having to push down or anything. Maybe just a bit more patience is all it needs.
I think people get too hung up on what “4K” means on these things. It’s an HDMI output, not a graphics card. The real question is whether the games look acceptable on a modern screen, and for me they do.
I’ve got one hooked up to my living room TV and the picture is perfectly playable. Not crisp like a modern game obviously, but it doesn’t look like a blurry mess either. The upscaling smooths out the rough edges enough that you just get on with playing. I’d say it looks better than plugging an original console in without any kind of converter, which is what I used to deal with.
If you’re the type who obsesses over pixel perfection and scanlines, this isn’t for you. But if you just want to sit down and play some old games without fiddling, it does the job. The settings are basically set and forget.
I had it plugged in right by my pillow for a few nights and the fan noise was never the issue for me. The hum is low and steady, but the thermostat clicking when it kicks on and off did wake me up once or twice. If you’re a really light sleeper, that might get you more than the actual fan sound.
I actually found it fine for the short stuff, but the battery life caught me off guard. I took it out for a day of sightseeing and it was dead by early evening. If you’re out all day, you’re still reaching for your phone anyway, so that kind of defeated the purpose for me.
My buddy had a similar device on his truck and when he brought it in for warranty work the dealer literally didn’t care at all. They were more focused on the actual issue than scanning the OBD port for extra stuff. I feel like unless you’re trying to claim something that’s directly related to the device messing up, you’re probably fine.
Battery drop after a few months is pretty much expected with anything rechargeable, in my experience. Mine’s not as good as day one either, but it still gets me through the week with normal use. I just plug it in when I notice the intensity feeling weaker mid-session.
I think people are overthinking the scent thing a little. You can smell it through the pouch, for sure. It’s not going to fill your whole garage before you even open them, but you won’t have to stick your nose right up to it to know it’s there either.
Yeah I’ve got a pair of prescription frames that are pretty wide, mostly because I need the bigger lenses for my prescription. They fit fine, but the nose bridge sits a bit snug against the frame. Not uncomfortable, just takes a second to get them settled right. I’d say if your glasses are super thick at the arms you might notice it more, but for wide lenses it’s not a dealbreaker.
If they were near the water, I’d say they’re probably gone for good. Wet sand packs down hard and the tide just keeps shifting stuff around, so after a week, that key set is likely way deeper than you think. I lost a pair of sunglasses once in the dry sand and even that took a metal detector to find, so wet sand near the water is a whole different story.
If you’re really attached to the keys, it wouldn’t hurt to swing by with a rake and just mess around the area for a bit, but I wouldn’t block out an afternoon for it. The new set is the practical move. At least you know for sure where those are, right? Next time, maybe toss them in a ziplock or a pocket that actually closes before you hit the shoreline.
I swapped my old yellow ones for these mainly because the yellow pair kept making everything look kinda muddy at dusk. With PolorVision I noticed the edges of the road and signs seem to have a bit more definition, especially during that gray twilight time. Not life changing, but I’d say it’s a step up.
I’d guess it depends on how narrow yours is. I’ve got a small saw too and it clamped on alright, but it wasn’t as snug as I expected. Still did the job for me though.
I think I saw the replacement packs going for around 15 to 20 bucks, which seems pretty standard for these shower heads. Not totally sure how often you’d need to swap them, but if the pressure stays fine for months like people are saying, it probably works out cheaper than dealing with the spots.
