Huh, that’s good to know. I’ve been looking at these mats but stuff like that makes me hesitate a bit. Not that a faint mark is the end of the world, but I’d rather not have to worry about my floor if I’m spending that much. Still seems like a neat product otherwise.
I’ve only used mine a couple times so far, so I can’t really say if you get used to it or not. I just put my elbow on the table and that helped a bit, but I wasn’t going for that long. Seems like one of those things where you just have to stop and shake your hand out every now and then.
I’ve played around with the listen and repeat mode on mine a bit, and it seemed to pick up what I was saying more often than not. I wasn’t always sure if it was grading my pronunciation or just reacting to any sound, but it didn’t really matter for my purposes. I mainly just wanted to hear the phrase spoken back clearly so I could mimic it, and that part worked fine. I wouldn’t overthink it if you’re just running through a few phrases before a trip.
I keep wondering whether these mini units actually cycle the air properly or if they just end up cooling the spot right in front of them. I’d probably want it more for humidity control than freezing cold, but I’m not sure they handle that well either.
The vents are fine, not really something I’d stress over. If your mouth falls open, they probably help a bit, but I wouldn’t expect them to fully stop mouth breathing. Seems like a minor feature, not a big deal either way.
I get the worry, but from what I’ve seen these things are pretty gentle on power draw. I’ve run mine on and off for a few weeks now and haven’t noticed any jump in my bill, even when I forget to turn it off overnight. It’s honestly a nice bonus since it’s not like a real AC unit that sucks up juice.
I’ve been wondering the same thing with my cockapoo. I usually just go by how the fur feels around his face and paws, if it’s poking him in the eye or getting matted behind his ears I book it in. For me that tends to be around every 9 weeks or so, sometimes longer if I keep up with brushing at home.
I’ve only used mine for music and maps so far, so I haven’t run into that issue myself. Kind of makes sense though, video streaming over wireless is probably pushing it more than audio only. I’d still be a little curious if it’s consistent across all video apps or just some of them.
Bluetooth is all it needs. I’ve been using mine for a couple weeks and haven’t even tried connecting it to WiFi.
I think a lot of these portable coolers get overhyped, but the truth is they work best in certain conditions. If your room is already humid, you’re basically just getting a fan with extra steps.
I’d think it probably works the same either way since it’s passive, but thick cases can be weird sometimes with signal stuff. I just stuck mine directly on the phone itself to skip the guesswork. Seems fine so far.

It’s fine for a medium room. I’ve got mine pointed at a chair from maybe 12 feet away and it’s clear enough to tell if someone is sitting there. People expecting cinema quality from a tiny camera are missing the point. Just set it up and see if it works for your couch, it probably will.
I haven’t had mine long enough to say for sure, but so far the remote seems to hold up fine for daily use. I can go several days without charging and it’s still showing plenty of battery. Not something I’d call a hassle.
I dunno, I actually kind of disagree. I tried stretching mine out and after about six weeks the water just tasted kind of blah to me. Not gross, just not as crisp. So I just stuck with the four week thing after that.
I feel like people are making wool drying sound like rocket science or something. It’s just warm air moving around, not a spin cycle. If you set it low and don’t let it run for hours I doubt you’d have much of an issue.
Depends how thorough you are I guess. I’d probably just time it for a quick wash and top up the battery if needed between rinses. Seems like most people get through a car without much fuss.
Honestly I think it depends how close you’re willing to sit to it. Mine’s in a room with zero ceiling insulation and it keeps me cool enough if I’m within a few feet, but the far side of the room barely feels it. Still better than sweating through the night though, so I’d say it’s worth a try.
I think it’d probably do alright for a workshop, especially if you’re just hitting the dusty spots and not trying to clear out piles of wood scraps. The runtime might be a little short if you’ve got a big space, but it seems like it’d be handy for a quick blast now and then.

I’ve been wondering the same thing honestly. I got one mostly for the heart rate and sleep tracking and the blood glucose thing feels like a bonus I don’t fully trust yet. I haven’t compared it to a regular meter but mine seems to show numbers that at least don’t jump around randomly so maybe it’s doing something right.
