I would just grab one before the camera gets there. It’s one of those things where if it does come with one, you’re not out much since you’ll probably need a bigger card eventually anyway.

I actually like that it doesn’t always match my mood. For me it’s been a better early warning system than how I feel in the moment. There’s been a few times where it flagged high stress and I brushed it off, then crashed a day later. I treat it more like a background clue than something to check when I’m already worked up.

Mine felt heavier in the hand until I loosened my grip, then it evened out.

The one-pull thing depends a lot on what you’re dealing with. If it’s a small object that’s not wedged in too tight, yeah, it can clear it fast. Bigger or softer stuff might take a couple of tries. We keep one in the car and one in the kitchen, but I’d never expect it to be a single guaranteed pull every time.

Honestly I’d say just grab a cheap one regardless. These handhelds usually come with that thin plastic film that’s more for keeping the screen clean in the box than surviving daily use. I learned that the hard way with a different console years ago, so now I just assume I need to buy my own.

I think the battery dying is probably the bigger issue than heat if you’re going for a few hours straight. Mine has gotten noticeably warm to the touch but never enough to worry me, it just drains pretty fast when it’s recording nonstop.

Makes sense, figured it was probably something like that. Good to know it’s not just mine being weird. I’ll give it a few more runs and see if it clears up.
