I keep mine clipped to the gear loft and it’s fine for reading a few pages before bed. Not as bright as a real lantern but it’s one less thing to pack, which matters more to me. The repellent part I can’t really vouch for, but the light alone made it worth keeping in my bag.
Ended up just clipping it to my bag strap where it stays visible, works fine for me. Good to know the noise carries either way though, takes some pressure off getting the placement perfect.
Mine mostly stay parked in the quiet setting too. I travel a lot for work so I end up wearing them in hotel rooms, rental cars, random waiting areas, and honestly the one-on-one talking thing is where I notice them most. Not because voices suddenly sound amazing, but because I stop having to ask people to repeat themselves as often. That alone is worth it for me.
I did try flipping through modes the first week and then just kind of stopped. Social mode was fine but I didn’t feel like it made enough of a difference to bother, and switching stuff around while someone is mid sentence is annoying. So they just live on quiet mode now unless I’m watching TV.
For a plain room with two people it’s a subtle improvement, not a magic fix. If your hearing is only a little off you might not notice much. But if you’re constantly leaning in or guessing at words, it takes the edge off.
I keep mine in my travel bag and use it for quick dust stuff in hotel rooms and the car, so I get the whole “is this overkill” question. For garage shelves I think it works as long as you use the variable trigger and don’t just hold it wide open. The one thing I’d say is it kicks up more than a cloth would, so if the dust is really settled in, you’ll see it float around for a second before it clears. But for light dust on open shelves it’s fine. Tight corners are actually where mine does better than I expected since the nozzle gets in there. Runtime is short though, so don’t plan on doing a whole garage in one go. I usually just do a section, put it back on the charger, and grab it next time.
Mine pulls in bugs fine with a bit of ambient light, so I don’t think pitch black is a requirement. I’ve used it in hotel rooms where light leaks under the curtains and it still caught stuff.
I use mine mostly for protein powder and it handles that way better than I expected. The clumps were my main worry too since I usually mix shakes in a shaker bottle and hate when you get those dry pockets stuck to the sides. With the MixMate I just hit the button a couple times while I’m getting my stuff together and it comes out pretty smooth. Not totally perfect every single time but close enough that I stopped dragging the shaker bottle around on trips. That’s really why I keep using it, it’s one less thing to pack and rinse out. For matcha I can’t really say since I don’t drink it, but if it’s anything like protein powder I’d guess it does fine as long as you don’t dump everything in at once.
I don’t think the in-air part matters that much. I used mine on a couple of trips and it was more about seeing that the bag made it to the right city, not tracking it mid-flight. For that it did the job fine.
Mine wouldn’t stay on a curved case at all, peeled up within a day. On a flat spot it’s fine, but those little rounded cases are a no go in my experience.
I actually keep my ceiling fan on low and the AiraBreeze pointed toward the bed, and it’s been fine. The fan doesn’t really fight it in my setup, it just keeps the air from feeling stale. Last summer I had mine in a hotel room with no ceiling fan at all and honestly the cooled air just kind of hovered in one spot, so the fan actually helped spread it around. That said, if your fan is blasting on high right over the unit, that might be a different story. Mine is a slow spin so it doesn’t bother anything. I’d say try it with the fan on for a night and see how it feels. If the cooling seems weaker, turn the fan off. If it feels fine, leave it. Not really a big deal either way in my experience.
I don’t really switch mine while it’s running. Not that it won’t do it, I just find it easier to pause for a second and flip the head. The motion is a bit awkward if the brush is spinning, at least for me. Takes two seconds anyway.
The way you’re doing it sounds pretty standard to me. I think the order matters less than just making sure your face is clean and dry so the light can actually get through. I’ve been using it for a few months now and I just stick to cleansing first and then moving on to everything else after. It’s been working fine.
Honestly I’d say it depends more on how the chain got worn than how old it is. If it’s just dull from normal use, it’ll probably do fine. But if you’ve got a chain that’s been abused or bent out of shape, no sharpener is gonna fix that.
I think it just depends on the cork. I’ve opened plenty of synthetics with mine and it’s been fine, but every once in a while you get one that’s a bit denser and you can tell it’s working harder. As long as it gets through it, I don’t sweat it.

I just buy the replacement cartridges in a two pack and keep a spare in the bathroom cabinet. Every time I swap one in, I write the date on the new cartridge with a marker. That way I just glance at it when I’m in there and know if it’s getting close to three months.
It works fine with tap water. I wouldn’t overthink it, honestly. The UV light is just doing its thing inside the bottle, it doesn’t really know if the water came from a sink or a store. I’ve been using mine with regular tap water since I got it, mostly just at work and when I’m out running errands, and it’s been fine.
The main thing to keep in mind is that it’s not a filter. It’s just zapping bacteria and keeping the bottle from smelling funky. So if you’re worried about what’s already in your tap water, like heavy metals or whatever, that’s not what this does. But if you’re just trying to keep your water from tasting stale and the bottle from getting gross, it does the job. I didn’t buy it expecting it to turn sink water into fancy spring water, I just wanted something that didn’t smell like old gym bag after a day. It’s been good for that.
I’ve had mine sitting on a shelf near the fence and it does catch the neighbor’s dog from a pretty good distance, but I wouldn’t expect it to be perfect at the full 10 meters. It’s more reliable when the dog is within a few meters of it. If you can position it somewhere central, you’ll probably get decent coverage without having to stand around aiming it.
I’ve definitely noticed that with mine too. It’s not super strong or anything, but after a few hours the room does feel a bit heavier than before. I just assumed it was because the air isn’t moving as much in a smaller space. Doesn’t bother me much either, but you’re not imagining it.
Phone’s not mandatory but I honestly can’t imagine using mine without it. I fly from my car a lot between jobs and the live view is the whole reason I grabbed this thing. Without the app you’re just recording and hoping for the best. I would say plan on using it.
I’ve got one hooked up to an old 1080p set in my guest room and it’s been perfect. The games are retro anyway so they don’t need a fancy screen to look right. If anything, it kind of fits the vibe of an older TV better.
It’s funny, I actually almost didn’t buy this thing because I read a few complaints about breakers tripping. My place isn’t super old but it’s not new either, so I was a little wary. Ended up getting one anyway because I needed something small for my studio and honestly I’ve had zero issues with it so far. That said, I get why older wiring would be a problem. My parents have a house from the 60s and even a toaster will make the lights flicker over there. I think with any heater it’s just kind of a gamble depending on what circuit you’re on. I’ve had a much bigger space heater trip a breaker at a friend’s place, but the same heater worked fine at mine. It’s almost never the device itself, it’s just how the place is wired.
I’d say if it’s tripping on the same outlet every time, it’s probably that circuit being overloaded or just worn out. Maybe try plugging it into a different room or a different breaker and see if it still happens. If it doesn’t, then you know the heater’s not the problem. But I wouldn’t blame the Keilini right away. Mine’s been solid and I’d probably buy it again if I needed another one.
It does loosen up a little, but not dramatically. I’ve had mine for about five weeks now and the first couple of weeks were pretty similar to what you’re describing, really snug in the morning. Somewhere around the three week mark I stopped noticing it as much. I think part of it is the material softening but honestly a lot of it was just my jaw getting used to it.

I think the pads on these newer units just have a different feel to them, yeah. I had an old TENS years back and the gel pads were almost spongy, these are more like a sticker. Mine have held up okay for about a month of regular use, but I do find they slide around a bit more if I’m moving while using it. I usually just use mine sitting at a desk or on the couch, so it’s not a huge deal for me.
What I did notice is that they seem to pick up lint or dust a lot faster than the older ones. If I toss the device in my bag without the pads covered, they’re pretty much done after that. I just keep the plastic film over them when I store it and they last longer. Probably not the same as your old unit, but they get the job done.
