MemberI’ve been thinking about getting some Translattia earbuds but I’m worried about the fit. My ears are on the smaller side and a lot of earbuds just pop out after a bit. Anyone here wear them for a while? Just wondering if they stay put during normal stuff like walking or sitting at a desk.

MemberMine stay put fine for desk work and walking around the house. I do have to twist them in a bit more than other buds I’ve had, but once they’re seated they don’t budge.

Matt__MemberMine actually fit my small ears better than the last two pairs I tried, mostly because the nozzle isn’t as chunky. They survived a whole flight without falling out, which is more than I can say for my old ones.

StanMemberMy ears are pretty small and I’ve had the same issue with buds popping out, so I get the concern. These have been fine for me though. I wore them through a couple of long train rides and a lot of walking around hotels and they stayed in without me messing with them. The shape just seems to sit in my ear better than the rounder ones I’ve tried before.
One thing I noticed is they don’t feel like they’re jammed in there, which is usually what makes mine slip out after an hour or so. These I can keep in for a while without that annoying pressure feeling.
Sitting at a desk or just wandering around, no problems at all. I haven’t tried running or anything sweaty with them so I can’t speak to that. But for normal everyday stuff they’ve held up okay for me.

Sam ReadsMemberSmall ears here too and fit is usually hit or miss for me. I don’t have these myself but I borrowed a pair from a friend for an afternoon, mostly sitting and talking, and they stayed in without me fiddling with them. That’s more than I can say for a couple of other buds I’ve tried. The tip size matters more than anything, so if the stock ones don’t work there’s usually a smaller option in the box. Walking around should be fine based on what I felt, maybe not for a run though. I didn’t test that.

MemberSmall ears here, foam tips are a must for me.

MemberThe biggest difference I noticed is that they sit shallower in my ear than my old buds, which actually helped since my ear canals are pretty narrow. I wore them through a couple of long errand runs and they never worked their way loose.

MemberMine popped out constantly. Small ears here too, and no amount of twisting kept them in during a walk. Ended up back in the case after a week.

MemberIf I were in your spot, I’d probably just order them and hang onto the receipt, since fit is one of those things nobody can really predict for you. My own experience has been decent though. I’ve got smaller ears and I wore them through a couple of long study sessions plus a walk to the store, and they stayed in the whole time without me fiddling with them. Not saying they’re glued in or anything, but they didn’t do that slow slide out thing I usually get. What surprised me is that they didn’t feel sore after a few hours, which is normally my bigger problem with buds that actually stay put. So for me the fit side has been fine, and I’d buy them again if I lost this pair. The translation stuff is what I’m still playing around with.

MemberFit is such a weird thing with earbuds because ear size doesn’t even tell the whole story. I’ve got small ears but my left canal is apparently a totally different shape than my right, so what stays put on one side slides around on the other. That’s the part that makes me hesitate with any new pair, Translattia included. Reading these replies, it sounds like some people with small ears are totally fine and others pop out, which tracks with my own history. I don’t think small ears automatically means a bad fit, it’s more about whether the nozzle shape happens to match your ear. For desk stuff I’d guess most buds are fine, it’s walking and turning your head where things get tested. I’m still on the fence myself, mostly because I’ve been burned before by “one size fits most” claims.

MemberMine stay in fine for normal stuff like walking around the house or sitting at my desk, which is mostly what I use them for anyway. I’ve got pretty average ears though, so I can’t really say how they’d do on smaller ones. They’re light enough that I forget I’m wearing them half the time.

AnnaKParticipantFit really does come down to the individual ear. I used to think I just couldn’t wear earbuds at all because so many would work loose on me, but what actually made the difference was the tip shape rather than the bud itself. I do better with the flatter, oval style tips than the round ones most companies seem to default to. Round ones slide out of my right ear within minutes, but the flatter ones hold for hours.
That’s my main thing when I look at any earbud now, honestly, before I even care about battery or sound. If the tip doesn’t match my ear shape it’s a nonstarter no matter how good everything else is.
So I’d say check what kind of tips these come with and whether there are alternate sizes in the box. That tells you more than any general “fits small ears” claim, because small ears can mean a shallow outer ear or a narrow canal and those need different things.

Kevin CMemberSmall ears here and they stayed in fine.

MemberSmall ears over here too and the fit worked out way better than I expected. What actually sold me is that they sit pretty light, so after an hour or two I kind of forget they’re in. That alone made them stay put way more than the chunkier ones I’ve tried.

MemberIf it helps, I’d skip them if small ears are your main worry. I borrowed a pair from a coworker for a couple of days on a work trip, mostly for the translation side of things, and the fit was the one part I couldn’t get past. They didn’t fall out exactly, but they never felt locked in either, and I kept nudging them back while I was just standing around talking to people. Walking through an airport was worse. That said, I don’t think it’s a small ears issue on its own, because the shape of the housing matters more than the size of your ear. Mine are pretty average and I still had trouble. If I were you I’d try to test a pair in person before buying, or at least make sure returns are easy. I sent mine back and went with something flatter.

MemberAppreciate all the input, definitely gave me more to go on than I expected. Sounds like it varies enough that I’ll just have to try a pair and see how they do on my end. Anyway, thanks again for chiming in.
