I get where you’re at. I switched from a basic builder-grade head to a filtered one about four months ago, not the Glokore specifically but the same idea, and the first couple weeks I was second-guessing whether I’d wasted money. Water felt a little softer but I couldn’t tell if it was in my head.
What actually convinced me was my hair. Around week four or five I noticed it was less crunchy after drying, and my scalp wasn’t itchy the way it used to get in winter. That’s the thing that made it feel real to me, because I wasn’t expecting it and wasn’t looking for it. The water itself still just feels like water. I don’t think you’d ever walk in and go wow, this is filtered. It’s more of a slow background thing.
The other tell was the cartridge when I swapped it out. It had visible gunk on it, brownish stuff, and that was from water I’d been showering in for months with the old head. Seeing that made me feel like it was doing something, whether or not I could feel it day to day.
So for me the swap was worth it, but not because the shower feels dramatically different. It’s the stuff you notice weeks later that you didn’t realize was a problem before. Two weeks in is probably too early to feel strongly either way.
The whole condensation thing is overblown. I’ve never used anything under mine and the carpet has stayed dry. If the tank is sealed right, it’s not going to sweat through the bottom onto the floor.
I ran mine on a smaller trimmer for a while and what I noticed is that the plate needs to sit flat before anything else matters. If there’s grass or grit stuck under it, you can crank all you want and it still won’t seat right. I clean the spindle threads with a rag first, spin the head on by hand until it stops, then just lean into it a bit with the wrench. Not a full send, just enough that it doesn’t budge. Mine’s been on for about three months of cutting around a fence line and it hasn’t moved. Stripped threads come from cross-threading or junk in there, not from normal tightening.
I’d figure out how long you can realistically stay put before anything else. Ours turned into three days with no power and the cat was fine, but I was not, so now I plan around leaving earlier instead of stretching supplies.
I don’t think it’s the huge upgrade people make it out to be. Passing a device is annoying, sure, but at least you both see the same screen and can point at it. With earbuds you’re relying on the other person trusting whatever they hear.
I still wipe down whatever I steam with a cloth afterward, so I never counted on it killing everything. Hot steam loosens crud fine, but sanitizing is a bigger claim than I’d take on faith. If that’s the main reason you want one, I’d look elsewhere.
I mostly use mine as a backup too. The catch is the monthly plan still runs whether you use it or not, so it sits there costing money for maybe two outages a year. That part bugs me more than the roaming thing.
Files are fine for quick touch ups, but I’ve had better luck with a stone once the chain is really dull. A file just doesn’t cut it when the teeth are rounded over. My dad always carried both and used the stone more than I expected.
If you’re mostly doing veg, the main thing to think about is knife feel, not bacteria. I had a thin metal-ish board for a while and carrots and potatoes were fine, but anything with a bit of give like tomatoes or peppers felt different, like the blade was landing on a hard counter instead of biting in. Some people don’t care, some do. The smell thing is real though, I’ll give it that. My old board took on a garlic smell after a few months and no amount of washing got it out. That’s the one part of the pitch I actually believe. But if your current board doesn’t stink and you’re not cutting meat, the titanium angle is mostly just paying extra for a surface that dries fast. Rinsing and drying it is easy, I’ll say that much.
I don’t have one but this is my main question too. Holding a phone up to an amplified ear sounds like a mess, so I’d want to know if people actually do it or just take it out. Sounds like it depends on the person from what I’m reading.
A wire head doesn’t care if your trimmer is bump feed. The bump part is just the spool, and that comes off with the head. So no, you don’t need a straight shaft.
I’ve had mine about four months and haven’t replaced anything yet. The cord still feels solid where it clips onto the mat, so I just leave it alone. If it ever stops working I’ll deal with it then.
Still deciding on one myself. The light being on constantly is one of the things I keep coming back to, since I mostly just want step and sleep tracking. If it stays on even when you’re not moving, that feels like a design choice rather than an oversight. Curious whether it dims at all after a while.

I don’t think that’s normal. Mine reaches from the next room over without any issue, so yours might just have a weak remote or a bad unit.
Kinda curious if this varies by retailer or batch or whatever. I haven’t bought a pair yet, but I was leaning toward them mostly because they’re supposed to fit over regular glasses. The no case thing is making me hesitate a little, not gonna lie. I keep my current sunglasses in a hard case in the door pocket, and they’ve survived a couple of years that way. If these are meant to live in the car, bare plastic lenses bouncing around with coins and trash is asking for scratches. I get that they’re not expensive, but a cheap microfiber pouch costs them pennies. Might just grab a generic case off Amazon and call it a day, but it would’ve been nice to not have to think about it. Guess I’ll factor that into the total price before I order.
The “156 languages” thing sounds more impressive than it is in practice. I scrolled through the list once and yeah, the small ones are there, but they’re basically just speech-to-text placeholders. If your trip involves anything outside the usual tourist languages, I wouldn’t count on it being smooth.
Streaks usually mean the glass was warmer than the steam or the window had some kind of residue. I have used mine on a few windows and the trick was to do a quick pass with a dry microfiber while it was still damp. Once it fully dries on its own, it is always a gamble.
Honestly it’s just a different kind of heat. The radiator soaked the whole room slowly and evenly, this thing is more directional. If you sit near it you’ll feel it fast, but it doesn’t creep into the corners the same way.
I get the gray tint thing. My pull-down in the basement has it and it does help when the lights are on. The ScryneX isn’t that kind of material, it’s much more of a straight white surface. In a bright living room you will see the difference, especially if your projector isn’t super bright. It’s fine for darker rooms though.
I got one a few months back and mostly use it with tap water. Worked fine for me, no weird taste or anything. I did notice the bottle itself starts to smell if I leave water in it too long without running the cycle, but that’s on me, not the water source.

I’d be more worried about the app than the Bluetooth pairing itself. The earbuds connect like any other set, but the translation stuff only works through their app, so if your Android runs that fine you’re good. I had more trouble with the app being clunky than with the actual connection.
The bucket thing is less about pressure loss and more about keeping the intake filter submerged. If the water gets low and the hose end sucks air, you’ll lose prime and have to mess with it for a minute to get it going again. I ran mine from a 20 litre bucket to do a quick rinse on my patio furniture and it was fine for that. The pressure is definitely softer than when it’s hooked to the hose, but for knocking dust off stuff and a fast car rinse it’s not a dealbreaker.
What caught me off guard is how quick it drains a bucket. You don’t really notice it until you look down and the water is almost gone. If you’re doing a full car wash, you’d need to refill a couple times. For a quick spray-down, it’s fine. Just keep the bucket topped up and you’re good.
