I actually prefer the fan type now. My old radiator gave me that nice baked heat but I could never leave it running in the morning without planning ahead. With this one I just flick it on when I sit down and I’m comfortable by the time my coffee’s ready.
I actually think the old red one fit me better. The new mask feels kind of squishy on my face, like it doesn’t want to stay put when I press down. I’ve only had mine a few weeks though so maybe I just need to get used to it.
Mine has held up way better than I expected, and I’ve been using it daily for a few months now. I still cut chicken and veggies on the same board like you do, and nothing has stained or lingered so far. The cleanup part is genuinely faster for me, no scrubbing marathon at the sink.
We have ours set up in the basement and I use it for gaming pretty regularly, mostly slower stuff like platformers and some racing games. I did try a round of a shooter once and something felt a little off, but then I realized I had the projector in its “cinema” picture mode which does some smoothing stuff. Switched it to game mode and it felt better. So in my case it was the projector settings, not the screen at all. Which makes sense since the screen is just a surface.
The one thing I did notice is that if the screen isn’t pulled tight, the picture kind of ripples a bit when there’s fast motion, which can make it seem like the image is lagging even though it’s really just the fabric moving. I ended up re-hanging mine with the ropes a bit tighter and that helped. Not saying that’s your issue, but it’s worth checking how taut yours is.
Other than that, I’ve had mine for a few months now and gaming on it has been totally fine. Honestly the bigger factor for me was just getting the projector positioned right so the image wasn’t washed out. Once that was sorted, everything felt normal. What kind of games are you playing on it?
Mine actually got quieter over time, weirdly enough. First few nights I noticed it a lot, now I barely register it even with the room dead silent. Maybe my brain just tuned it out eventually.
I actually ended up moving mine to the side so my chair rolls over the edge instead of the mat itself. Socks on or off has never made a difference for me either way. The cord bugged me more than anything until I got a longer one.
Mine actually did the opposite, the birds were the only ones that cleared out for a bit while the cats kept strolling through like nothing changed. Took about a week before even the birds stopped caring though. So I wouldn’t bother messing with the frequency just for them.
I actually took mine to rural Italy last month and it handled Italian fine with no signal at all, so it’s not just the super common languages like French or Spanish. My sister’s unit was a different story though, hers kept asking for a connection on the same trip. Wondering if it depends on when you bought it?
For me it was less about the overall footprint and more about where you can tuck it. I have a pretty narrow fridge and I found it fits perfectly lying flat on the top shelf right in the back corner, behind the yogurt and leftovers. It’s small enough that it doesn’t push anything forward or block airflow.
The one thing that surprised me is that it’s quite light, so if you’re constantly pulling things off that shelf you might knock it over. I ended up wedging mine between two taller bottles to keep it from rolling around whenever I dig around in there. Not a big deal, just something to keep in mind if you’re cramming stuff in. I do have to move it every time I reorganize, but it takes two seconds.

For keeping them in the car though, I’d grab something cheap. Even a soft microfiber pouch works, since the lenses are the whole point of these and it doesn’t take much for them to get micro scratches from rattling around in a glovebox or door pocket. The frames seem sturdy enough, but the lenses are what you’re paying for. What I actually found handy was one of those hard sunglass cases from an old pair I had lying around, they fit fine since these aren’t much bigger than regular shades despite the over-glasses design. If you don’t have anything, the cheap pouches on Amazon work fine and take up no space.
I noticed the same thing with mine around the second week. It felt warmer than I expected but never got to the point where I was worried about it. I just figured it was doing whatever it does with the power flow and left it alone.
The app connection is really the only step that takes any thought, and even that is just a matter of having it open before you power on. Once I did it a few times, the whole thing became a pretty mindless sequence. It definitely doesn’t eat up your whole day.

I’m a bit picky about the trigger, and the Jetterix has a nice smooth pull that feels way better than my old one.

The one thing I will say is that I’ve started keeping a separate dry cloth in the garage just for that final pass. It’s not some fancy detailing towel, just an old one I had lying around. That seems to cut down on the film showing up later, at least for me.

I think it depends on what you mean by larger. My frames are on the wider side but the arms aren’t super thick, and they fit okay. The bridge area is where I felt it gets a bit snug, so if your glasses have a really thick bridge or sit high on your face, it might push down a bit.
I honestly think it depends on how thick that buildup is. Mine had a rough layer from sitting all winter and it did cut through it, but I had to go over some spots more than once. The spinning head takes a lot of the effort out of it compared to a regular brush though. If your grates are really crusty, just know you’ll probably need to spend a little time on them, but it should handle it.

I sort of get what you mean about digital zoom feeling like a gimmick. I’ve had mine for a bit and honestly the zoom is fine when you’re not trying to push it too far. It gets the job done for spotting shapes and movement, but you’re not going to see every detail perfectly.
