I’ve been using the Glacier Breeze for a few days and it works fine. But I’m wondering if it makes the air too humid in a small room. It’s evaporative so it adds moisture. My room feels a bit clammy after a while. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?

Mine does the same thing if I leave it running in a closed room. Small space plus moisture going in and nowhere for it to go, so it builds up. I just crack a window or leave the door open when I’m using it and that mostly fixes it for me. If the room is already muggy outside, I don’t bother running it at all because it just makes things worse. Dry heat is where it actually feels like it’s doing something. So if I were you, I’d try it with some airflow first before assuming the unit is faulty. That’s the cheap test. If it’s still clammy with a window open, then it’s just the nature of these things in a tight room.

Mine doesn’t really get clammy unless I’ve got it right next to me with the water full. I’d disagree that it’s just how these things work though, because mine dries out the air a bit on the low setting. Maybe try running it without the ice chamber and see if that changes anything.

I actually prefer a little extra moisture in my room, so the clammy thing wouldn’t bug me much. Dry air messes with my throat overnight. Not sure if small rooms make it worse, but that part is just personal taste I guess.

Mine doesn’t do that at all and I run it with the tank filled. I’ve had it going for a few hours at a time in my office and the air just feels cooler, not damp. If your room is getting clammy, that’s more about the space than the unit itself.

Mine never got clammy, even in a tiny dorm room. I ran it most afternoons for about two weeks and the air just felt cooler, not wet. If anything my room dried out from the fan. So I don’t think the moisture is a given with these.

That clammy feel is just what you sign up for with an evaporative cooler. Adding moisture to a sealed room doesn’t magically stay comfortable, it builds up. I ran mine with a cracked window and it was way less gross, but then it barely cooled anything.

I usually just crack a window for a bit when mine starts feeling damp and that sorts it out for me. Not a big deal in my experience.
