The stabilizers did feel stiff to me at first, but the bigger issue was the fit. It dug into my thigh when I sat down, so I stopped using it for workouts and just wore it around the house.
My experience has been the opposite of what most people here are describing. I noticed a difference with small stuff right away, and nothing with the big appliances. My husband thinks I’m imagining it but I really don’t think so.
We have an older house and the wiring in the back bedroom is kind of sketchy. Little things plugged in back there used to act up. My bedside lamp would flicker sometimes, and my electric toothbrush charger would get weirdly warm. After we put the StopWatt in, the flickering stopped and the charger doesn’t get hot anymore. That was within the first week or two. So for me it did actually do something for the small electronics, which is kind of the opposite of the usual story.
The fridge and washer? No change that I can tell. They run the same as always. So I don’t think it’s purely about how much power something draws.
I think it depends more on what your wiring is like than on the size of the device. If your place has older or uneven wiring, you might notice it in ways other people don’t. The phone charger running cooler doesn’t sound crazy to me at all.
Mine actually does best in that half-light, so I’d say the dusk thing is overblown. I keep it by the back door and use it most evenings while the dog is out, and that soft gray window before real dark is when the picture looks cleanest to me. Once it’s properly black the image gets that washed out IR look and everything up close blows out. Bats against a pale sky show up as quick dark shapes, which is all I ever wanted from it. I’ve had mine since spring and the battery still holds a few evenings of short use, though I top it up out of habit. I do wonder sometimes if mine just happens to run a little hot on the bright side, so your mileage could vary. Anyway, for standing in the yard at dusk it’s been fine for me.
Traffic probably isn’t the main thing it cares about, but I don’t think it does much when you’re barely moving either. My mileage gains mostly showed up on open road, not in gridlock.
Oil radiators are a different animal. They heat the whole room slowly and keep giving off warmth after you turn them off. The Coolzy is more like a directed warm air thing. Mine takes maybe a minute to start blowing warm air, but it only really helps if you’re sitting near it. It doesn’t warm the whole room the way a radiator does.
For a small office where you’re at a desk most of the time, that’s actually fine. I use mine in a spare room and it takes the chill off pretty fast if I point it at myself. But if you walk out and come back ten minutes later, the room itself isn’t toasty like it would be with the radiator. So it depends what you want. Quick personal warmth, yes. Whole room heat, not really.
I use mine for movies sometimes, mostly just to follow along in a language I’m rusty on. It works better on slower scenes, and comedies with overlapping jokes get messy. Still fun for a casual watch if you don’t need every word.
I think the angle control gets oversold for normal use. The old guide is fussy but it still gets the job done, and I never felt the SawShark fixed anything that actually mattered when I was cutting. If you already know how to hold a file steady, switching doesn’t gain you much.
Mine didn’t fit without an adapter, so I’d say skip it if you want zero fuss. The threads on mine just wouldn’t catch no matter how I lined it up.
I’ve had mine for a couple months now and switching between my laptop and phone hasn’t been an issue. It does take a second to hop over sometimes, but it’s never dropped or made me re-pair. I just tap connect on whichever device I’m moving to and it’s good.
Wiping after is pretty much standard with mine. I use it on the bathroom mirror and the patio door and if I don’t do a quick pass with a dry cloth, I always see those faint lines once it cools.
Mine handles synthetic corks fine, but I can see what you mean about it feeling different. The synthetic ones always seem to grip tighter in my experience, so the motor has to work a bit harder. As long as it’s pulling straight, I don’t worry about it.
I keep mine in the little box it came in, honestly. The tips have their own slots so nothing rattles around, and the box is small enough to fit in a drawer. I wouldn’t count on it surviving a rough bag toss though.
I felt the difference right away when I first used it on my patio. The stream is much more forceful, and it actually knocked some grime off that my old nozzle just kind of pushed around. You can feel it in the hose too, so it’s not just a smaller opening.
I have mine sitting by the back door and it catches the neighbor’s dog barking from the other side of the fence pretty reliably. I don’t aim it at anything, it just sits there and does its thing. I wouldn’t count on the full 10 meters, but it definitely doesn’t need to be right next to the dog.
I mainly use mine for heating in the bedroom and honestly it’s still pretty quiet. There’s a bit more of a hum than in cooling mode, but it’s not enough to bother me when I’m falling asleep. I’d say it’s fine if you’re not super sensitive to noise.
I get it, but mine lasts me through a full day out and about without much trouble. I shoot mostly short clips too and keep the screen off when I am not using it. Maybe your battery needs a few full charge cycles to settle in, or you got a dud.
I’ve noticed the same thing actually. It’s not exactly stuffy but the air does feel warmer and less fresh after a few hours. I usually just run it for shorter bursts and it’s fine.
I tried it on a couple of light scratches that were barely there and it did take the edge off them. Not completely gone, but definitely less noticeable. I think if you can’t feel it with your nail, it’s worth a shot.
