I keep one in my glovebox for door handle scuffs, so I get the appeal. For trim though, I’d rather use a trim restorer and save the cloth for paint. Scuffs on textured plastic are a different beast.
Mine feels plenty warm to me, just in a different way. The oil one had that heavy heat that wraps around you, but the WellHeater actually gets my space comfortable way quicker, so I don’t miss the old one.
Mine works from the kitchen if I leave the door open, but closed doors seem to block it more than actual walls. Not sure why that is.
I switched to an electric one last fall mostly because my hands were getting tired with the twist handle after a couple of bottles. What surprised me was how much I noticed the difference during a dinner we hosted, not on a random weeknight. When you’re opening four or five bottles back to back while people are waiting, the twist handle used to wear my wrist out by the third one. With the WineCork Pro I just press it and move on, so that part is genuinely easier for me.
That said, it’s not like it changed my life on a single bottle. One glass on a Tuesday and I barely notice. The real payoff shows up when there’s a crowd and I’m the one doing all the opening. I also like that I don’t have to grip and twist at the same time, which was the annoying part with my old one.
Battery has held up fine so far, I charge it maybe once a month. Noise is a bit more than I expected but nothing that bothers me. So for me the answer is yes, it’s easier, but mostly in those repeated-use situations rather than a quick single cork.
I asked my septic guy about powder drain stuff last year and he said the main thing is not to go crazy with it. I’ve used SavingStars a handful of times when the shower got gross and nothing weird happened with the tank. It’s not something I’d dump in every week though.
I actually disagree that it’s terrible for stomach sleepers. I still roll onto my stomach sometimes and it’s been fine for me, just not as plush as a flat pillow. It’s not perfect in every position but it’s way better than the basic pillow I had before.
The longer I wear mine the less I notice them, but those first few days sitting down definitely had me second-guessing the fit. Once I adjusted the straps so they weren’t pulling the stabilizers tight against my leg, the digging stopped. Could just be where they land on you when you’re seated.
I’ve had mine through a couple of shorter outages and the sensors definitely kept working, which is the main thing. The screen does go dark pretty much right away though, so you’re not getting any live readings during that time. For me, that’s fine since the alarm is what matters if something actually goes wrong.
If you’re checking close enough to see uneven teeth, you’re probably looking harder than the chain cares about. I’ve sharpened maybe a dozen chains with mine and some cuts look better than others, but they all cut fine on the saw. That’s what matters to me at the end of the day.
I think a lot depends on whether you expect it to be a live tracker or just a “last seen” kind of thing. I keep mine in a card slot in my purse, and it usually shows the right general area, like the right neighborhood or the right store, but it’s not going to tell you the exact seat on a train or which room it’s in. The ping seems to update when my phone happens to pass by other Apple devices, so sometimes it feels instant and other times it lags for a few minutes. For a wallet that I mostly lose around the house or in the car, it’s fine. But if you’re picturing yourself tracking it down to the exact spot in a crowded parking lot, you might be disappointed. It gets you close, not precise.
It’s basically a small stick, so it doesn’t really have room to get dramatically hot. I’ve left mine on for weeks at a time on a less-used TV and the only time I notice any warmth is if I actually grab it, which I never do. I would not think twice about it.
I had it outside near the house while the neighbor’s dog was barking on the other side of the fence, maybe 8 meters away, and it did trigger. I didn’t have to move it closer or aim it or anything. Just left it sitting there. That said, I also noticed the dog didn’t always stop right away, so the detection part seems fine, but the reaction part is slower than you’d expect.
Mine has never actually forgotten the phone, it just occasionally takes its sweet time connecting. I’ve had it for a few months now and maybe twice it sat there for a solid minute before deciding to link up. I figure it’s just one of those quirks that happens with wireless stuff.
Mine does the same thing, especially if I leave it in Boost for a long stretch. I just figured it was the ceramic part working harder, and it’s never caused me any issues with the fridge or the food. I’d say it’s pretty normal behavior for this thing.
I’ve used mine in a few loud places and the noise reduction does help, but it’s not like it blocks everything out. The main thing I noticed is that it picks up my voice better when I talk closer to the mic, so I don’t have to repeat myself as much. In an airport cafe you’d probably be fine, just don’t expect it to work like a quiet room.
The pin on the AlarmTag is definitely easier than the old ones I’ve tried. I don’t get why people make such a big deal out of it, a quick tug and it’s out. The old ones were way more of a hassle.
The light is fine for a tent, that’s not the weak point. Honestly the zapping sound might keep you up more than the glow if you’re a light sleeper. I’d be more concerned about where you hang it so you don’t bump into it in the dark.
I’ve used the offline mode a couple of times and it’s fine for single words or very short phrases, but the moment you try to say something a bit longer it gets clunky. For a hike I’d probably just download a simple phrasebook app as a backup instead of relying on the earbuds.
It kind of depends on what you mean by light scratches. If they’re the kind you can barely catch with a fingernail, NuraFix will soften them a bit, but they won’t disappear like the paint transfer did. On my car, the deep ones just look less obvious in certain light now.
