I’ve been using mine for client calls for a few months now and the delay thing is real but not as bad as you’d think. Like there’s a pause after someone finishes talking before you get the translation, but it’s maybe a second or two. Nobody’s hung up on me yet. The bigger thing I noticed is it struggles when people talk over each other, which happens a lot on group calls. One on one it’s fine. For Spanish and French specifically I’ve had decent luck, those seem to be well supported. My Portuguese colleague is hit or miss though. If your calls are mostly one on one with the client, it’ll probably do what you need. If it’s a big group thing with people jumping in, that gets messy fast.
It’s not just you. Any fan noise gets way more noticeable at night when the room is dead quiet. If you truly need total silence to fall asleep, this kind of cooler probably isn’t going to cut it.
Mine does the same thing and it’s been plugged in for months now. Warm casing never seemed to bother it and the light stays green. I figure any device pulling power from an outlet will generate a bit of heat, that’s just how it goes.
If you’re getting full-on afternoon sun through the window, no wall unit is going to cancel that out completely. I run mine in a room that bakes from around 3pm and it does fine once the sun isn’t hitting the glass directly anymore. Before that, it’s really just keeping things from getting unbearable.
The wet grass part would be my concern too, not really the drop itself. Those remotes seem to handle a knock pretty well from what I’ve seen, but moisture is a different story.
I actually had a similar thing happen with mine, except it wasn’t grass. I left it on the patio table during a surprise shower, not even a heavy one, just enough to leave it damp. It kept working after that, but I noticed the screen started acting a bit weird a few days later. Sometimes the display would flicker or show some ghosting until it dried out completely. I think water had gotten in around the buttons somehow.
So my take is the drop is probably fine, but if it landed in wet grass, I’d dry it off thoroughly and maybe leave it in a warm spot for a while before charging it. The charging port is the weak point, honestly. I’d make sure there’s no moisture trapped in there because that’s where you’d have problems later, not right away.
Mine is still going strong months after that shower, so it’s not like it’s made of paper. But I do treat it a bit more carefully around water now. I’d say yours is probably fine, I just wouldn’t make a habit of testing it in wet conditions.
I think it depends on what you count as “working”. For me, it clears the immediate area around the light really well, but once I move a few steps away to grab my drink or sit on the other side of the fire, I’m fair game again. I just treat it as a light that happens to help a bit, not as actual full protection.
Mine does the same thing. I think it’s just the surface reacting to tap water, especially if you’re in an area with harder water. Once it’s completely dry it goes back to normal, so I never really worried about it. I wouldn’t call it sticky in a bad way, just a little grippy for a minute.
I’ve used mine on a chain that was pretty rough from hitting dirt and it did bring it back to where it was usable again. Took a bit more effort and a couple of passes per tooth, but I didn’t make it worse or anything. If the chain isn’t damaged or stretched out, I’d say give it a shot.
If you’re using a really thick shake, like with frozen fruit or a lot of peanut butter, I’d keep your expectations low. It’s not going to pulverize stuff the way a blender does. Mine handles the standard powder and milk or water mix okay, but anything past that consistency and I end up giving it a few shakes myself anyway. It’s fine for convenience, but it’s not a magic bullet.
I have mine hanging on a covered porch that only gets morning sun and the battery has been fine so far. I do plug it in occasionally when I notice the camera acting sluggish, but it’s not like a weekly thing. If your spot gets even a couple hours of direct light you’re probably okay.
Mine has only skipped auto-connect once in the few months I’ve had it, and it was right after a phone software update. I just toggled Bluetooth off and on and it grabbed it. Hasn’t forgotten the pairing or anything like that. Seems more like a moody handshake than a memory wipe.
For me the rain on the windshield was never the real problem, it was more the headlights coming through it from the other direction. The drops themselves are just kind of there no matter what, but the glasses made those lights way less blinding. I would say give it a real downpour before you judge it, that is where mine made the biggest difference.
I just use mine on the shower glass door more than the mirror, but the mirror works fine too. The steam doesn’t fog it up any more than hot water from the shower would. I just wipe it down while it’s still warm and it comes out clear.
I’m honestly surprised by how many people expect this thing to stay locked in place while they’re moving around. I use mine sitting at my desk and it’s fine, but the second I lean forward to grab something it shifts. That’s just how it is with these strap designs.
It kind of sneaks up on you, I think. The first week I didn’t notice anything either, but then I realized my skin wasn’t feeling as tight after I got out. I wouldn’t say the water feels dramatically different while I’m standing in it, but the after effect is what changed for me.
I also stopped getting that weird dry itch on my shoulders that I used to get all the time in the winter. I didn’t really connect it to the showerhead until I thought about it one day. Could be coincidence, but it’s been consistent enough that I’m sticking with it.
I do think a lot of it depends on what your water was like before. If your water wasn’t that bad to begin with, you probably won’t notice much. I’m just glad it’s not making things worse.
Mine stayed pretty tight for the first month honestly. I noticed it loosened up a little after that, but it never became loose if that makes sense. It just went from snug to comfortable. I wouldn’t expect it to change much more than that.
I actually noticed the same thing with mine and it hasn’t caused me any issues so far. I’ve been using it to check on my shed at night and the card stays put even when I’m moving around. Probably just the way they’re made, nothing to stress over.
The pouch is definitely less of a hassle than the spray, I’ll give it that. I still keep a bottle of spray around for quick touch-ups in the garage, but the pouches are what actually do the heavy lifting now. It’s just easier to toss one in a corner and not think about it for a few weeks.
I feel like people expect way too much from a bathroom scale. The trend stuff is there and it works, but the real value is just seeing the direction you’re heading over a few weeks. The extra metrics are nice to glance at but I wouldn’t overthink them.
Denim is always gonna be the slowest thing you put in there, no way around it. I think mine takes maybe twice as long as a normal cotton shirt, but it does get there eventually. As long as you’re not in a rush, it’s fine for winter.
That faint click is pretty standard with these types of heaters. I wouldn’t worry about it at all unless it starts getting noticeably louder or happens all the time.
Charging every 3 or 4 days sounds pretty normal to me with the heat on. I use mine without the heat most of the time and still end up plugging it in about twice a week.
Pretty much just overwrites the oldest stuff automatically, same as any loop recording cam. I do like to format my card every few months just to keep things clean, but it’s not really required.
I think the calls might be what’s draining it faster for me too, I’m getting around 4 hours as well when I’m on the phone a lot. Still gets me through my day fine though, so it’s not a big deal. Maybe the advertised numbers are under ideal conditions or something.
I got one for my bedroom a couple weeks ago and it definitely doesn’t heat the whole room instantly, but if you’re sitting close to it, you feel something within a minute or two. Not exactly instant, but fast enough that I don’t mind waiting. I think it depends on how cold your office is and how close you sit to it.
