The thing nobody warned me about was how much the hole changes where my hand sits on the blade. I came from a cheap Western chef knife where I pinched the bolster, and on the Matsato my grip naturally slid forward until my index finger landed in the hole. That part actually grew on me after a week or so, especially for slicing. What I did not expect is that it made the knife feel shorter in use, almost like a petty knife, so big cabbage heads got awkward. If your old knife was longer, that adjustment might bother you more than the hole itself. I still grab the Matsato for most veg, but I kept the old one around for anything bulky.
Mine sat in a drawer for about six weeks and was still cutting fine when I grabbed it. But I’ve also had it drop from full to dead in a couple weeks when I forgot to turn it off properly once. Twice a week for a minute is light enough that you probably won’t think about it much.
I went the other direction, iPhone to Android, and my old data showed up once I logged in. The only annoying part was reconnecting Bluetooth and redoing the WiFi setup on the scale itself.
Mine warms my office noticeably faster than the old radiator did, but that radiator was dead weight for the first 20 minutes. The Coolzy still isn’t instant, maybe a few minutes before you feel it. For a small room I think it’s a decent swap.
The “up to 5 years” thing is mostly marketing. Mine started throwing random low-level CO readings around year three, so I tossed it. A self-test only proves the buzzer works, not that the sensor still detects gas properly.
Mine reaches the upper back a bit when I have it sitting higher, so I don’t think it’s strictly neck and shoulders only. But it’s nothing close to what I feel on my traps. If yours sits lower sometimes I doubt you’re wearing it wrong, it just shifts.
Mine’s about four months old and I haven’t paid anything past the initial purchase. Translation still works, though I only really lean on it a few times a month. No popup begging for money so far.

But a consistent warmth after it’s been running all day? Mine does that too, and it’s been doing its thing for a while now without any drama.
The way I see it, these things are doing a bit of work internally to smooth out the power, and that work creates heat. If it were totally cold all the time, I’d actually wonder if it was doing anything at all. As long as the green light stays steady and it doesn’t start smelling like burnt plastic or get too hot to hold, I’d let it run.
I also made sure mine wasn’t plugged in somewhere with poor airflow or daisy-chained behind a bunch of other adapters. That’s the only time I’d start to care about the heat. Give it a feel on a cooler morning and compare it to how it feels at night after the TV and everything else has been on. If the difference seems reasonable, it’s probably fine.
The outage duration is the real question. If it’s just a few hours, fine. But if you’re expecting it to run for days like some kind of mini UPS, that’s not what this is. It’s for giving you enough time to know something is wrong, not for keeping you informed all night long.
The pin stays out means the light keeps going, plain and simple. I’ve set mine off fumbling with my keys at the door and it was still blinking away when I finally got it silenced. For what you’re describing, it will stay visible as long as you need it to.
The zap noise is really the only thing worth thinking about. The UV light itself is not going to bother her, it’s just a glow. If she’s not the type to stare at it or try to paw at it, she’ll probably lose interest in a day or two. I wouldn’t move it away from where you actually need it just on a hunch.
Mine handles them fine, but I’ve noticed the firmer synthetic ones make it work a bit harder too. Nothing that worries me, just one of those things I deal with when the bottle calls for it.

The foam does the actual work, it climbs up the sides of the pipe and gets into the gunk that’s stuck on the walls, not just whatever is sitting at the bottom. I’ve used it on my bathroom sink a few times now and it’s handled the slow drain way better than that generic powder ever did. The foam might look like it’s all show, but it’s actually carrying the cleaning agents further down the line. The reaction is what breaks down the hair and soap scum, so if it’s bubbling that means it’s chewing through the buildup.
One thing I’ll say is don’t rush the rinse. Let the foam sit longer than you think you need to, maybe close to the full 20 minutes. I made that mistake once and it didn’t work nearly as well. Other than that, you’re doing it right. That’s just how this stuff behaves.
I’m a side sleeper too and mine never moved around on me. The jaw thing is annoying for a few nights but it did settle down. What got me was the drooling, nobody warned me about that part.
Weird is the right word for the first few nights, but in a good way. It’s not that it feels bad, it just feels like something is actually holding your head differently than you’re used to. Took me about four or five nights before I stopped noticing it.
I had the same worry before ordering mine. Ended up being a non-issue since the mounting plate lined up fine on my old Echo. The only thing I noticed is that it sits a bit tighter on the shaft than the old plastic head did, so you might need a firm push to seat it fully. Took me a minute to realize that.
A little haze is pretty typical, but I’ve also seen it happen when the panel still had some dirt on it.
