Mine tends to freeze right when I need it most, of course. I’ve started glancing at the next turn or exit before I go in, just so I have a rough idea if the map goes quiet. Does it usually come back on its own once you’re out, or do you have to fiddle with it?
I get why you’d want to avoid the mount, but I actually think tilting the camera itself is the wrong move here. I tried nudging mine down a few weeks after I got it because the first week of footage was all sky and treetops and not much else. What I found was that the camera sits in a fixed spot in the housing, so any “tilt” is really you just pushing against plastic that doesn’t want to move. I gave it a gentle nudge and it shifted slightly, and then the next morning the app kept dropping the live feed every couple of minutes. It turned out I’d barely disturbed the connection inside, not enough to kill it outright but enough to make it flaky for a day until I powered it off and back on.
What actually solved it for me was just raising the whole feeder a few inches on the pole so it looks slightly downward at the perch. Took five minutes, no disassembly, and the framing has been fine ever since. So I’d say skip the camera and adjust the height instead. The mount really is the easier thing to move, even if it feels like more hassle up front.
I’ve had one on my router for about three months now and the Wi-Fi side of things has been fine, but I did notice something a bit odd early on with my printer. It kept showing as offline even though it was clearly connected, and that went on for maybe a week before sorting itself out. Could have been totally unrelated, but the timing lined up with when I stuck the thing on there. The speed itself never changed though, and my video calls stayed stable the whole time. I think the honest answer is that for most people it probably won’t cause problems, but I wouldn’t call it a guarantee either, since weird little things can pop up with any device you add to the mix. Curious whether anyone else has seen something similar with other gadgets around the house, not just the router itself.
Calories have been the one I actually find useful, weirdly enough. My lab’s calorie number dips on days he’s stiff, even when the step count looks normal, so that’s the one I glance at first. The step count alone never told me much.
I actually went the other way with this. Everyone talks about having a flexible routine that works anywhere, and I get why, but I found that having a couple of small anchors I always use at home actually helps me more than trying to make everything portable. I read on paper, which sounds old fashioned, but the point is I’m not chained to a specific app or device for it. If I travel, I just grab whatever book is around and it still works. The stretching thing never stuck for me though, I always felt like I was just going through the motions. For me the reading is the one piece that carries over no matter where I am. Do you find that having one or two steady habits is easier than building a whole list of options?
I tend to go the stabilizer route mostly because I like having the mower ready to go the first nice day in spring instead of messing with a clogged carb. My dad used to run his dry every single fall and he never had issues either, so I really think both work. What I’ve noticed is that the gas itself matters more than people let on. One year I left the same old can of gas in there from summer and it was rough starting in spring. Since then I just make a point of using fresh gas for the last mow or two and adding the stabilizer then. That’s my little routine and it’s worked well for me. How long does your mower usually sit, just the winter months or longer?
Are you wiping them down after each use? That made the biggest difference for me, more than any container ever did. Even a quick rub with a dry rag before they go back helps a ton, especially on pliers.
Wrist based ones are basically making an educated guess from movement and heart rate, so the stage labels are rough. Mine still catches the general pattern though, like it knows when I slept badly even if the deep sleep number is off. If you just want trends and not exact stages, it’s fine.
Mine actually doesn’t fit over my retainer at all, so I stopped trying to combine them pretty early on. I wear a fairly standard clear retainer from an ortho a few years back and it has that little bump behind the front teeth, and the mouthguard just rocks around on top of it and never feels sealed. So I do the light session first with the retainer out, then pop the retainer back in right before I actually get into bed. Whole thing adds maybe two extra minutes.
What surprised me was that I got used to splitting it up faster than I expected. I thought it would mess with my routine since I’m the type who likes to do everything in one go, but now it just feels like brushing and then flossing, two separate steps that belong together. I keep the mouthguard on its dock next to my toothbrush so I don’t forget it, and the retainer case sits right there too.
If yours somehow sits fine together then that’s your call, but I never got a good enough fit to feel like the light was doing much with all that plastic in the way. Two minutes apart isn’t worth messing with your retainer fit over.
I actually use mine for mostly veg and don’t think it’s overkill at all. Onions and garlic are the whole reason I got it, since my old board held onto that smell no matter what I did. It rinses clean in seconds and I never have to think about it.
I mostly use mine plugged in when I’m at my desk since the battery always seems to run down at the worst time. It keeps working the whole time and I’ve never had it cut out on me. The cord is a little short though, so I end up sitting kind of close to the outlet.

I don’t think the other person needs the app at all for basic two-way stuff. When I hand one bud to whoever I’m talking to, it just picks up their voice and translates, no phone on their end involved. The app requirement thing gets overstated.

Mine lives on the back porch year round and the only thing I do is bring it in when it’s charging. The splash rating covers drizzle and soggy mornings, but I wouldn’t leave it sitting in a puddle. Two winters in and it’s still going, so it’s not as fragile as it looks.
I actually don’t think they’re worth it if you have perfect vision. I tried my husband’s pair on a road trip and the tint just made everything look slightly off to me, no real improvement over my regular sunglasses. Maybe I’m just not sensitive to glare, but I’d save the money.
A quick wipe down with a damp microfiber and letting it dry is really all I do beforehand. Skipping that just means you’re rubbing dirt around instead of the actual scratch.
I don’t think a squeak means it’s about to break. Mine has made a little noise off and on since I got it, and I’ve used it all over the garden without any trouble. It’s a simple hose nozzle, not some fancy machine.
I would not count on the offline mode for Mandarin. I tried it with my in-laws and it either lagged or just didn’t pick up the right words until I turned wifi back on. The two-way thing is decent for short back and forth, but long stories from my grandma got chopped up.
Mine actually got more noticeable after a couple nights, not less. The bladeless airflow has this whistle at certain angles that I never picked up on during the day, and once the house went quiet it drove me nuts. Moved it back to the office.
Mine has been living in my front pocket wallet for about six months now, and the leather hasn’t stretched at all. The only thing I noticed is it makes pulling out the card right next to it slightly more annoying. Still worth keeping in there though.
I actually have one stuck to the router in our bedroom and the router sits on a shelf with a door that stays closed most of the time. It’s been on there for about four months now and I haven’t noticed any difference in how the wifi behaves, which was my main worry when I first put it on. I know people online say the enclosure messes with the shielding effect, but I honestly can’t tell either way from using it. What I can say is the sticker hasn’t peeled or done anything weird even with the router running warm in there all day. My husband thinks the whole thing is silly but he also hasn’t complained about the internet once, so there’s that. I’d say just stick it on and see how you feel about it. It’s not like it’s going to hurt anything sitting in a cabinet.
I’d keep the radiator and use the Coolzy as a top-up for the office, that’s what I do now. I still like having the radiator for the long cold evenings, but the Coolzy is the one I switch on when I just want the chill off my hands while I’m working. It’s not either/or for me.
I noticed mine seem to fade faster when they’re sitting right on the concrete floor versus up on a shelf. Not sure if it’s the cold coming up through the slab or what, but the ones I raised up definitely held their scent longer for me.
I’ve had mine about two months and the difference for me is that I can actually use a normal toothbrush again without wincing. What surprised me was the fit, it’s soft enough that I forget it’s in, and I just wear it while I’m answering emails in the morning. Not saying it fixed everything, but it’s part of my routine now.
