Mine will do short phrases if I tap and talk without opening anything, but anything longer than a sentence and it just sits there until I open the app. So you’re not missing some magic setting, it’s just inconsistent like that.
My wallet is pretty stuffed too and the Tagsley still pings from inside, so I don’t think the cards interfere much. What got me was the charging, mine only seems to work if I take it out and lay it flat on the pad.
I’ve only ever run mine with the filtered water from my fridge dispenser, mostly because I already keep a pitcher of it around anyway. It’s been through a whole summer and the inside still looks clean, no chalky film or weird smell building up. My old cheap humidifier turned white and crusty within a couple months using straight tap, so I just carried that habit over. Filtered isn’t as pure as distilled but it’s a lot easier to keep on hand than buying jugs constantly. I don’t know if the Glacier Breeze is actually picky about it or if I’m just being cautious for no reason. Either way it hasn’t caused me any problems so far.
Annoying, right? I had the same moment when mine showed up. I actually thought I’d thrown something away with the packaging by accident and went digging through the recycling bin like a maniac. Nope, just the glasses.
For what it’s worth, I’ve had mine for a couple of months now and I just keep them in the door pocket of my car. They’ve survived so far without any scratches, but I also don’t toss stuff on top of them. If you’re the type to just chuck things in the glovebox, I’d probably grab a cheap microfiber pouch off Amazon or something.
It does feel like a weird corner to cut though. These aren’t exactly cheap, and a basic sleeve would cost them pennies. But I guess they figured people either have a sunglasses holder or don’t care enough to return them over it.
I do mine on bare skin after cleansing too, but I think you could get away with a super light toner or essence under it if your skin feels tight after washing. Nothing heavier than that though. Honestly I think the mask does more work than whatever you put on before it, so I wouldn’t overthink it. The order after the mask matters way more to me.
I have one in a south facing room that gets hammered by sun until around 6pm. It handles it, but I wouldn’t say it makes the room cold, it just stops it from getting miserable. If you’re expecting a blast of arctic air the minute you walk in, you’ll be disappointed. Fine for keeping things comfortable, not for dramatic temperature drops.
Mine has been pretty quick honestly. The alert usually lands within a second or two of him stepping out, at least on my phone. I did notice the app itself sometimes takes a moment to refresh the map, so the notification is fast but the live location can look a bit laggy right after.
Outdoor mode helped with voices for me, but I never expected it to fully kill wind. I found that the breeze noise comes and goes more than it used to, which was good enough for my purposes. If your dad is standing in a really open windy spot, nothing is going to fix that completely. It’s more about whether the tradeoff is worth it for him.
I’d just grab one before you open the box. I picked mine up without checking and ended up sitting there with the camera in my hands scrolling through my phone for an hour. These things basically never show up with a card included, no matter what the pictures on the listing suggest.
I’d just grab one anyway. Even if it does come with a factory film, those are usually more for shipping than actual protection. A cheap glass one will save you the headache later.
I found the non-slip backing is fine on hardwood, but the bigger issue is that dust and crumbs get under it over time and make it shift a bit. A quick sweep under it every couple weeks fixes that. Other than that it stays put during normal use.
Depends what you’re mixing honestly. I use mine for protein shakes after the gym and I’m already on my second set of batteries after about two weeks. The thicker stuff seems to make the stirrer work harder. Light matcha use probably won’t drain them as fast but I wouldn’t count on it lasting forever.
I got a full day out of mine but I wasn’t exactly chattering nonstop. I’d say it was around 8-9 hours of on-and-off use with it sitting in my bag between conversations. If you’re planning on using it heavily all day, I’d still toss a power bank in your bag just to be safe.
Foam that high seems like a lot honestly. I get that it shows it’s working, but when mine did that I figured I just dumped in too much powder. Next time I used less and it still bubbled up but not as crazy. So yeah, you probably used more than needed.
The adhesive will be fine, I wouldn’t sweat that part. But honestly, if you’re putting it on a TV that’s in a cabinet or right against a wall, just double check it’s got some airflow. I had one on a receiver that got pretty warm and it stayed stuck, so the TV should be no problem at all.
Different pads on different units is pretty normal I think. I had a cheap no-name TENS years ago and the pads were almost spongy, these ones are definitely more like a sticker. But honestly they do the job for me. I use mine maybe every other day and I haven’t had sticking problems yet, but I also don’t push it for weeks on end. If they start slipping I’ll just replace them, they’re not that expensive. I get why it feels like a downgrade if you’re used to the old style, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. The unit itself works fine and that’s what matters to me.
I think people make brick mounting sound harder than it is, but I also get being cautious about it. For something this light, I doubt you’d run into real trouble as long as you use the right bits. The bigger question for me is whether the screen holds up well outdoors over time, not just the mounting part.
It’s a fan, not a white noise machine. If your old one sounds like a jet, this will be a huge step up even on medium.
I guess it depends on what you’re expecting from it. I personally prefer the idea of not having to mess with a window hose, even if it means the cooling is more localized. Seems like a tradeoff that works for some people.
I think the 15 minutes would probably get you through a deck and a garage sweep if you’re not too fussy about it. I’m not totally sure how it handles heavier dust though, might depend on how packed your garage is.
Mine felt a little stiff at first too but I figured it’s just the file seating into the groove properly. I noticed if I don’t keep the angle dead straight it wants to skate more than bite. Does the job once you get the hang of it though.
I’ve seen a few people mention the controller size, but honestly I think it’s more about grip than hand size. The shape is pretty standard, nothing special, but not terrible either. If you’re used to smaller controllers from the old days, these might feel fine.
