I think that’s pretty typical for these digital night vision units, especially if you’re using the IR a lot. Medium setting still draws a fair bit of power. Mine seems to drain quicker than I expected too, but it’s worked fine for a couple hours of use.

I think once you stop thinking about the shape it just becomes normal. Took me maybe five or six nights before I stopped noticing it.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know it’s not just me, I’ll just use it for the pulses and not expect much from the heat. Still does the job for what I got it for.

I noticed the same thing with mine, honestly the light seems to just do its own thing. I pretty much ignore it now and just check if my devices actually connect fine.

It’s probably just how it works honestly. I’ve had mine for a few months and I noticed it blocks the obvious stuff but doesn’t catch everything. Still better than nothing for me.
