Got the TP-Link RE700X today and setup was pretty easy through the app. Only thing bugging me is the signal indicator light doesn’t always seem accurate. I moved it around and it keeps bouncing between green and orange even in the same spot. Anyone else notice this or is mine just being weird?

Mine does that too. I just ignore the light and go by whether my devices actually connect fine. Works well enough for me so I stopped paying attention to it.

Yeah mine does the same thing. I stopped bothering with the light after a day, it flickers around for no reason. As long as the WiFi actually works in that spot I just leave it alone.

Yeah mine does the same thing, I wouldn’t worry about it. Still works fine.

Mine does the same thing, I honestly don’t think the light means much. I just stuck it where the signal felt fine and it’s been working fine since.

I wouldn’t overthink the light. Mine does the same jumping around but the actual connection has been solid. As long as things load fine on your devices I’d just leave it where you put it and move on.

I noticed the same thing with mine, honestly the light seems to just do its own thing. I pretty much ignore it now and just check if my devices actually connect fine.

Funny how the title says “placement question” but the actual post is about the light instead. I was curious about where to put mine too but the light thing is a bit distracting.

Funny, I just got mine yesterday and noticed the same thing with the light. It flickers between colors for no reason sometimes, but honestly, once I set it up it’s been working fine so I mostly ignore it now.

Mine does the same thing, I just kind of ignore the light at this point. I set it up and checked that my devices were actually getting a better signal where I needed it, and that was good enough for me.
