RiversMemberThinking about getting a Breezi AC for my desk at work but I keep reading that evaporative coolers don’t work well when it’s already humid. My office gets pretty stuffy in the afternoon. Is this thing going to just blow warm air around or does it actually help?

KhanMemberHonestly, if your office is already humid, this thing is mostly just gonna blow air around. It might feel a little cooler right in front of your face if you use ice water, but it won’t actually drop the room temp. For a stuffy desk it’s better than nothing, but don’t expect magic.

Sam ReadsMemberI think it depends on what you’re expecting. In a humid room it’s not going to feel like real AC, but if you sit close to it with ice water it does make the air feel a bit less stuffy. I’ve used mine on my desk and it’s more about a gentle cool breeze than actually dropping the room temp. Not a miracle worker but it’s not useless either.

MemberI think if your office is already humid you’re probably not going to get much out of it honestly. It’ll feel like a fan with a bit of dampness, not actual cold air. I’d say it’s more of a slight breeze than any real cooling in that kind of room.

no_sleepParticipantI’ve got one sitting on my desk. In a humid office, it’s not magic, but if you sit close and put ice in the tank, it definitely feels cooler than just a fan. Better than nothing for that stuffy afternoon slump.

MemberHonestly it does help a little if you’re sitting right next to it, but I wouldn’t expect it to fix a stuffy humid room. I tried one at my desk and it felt better than nothing, just not a huge difference when the air is already thick.

MemberI think it helps more than people give it credit for in a humid room. I use mine at my desk and even when the air is sticky it still feels noticeably cooler right in front of me.

MemberHonestly, I’ve used mine in a pretty muggy room and it doesn’t totally fix it, but it’s not useless either. It mostly just feels like a fan with a little extra dampness in the air. If you’re expecting it to actually cool the room you’ll be disappointed, but for direct desk airflow it’s fine.

Tom RayMemberI’ve got one on my desk at home and honestly, even on humid days it still feels better than just a regular fan. It’s not gonna turn your office into a walk-in fridge or anything, but it definitely feels less stuffy with it running. I just keep it on the low mist setting and it’s fine for me.

Nina_gadgetMemberI’ve seen a few people say it’s fine for stuffy offices as long as you’re close to it. I think the mist helps a bit with the humidity feeling, but I’m not totally sure.
I’d probably just try it and see, since it’s not super expensive or anything.

RiversMemberAlright, thanks for the replies. Sounds like it’s not a miracle worker but might take the edge off, which is probably good enough for a stuffy office. I’ll give it a shot.

EthanFreeMemberI’ve got one sitting on my desk right now. In a humid office it’s not gonna cool the room down, but if you point it at yourself and use cold water, it feels noticeably better than just a fan.

SarahMParticipantI feel like people overthink these things. It’s just a little desk fan with a water tank, not a miracle machine. If the air is already sticky, it won’t turn the room into a freezer, but it does make the air right in front of you feel less stale. It’s fine for what it is.

MemberI mean, it’s not going to work like a real AC, but for a small desk space it does help a little. The mist setting feels nice if you use cold water, but in a humid office I’d keep expectations low. I’d try it just to get some airflow going.

MemberI mean, it’s not gonna work miracles if your office is already humid, but I’ve used mine on a sticky desk and it still feels better than just a fan, especially if you throw ice in the tank. The mist helps a bit with that stuffy feeling even if it’s not actually cooling the air down much. For a desk at work, I’d say it’s worth a try just for the breeze alone.

MemberI get what you mean about the stuffy office feeling. I think it helps a bit even when it’s humid, just having that airflow on you makes a difference. Maybe not a huge temp drop but it’s better than nothing.

MemberHonestly mine helps a little in humid weather but it’s not magic or anything. I keep a bottle of cold water at my desk and fill it up when I need a quick breeze. It’s mostly just nice to have some moving air on my face while I’m working.

RiversMemberAlright, thanks for the replies. Sounds like it’s not going to fix the humidity, but the airflow might make it less miserable. That’s basically what I expected. I’ll probably grab one and just see how it feels.

MemberI’ve used mine in a humid room and honestly, the airflow alone is enough to keep me from feeling like I’m melting. The mist is just a bonus.
