I’ve used mine a few times in the bathroom, but only while I’m actually in there getting ready, not plugged in all day. I just move it back out when I’m done and that’s worked fine for me. Ten minutes before a shower seems like a reasonable use honestly.
I usually just leave mine plugged in for my whole session since the battery never seems to last long anyway. It keeps running fine, no shutdowns or anything. The cord is short though, so I end up sitting kind of awkwardly next to the outlet.
I use the screen way more than I expected. Being able to glance down and confirm framing without dragging my phone out of my pocket is the whole reason I stopped leaving the camera in my bag. It does make the whole thing a bit chunkier, but I got used to that in a week.
I’ve used mine on the rear window a couple times and it was fine, no scratches or anything. I still keep a squeegee in my bucket though because the pressure washer leaves little water spots if I don’t dry it right away.
I only used it once on a sink that was draining slow, and the water went down fine after, but a couple months later the same sink backed up again, so whatever it did wasn’t permanent for me. If there’s visible hair around the pop-up, I’d just pull that out by hand first. The powder seems better at keeping a drain clear than fixing one that’s already got a real hair ball in it.
Mine doesn’t care where my head ends up. I roll from side to back all night and it still feels fine, no fighting with it. So the shape thing hasn’t been an issue for me at all.
I picked one up a couple months ago and had a similar question. I ended up charging it before putting it in because I figured a fridge is a cold place and I didn’t want it dying on me in there. Mine took maybe two hours to get a full charge, nothing crazy. But here’s the thing, I don’t actually think it was necessary to wait. I checked the little light when I first unboxed it and it was already showing some charge, so it clearly wasn’t dead or anything. If I’m being real, I probably could have just tossed it in and charged it later when it got low. I just didn’t want to deal with taking it out again once it was in there doing its thing. So if you’re impatient, I’d say just plug it in for a bit while you’re unloading groceries and call it good. You don’t need to sit around waiting for some long charging session. Mine has been fine ever since and I only plug it in when it starts acting sluggish or the light changes. It’s not a complicated thing. The initial charge isn’t some big event you have to plan your day around.
I only ever used mine on a small scratch on my mom’s car when I was visiting, and the one thing I noticed was that the cloth itself gets kind of gummy after a bit if the surface is hot. Not sure if that’s a real thing or just me, but I had to switch to a different spot on the cloth pretty fast. On a cooler morning it felt way easier to buff off. So if you’re doing it in the afternoon, maybe just wait or park in the garage for a while. I didn’t do anything fancy before, just wiped the dust off with a rag. Worked fine for what it was, though I wouldn’t expect miracles on anything deep.
Five minutes for a whole room felt warm seems optimistic to me. I’d expect it to feel warm near the unit pretty quick, but the rest of the room takes longer. Small bedroom probably fine, but I wouldn’t count on that exact number.
The curved mount is really meant for putting on the side of a car or a flat-ish surface, so it doesn’t grab a helmet well. I ended up just threading the strap through the rear clip and tightening it down, but it still wobbles a bit on bumpy rides. If you’re not handy, that’s about as simple as it gets without buying a proper helmet mount.
Mine never got clammy, even in a tiny dorm room. I ran it most afternoons for about two weeks and the air just felt cooler, not wet. If anything my room dried out from the fan. So I don’t think the moisture is a given with these.
Mine actually did fine when I only ran it a few hours a day. I kept it off most of the time and just charged it up when the fridge started smelling, and that worked for me. Maybe mine’s just a lucky one.

Honestly I think the “only at night” idea makes sense on paper, but I’ve noticed these things take a while to build up any kind of effect. When I first got mine I unplugged it here and there during the day and the mice didn’t really seem phased. Once I just left it plugged in nonstop for a few weeks, things improved noticeably. Maybe it’s a coincidence but I think the constant signal matters more than we realize, since pests don’t exactly keep a schedule. Also worth noting that if you keep moving it around or cutting power, you might lose whatever routine they’ve built up avoiding it. Not saying you can’t try it your way, just that I stopped messing with mine and got better results. Curious if anyone else noticed the same thing after switching to always on.
I tried it from the hallway once and it didn’t go through, so line of sight is probably accurate. If you’re in another room, the timer is the safer bet.
If I were in your spot I’d just fill the bucket and give it a go before buying any extra stuff. Mine did pull water on its own from a bucket the first time I tried it, no priming. It’s not super strong but it got the job done for rinsing off my bike.
I wouldn’t call it a gadget just because it’s not a full pressure washer. My brother has one and it definitely sprays harder than the regular nozzle I use at home, enough that I noticed it right away. The mud came off my wheel wells with way less scrubbing than usual.
I have a septic tank too and I’ve used it a few times when the kitchen sink got gross. Nothing weird happened with the tank after, and that was months ago. It’s the only drain cleaner I’ve felt okay using since we moved in.
I guess I’m in the minority here, but I didn’t find the smaller languages all that bad. I used it for Catalan on a trip last year and it handled basic stuff fine. Not perfect, but decent enough to get by. Maybe I just got lucky with the ones I needed.
Good to know I’m not the only one who just plugged it in wherever. I’ll probably start with a lower outlet since it’s easier and see how it goes. If I don’t notice anything after a few weeks maybe I’ll move it. Thanks for the input everyone.
I think a quick wipe after is just part of it, honestly. I used mine on the sliding door and got the same thing when I let it dry on its own. Soon as I gave it a pass with a microfiber cloth while it was still damp, no streaks at all.
The draft is going to make the spot right by the window pretty much useless, no matter how close you put it. I would keep it on the floor a few feet away, pointed toward your legs and torso. Cold air sinks, so you want the heat coming from low down. You will feel it a lot more that way.
I think it matters less than you’d expect. I keep mine tucked behind my debit card in a normal leather bifold, not even in the center of the stack, and I haven’t had any issues. I’ve tested it a couple times at those self-checkout scanners by accident and nothing went through. The signal gets blocked around the whole wallet, not just the card it’s touching. I wouldn’t stress about having it perfectly positioned next to every card you own. The way I see it, the thing is thin enough that it doesn’t add bulk, so even if it only works half as well as advertised, it’s still better than carrying nothing. I’ve had mine for a few months now and I just forget it’s in there.
