The wire is only for charging, not for wearing. Mine runs about 4 sessions before it needs a top-up, so I usually just plug it in while I’m doing something else. You can definitely walk around with it on.
It works fine on a desk. I had mine on a nightstand for a couple months and never had issues with it moving around or not blowing where I aimed it. Mounting is optional, not required.
Depends on how cold that office actually gets. I used something similar last winter and it took the chill off, but on really cold mornings it barely kept up. For mild cold it’s fine, for a genuinely freezing room I’d want something stronger.
Mine barely warms up at all, so I’d say that part is fine. The rotating plug is what sold me since my outlet sits behind a shelf. Two months in and it’s been solid.
I don’t have the JetClean but I did borrow a friend’s portable washer once and honestly for car washing I went back to my bucket and nozzle. The stronger spray was nice for the wheels and lower panels, but it also flung water everywhere and I felt like I was chasing it around the driveway. With the hose I can aim where I want and rinse at my own pace. For knocking off light mud after a rainy drive, a normal nozzle plus a decent soak does the job fine for me. The extra pressure only really mattered when I let dirt sit for a week. So if your car isn’t caked, I’d say the upgrade is more about convenience than cleaning power.
I’m still deciding on one myself, but the manual phrasing matters here. If it specifically says distilled, I’d follow that since the tank is small and hard to scrub. Tap might be fine for a while, but I’d rather not deal with crusty buildup in something I can’t easily rinse out.
I actually had the opposite experience. Picked one up mainly for an older chain that was pretty beat and it did nothing useful on it. The cutter edges were too inconsistent for the guide to grab onto properly. Works fine on my newer chains, but I would not count on it to rescue the rough ones.
The portability question really comes down to how you hold it while using it. I picked mine up and immediately thought it felt fine, but after maybe fifteen minutes of moving around my driveway, my hand started noticing the weight more than I expected. It’s doable for quick jobs, just don’t plan on an hour of continuous use without a break.
I would just assume the drops on the windshield are something the glasses can’t fix. Wet road glare and headlights, sure, that is where they earn their keep. But the water sitting right in front of your eyes is a different problem entirely. I would not expect a pair of lenses to cancel that out in a heavy downpour.
Call volume being lower than music is pretty common across a lot of earbuds, so it might not be a defect with these specifically. I’d say give it a few more days before deciding if it’s a dealbreaker. If it still bothers you after a week, that’s probably just how they’re tuned.
Even without ice it still cools better than a regular desk fan, so I’d say water is enough for most days.
I’ve had the opposite experience from some people here. Mine stays on fine, but I think it’s because I don’t try to do much while wearing it. I mostly use it when I’m reading or watching something, sitting still. I never had to crank the strap down all the way either, just adjusted it normally and it stayed.
I do think if you’re expecting to walk around or move your arm a lot while it’s on, you’ll be fighting it the whole time. But that’s not really how I use it, so it hasn’t been an issue for me. The weight is light enough that it doesn’t pull or slide once it’s positioned right.
I’d say it really comes down to whether you’re okay sitting still for the 12 minutes. If you are, it should be fine. If you want to multitask, you’ll probably be annoyed.
In a small tent it’ll be fine. The light isn’t blinding or anything, but it does stand out in the dark and the zapper noise lets you know it’s working. I’d still use a repellent on yourself, but it helps keep the tent from turning into a bug hotel.
I noticed the same thing with mine. The paint transfer came off without any effort, but the lighter scratches just faded a bit. They’re still there if I look closely in direct sunlight, just less noticeable. I think for anything that’s actually scratched into the clear coat, you’re really just reducing the visibility of it, not making it disappear.
Debris is pretty much normal with these steel wire heads, mine does the same on dry ground. The wires are stiff so they grab chunks of grass and dirt and send them flying instead of just bending like nylon.
I think the height thing gets way more attention than it needs for a plug in unit like this. I mean, it’s not like you’re mounting a smoke detector on the ceiling where the physics actually change. You’re just putting it near an outlet and the sensors are doing their thing either way.
Counter height should be totally fine for a kitchen. The main thing I’d pay attention to is keeping it out of direct steam or right next to the stove, but that’s more about false alarms than missing something. I wouldn’t stress about whether it needs to be six inches higher or lower.
The real question is whether you’ll actually hear it from wherever you’re sleeping or hanging out. That matters more than the exact outlet height. If the counter spot is near where you spend time, just go with it.
Brick always makes me nervous for some reason, even if the screen is light. I’d probably look up how to hide the holes later just in case I change my mind about the spot.
I think the BreezaMax is probably a real step up from a basic bladed fan, but I’m not totally sure about the medium setting for sleeping. I’ve read mixed things about whether the hum is still noticeable at that level. Might be worth trying it out if you can return it easily.
Oh nice, I was wondering the same thing when I first saw it. It sounds like a nice simple setup if it really works without a window kit.
That’s pretty much how loop recording works on the DashOne Pro. It overwrites the oldest files automatically so you don’t have to worry about manually deleting stuff. I still format my card every couple of months just to keep things clean, but it’s not required.
Mine gets about the same, around 4 hours. I use them for calls and music too. Still enough for my commute so I didn’t think much of it.
