I actually use the hole differently than most people seem to. I don’t put my finger in it while chopping. I rest my index finger against the top edge of the hole instead, kind of like a guide, and that felt natural almost right away. So if the full finger thing feels weird, try just touching the edge of it. Mine came with the hole and I honestly didn’t think about it much after a few meals. The thing that took longer was getting used to the lighter feel compared to my old heavier knife. That threw me off more than the hole ever did. I’d say give the edge trick a shot before you decide to go back. Your old knife isn’t going anywhere, so there’s no rush to pick one forever.

I keep mine on the couch stand while it runs since the strap is snug anyway, but you can definitely walk around with it. The wire only comes into play when it’s charging. Sitting by an outlet the whole session isn’t a thing unless you want it to be.

My dad is 76 and he likes that it just files everything down at the same time, so there’s no separate step with the little file afterward. He keeps it in his desk drawer and does a couple nails while watching tv. Takes him a bit longer than clippers but he doesn’t seem to mind.

Mine actually did fine on a weak line, the spray felt a bit more concentrated if that makes sense. Not like a huge boost or anything but it didn’t turn into a sad trickle either. I mostly cared about how my skin felt after though, the pressure thing was just a bonus.

Mine slides down past my shoulders almost every time I wear it, and I’ve just accepted that. When it lands lower I mostly feel the heat on my upper back, not much else. It’s a nice excuse to sit still for twenty minutes though.

    Mine was fine charging overnight.

Mine was basically ready to go once it had some charge, tips were already in the box. The learning curve is real though, my first few lines looked pretty shaky.

I usually do it while watching tv so the time kind of flies by. Cutting it to 7 or 8 minutes gave me most of the relief honestly, just felt a little tighter again sooner.

It really depends on how your shelves are laid out, I think. Mine is a narrow little fridge and I just keep the Ozoori on the door shelf next to the condiments, it doesn’t stick out enough to block anything. It is actually smaller than I expected when the box first arrived.

I actually think it’s kind of nice that they don’t include a bulky case. I just toss mine in the door pocket when I get out and grab them when I get in. If they came with a hard case it would probably just annoy me taking up space. I get why people want one but it didn’t bother me at all.

I think people make a bigger deal out of the fit than it really is. I switched from a cheap boil and bite one and honestly the Nunawave felt less bulky to me, not more. The shape sits a little different but I didn’t have any adjustment period where I was aware of it all night.

I can see it being okay for that, but the runtime is the thing that would bug me. Fifteen minutes goes by fast when you’re moving stuff around and trying to get into all the corners. I’d probably want to have the charger nearby or plan to do it in two sessions.

in reply to: DashOne Pro screen too bright at night? any way to dim it? #9456

I had the same problem whenI first got mine. For me, it wasn’t so much about the glare on the windshield, it was more that the light made the whole cabin feel less dark and cozy on late night drives. I kept fumbling for a setting too, but I think the menu is just pretty basic on these.

What ended up working for me was just angling the whole unit slightly so the screen faces the windshield instead of me. The recording angle didn’t really change since the lens is separate, and it cut down the brightness a whole lot. I also keep the dash lights in my car dimmed pretty low anyway, so it didn’t bother me after that.

It would still be nice if they added a proper screen off option in a future update or something, but for now I just got used to tweaking the angle when it gets dark out.

I actually think the slipping out thing depends a lot on how well you mold it. I got mine a few months ago and the first time I did the boil and bite thing I was too impatient and it never really gripped my teeth right. It kept feeling loose and I’d wake up with it sitting weird in my mouth. Once I re-did it and actually let it cool properly it stayed way better. I toss around a lot and it doesn’t really move anymore. The jaw thing is there but it’s more of a mild ache than anything crazy. I do wake up with a bit of drool sometimes which is gross but whatever. I’d say if you get it just take your time with the molding part.

Good point about the dealer having to prove it. I’ll stop overthinking it then.

I tried the tape thing once and honestly the corners kept curling up on mine. The middle was fine but the edges just would not behave no matter how much tape I used. Kind of gave up and just leaned it against the wall instead. Works good enough for me that way, but if you want it hanging flat you might be fighting with it more than you’d like.

I tried it with a bucket when I was cleaning my balcony door and didn’t feel like dragging the hose around. It did the job, no drama. The stream isn’t super aggressive but it’s enough for everyday grime. I just made sure the filter stayed under the water and it was fine.

The TENS unit always felt like it was just messing with the surface, if that makes sense. The Back Restore vibration is way deeper and more like a strong thump that works its way into the muscle. Honestly, I found the TENS feeling too weird and sharp compared to this. I’d say it’s much closer to a firm massage than a shock.

Honestly I think there’s a limit to how fussy it can be. I don’t own one but a neighbor has one and she just has it sitting on a plant stand facing the general direction of her compost pile. Animals still avoid that corner. If you’re not pointing it straight at the sun or something, it should be fine.

The delay doesn’t bother me much either, but I actually prefer it that way. If I got pinged the second something landed, I’d be checking my phone every few minutes all day long. The way it is now, I just scroll through the clips later and catch what I missed.

I actually don’t mind the pause that much. To me it feels like the other person is just thinking before they answer, which is pretty normal in any conversation anyway. I’ve had way more awkward silences with people who speak the same language as me, honestly.

I used mine mostly at a family gathering where half my relatives don’t speak English. The little gap gave me time to actually process what was said instead of just nodding along. It made the whole thing feel less rushed, which I liked.

I get why it might feel weird at first though. The first couple days I kept wanting to fill the silence myself. After maybe a week I stopped noticing it and just let the rhythm happen. It’s more like a slightly slower conversation than a broken one, if that makes sense.

in reply to: Does the DrFlexa feel bulky under regular pants? #6842

I wear mine under regular denim all the time and honestly forget it’s there. It’s not like those stiff medical braces that make you walk funny. The fabric is thin enough that my pants sit normal over it, no weird bulges or bunching when I’m just out running errands.

Honestly I just accepted that about the app. It’s kind of like the buds themselves are always ready but the app needs a minute to wake up and remember what it’s doing. I mostly use mine for music and calls during the week and then for translation when I’m on holiday, and it’s the same thing every time. If I haven’t opened the app in a day or two, it acts like it’s never seen the buds before, then I close it properly and try again and we’re good.

What I found is that it’s way more reliable if I put the buds in my ears first, let them connect to the phone on their own, and then open the app. If I open the app first and then try to put the buds in, that’s when it gets moody. Not sure if that’s actually how it works or if I just got into a routine that happens to line up with when it decides to cooperate.

The funny thing is, once it does connect, I never have issues mid conversation or anything. It’s only that initial handshake that’s a bit clunky. I do wish it was smoother because when you’re standing in front of someone trying to switch languages, the last thing you want is to be fiddling with your phone. But for everyday use it’s one of those things I just got used to, like how my wifi printer needs a nudge sometimes.

If it were me, I’d just go ahead and plug it in wherever is convenient. I know the box is in the garage, but honestly, I don’t think most people are going to want to run an extension cord out there or sit in the garage just to have a little green light on. The whole point is that it’s a set it and forget it kind of thing, so having it in a spot you can actually see and forget about makes more sense to me.

I have mine plugged in near my entertainment center just because that’s where I spend most of my time and where most of my stuff is plugged in. I figure if it’s helping with the flow of electricity, it’s probably doing its thing wherever it’s at. I didn’t measure anything or compare before and after, but I also didn’t stress about the distance. For the price and the ease of use, I’d say just find a normal outlet and call it a day.

Counter height is probably fine, but I wouldn’t treat it like a decoration piece either. The sensors still need decent air flow around them, so shoving it behind a toaster or in a cramped corner might dull its reaction time. I’d just keep it out in the open and not lose sleep over the exact inches.

The remote does work through walls, I think that’s kind of the whole point so you don’t have to be in there. I don’t think UV is like smoke that seeps under doors, as long as the door is shut it’s probably fine. I usually just start mine and go make tea or something. Seems like a lot of worry for something that just turns itself off anyway.
