Staring at the app every morning is never going to happen for me either. I just accept that some plans will lapse and buy a new one when I actually need it. Losing a few bucks on an unused plan beats spending my trip thinking about expiry dates.
For garden watering I wouldn’t bother. The plants don’t care about a bit of roof grit, and a diverter just adds another thing to empty and fiddle with. I’ve been running a plain barrel for a couple seasons and the tomatoes are fine.
I don’t buy that a second one is automatically harmless. My brother had two set up at his place and the picture on the original TV got choppy after he added the second one. Took him a while to figure out that was the cause.
I wouldn’t count on it as my only option. Mine handled a few short exchanges okay, but once someone answered with a longer sentence it fell apart. If I’m traveling somewhere I actually need to communicate, I still want data on.
I’d treat it as a supplement rather than the main heat source. Mine sits in a spare bedroom about 10×10 and it keeps that room from feeling cold overnight, but I still leave the house heat on low. If that room is where you spend most of your evening, it’ll probably do enough for you.
I have one on a white laptop lid and it’s visible, but it just looks like a small plain label to me. Nobody’s ever asked about it. If the look bugs you on the tablet, that’s fair, but it’s not going to stand out to anyone else.
I’d just set up a separate login for each of you if the app allows it. Sharing one account sounds convenient until alerts get missed or one phone stops updating. I’d rather have my own setup than deal with that confusion.
I just leave mine in a drawer next to the bed and grab it when I need it. It’s small, yeah, but no smaller than my TV remote, and I haven’t lost that yet.
I keep mine on the counter and just angle the plug so it points toward the mirror. Ten minutes after a shower feels fine to me, and the quick warm-up is why I bother. It’s been a couple months and no issues so far.
I have an older cam with no screen too and the Pro Capture’s screen ended up bugging me more than helping. Kept catching it on stuff in my bag and it drains the battery faster than I expected. My no-screen cam just goes on the mount and I forget about it.
The light on mine is actually the main reason I grab it over the old plastic pick I had. Not because it cleans better or anything, but I get a lot of coffee stain on the inside of my lower front teeth and that area is shadowy in the bathroom mirror. With the light I can actually see where I’m putting the tip instead of poking around blind. I still have to turn my head a bit to get the angle, so it’s not like it lights up the whole mouth. Back teeth are still a bit of a guess but I mostly use it on the front ones anyway. For what I use it for, it does the job fine.
You can get a cheap USB splitter if you really need both, but I’ve heard those can sometimes cause connection issues with these adapters. Mine just stays plugged in and I charge my phone at home or work mostly.
Red light and dark spots is kind of a mixed bag in my experience. I’ve had one of these masks for close to a year and used it pretty consistently, mostly for redness and just general skin stuff. The old acne marks I have did fade over time, but I honestly can’t say the mask was the main reason. I was also using vitamin C and being better about sunscreen around the same stretch, so it’s hard to separate what did what.
What I can say is that the mask didn’t make anything worse and my skin tone looks more even than it did before. Whether that’s worth the price just for dark spots is another question. If that’s your only goal, I’d probably look at other stuff first. But if you want something you can just throw on a few nights a week and let it do whatever it does, it’s not a bad thing to have around.
I ended up grabbing one anyway and it’s been fine in my drafty living room, keeps it comfortable enough while I’m in there. Doesn’t fight the cold when the wind really gets going though. Good enough for me, I wasn’t expecting miracles.
I use mine once or twice a week, usually on weekends when my legs feel stiff from being on my feet all day. The manual saying daily is fine doesn’t mean you have to. A few times a week sounds plenty for back tightness.
Folding it up every time is probably making that crease worse, not storage in general. I’ve left mine hanging on the wall for the past month and the lines have faded a lot compared to when I kept packing it away. So yeah, I’d say rolling beats folding if you have to put it up.
Mine has done that squeak from day one whenever I change the setting. Still going strong after a whole summer of washing the car and the deck.
I wouldn’t bother waiting on a full charge. Mine actually had plenty of juice and I used it for a good half hour before it even showed low battery, so the whole thing is a non-issue in my book.
The controller is really all you need for just flying around. I’ve had mine for a couple months and only connect the phone when I actually want to record something. If you’re mostly just messing around, leaving the phone in your pocket is fine.
NuraFix and compound aren’t really the same thing. Compound actually cuts the clear coat down, NuraFix mostly fills and hides. For light parking lot stuff it’s fine and way less work, but I wouldn’t call it a replacement.
I’ll be the odd one out here, because I don’t think ambient light is as harmless as people make it sound. I had mine on a desk in a room with a small reading lamp in the corner, and for the first week or two it barely caught anything. We’re talking maybe two or three gnats total. I figured the trap was just weak, but then I started flipping that lamp off whenever I left the room, and it made a pretty obvious difference. More moths and mosquitoes ended up in it over the next few nights, and I could hear the grid popping more often.
My take is that the UV still attracts bugs, but it has to compete with whatever else is glowing nearby. If there’s a lamp or a bright window in the same part of the room, some of them just head there instead. It doesn’t mean you need a sealed cave or blackout curtains. I still have some light coming under the door from the hallway, and the trap works fine. But I’d say the darker the area right around the unit, the better your odds. So if you can turn off a lamp or move the trap to the shadier side of the room, I’d do that. It’s not an all or nothing thing, but I definitely wouldn’t say light makes zero difference either.
I don’t think the butterfly shape is really the problem people make it out to be. I’ve had mine for about four months and I just use a regular queen case I already owned. It’s loose in a couple spots but nothing bunches up badly enough to bug me. The one thing I’d say is that if you’re trying to force it into a case that’s already snug on a normal pillow, of course it’s going to fight you, since the foam doesn’t squish down the way a fiber fill does. But that’s more about the case being too small than the pillow being some weird shape that no case can handle. I never went out and bought anything special for it and I’ve been fine. If your old case is a squeeze, that’s just the wrong case, not a sign you need to go hunting for some specialty cover.
I mostly run mine on the lower setting and it doesn’t get clammy for me. I keep it a few feet away instead of right on my desk, which probably helps. I do like a bit of moisture in the air anyway, so the humidifier side is a plus for me.
The 176 country thing probably means it has roaming agreements, not that you’ll get great signal everywhere. I took mine to Iceland last spring and it worked fine in Reykjavik but was pretty useless once we drove out toward the westfjords. It did switch carriers on its own though, didn’t have to touch any settings.
I’d skip it for bucket use if I were you. Mine only worked when I had the bucket propped up on a chair, and even then it was weak. For a parking spot setup I’d just bring a couple of full jugs and forget the suction thing.
