Daytime glare is exactly what I bought mine for and I’m not impressed. They dim things a bit but calling it glare reduction is generous. A cheap pair of tinted sunglasses did basically the same thing for a third of the price, so I’d save your money unless you also drive at night.
The phone charger thing is probably just the phone not pulling as hard once it hits a certain charge level. That happens with or without one of these plugged in. Small stuff draws so little that I doubt you’d ever feel a real difference either way.
The account is the thing that matters, not the phone. I swapped devices twice with mine and the old weigh-ins were still sitting there once I logged in. Whether that holds if you jump between Android and iOS I couldn’t tell you, but the app itself didn’t wipe anything on me.
Depends what you mean by easier. Less wrist work, sure. But you still have to hold the bottle steady and line the thing up straight, and if you get that off the cork comes out at an angle. The old twist handle let me feel what was happening.
If the current blade setup is working for you, I would not bother switching. The wire thing has its place but it is not some magic upgrade over a metal blade for thick stuff. You are probably better off sticking with what you know unless you are having a specific problem with the blade.
Only way I see saved pairs mattering is if you’re the type who forgets to check what’s actually selected before talking. That’s on you, not the app. I swap between English/Spanish and English/Portuguese all the time and accuracy stays the same. The delay is the delay. It’s not like the app is reconfiguring the whole engine every time you switch.
If the stress reading doesn’t match how you feel, I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. Mine flags me as stressed whenever I’m sitting still watching a movie, but says I’m fine when I’m actually running around dealing with work nonsense. I just use it as a rough baseline now, not something I take seriously minute to minute.
It levels the file, but it still relies on you to hold the tool square to the chain. If your angle is off, the guide won’t fix that. I’d say check your own grip before blaming the tool. Most unevenness I’ve seen comes from rushing it, not the SawShark.
Had mine plugged in for about eight months now. It sits behind the living room TV and basically never gets unplugged. The stick itself stays cool to the touch whenever I bother to check it, which isn’t often. The USB power adapter gets slightly warm but nothing that makes me think twice about it.
The only thing I noticed after a few months is that the remote takes a second longer to wake it up from the idle screen. Not a big deal, just a tiny delay. I figured that was more about the software than the hardware getting cooked. I’ve had worse streaming boxes that ran hot enough to feel through the HDMI port, and this one doesn’t do that.
I did unplug it once to take it on a trip and it booted up fine after that. No weird behavior, no reset needed. It just acted like normal.
Honestly, it’s a cheap enough device that I’m not losing sleep over it. If it dies in two years from staying plugged in, I’ll just buy another one. They’re not expensive enough to baby. I’d say plug it in, forget about it, and only worry if you notice it actually getting hot when you touch it. That’s been my experience anyway.
I’ve done it on grates that were still warm, like maybe five or ten minutes after the coals died down. Not screaming hot, but definitely not room temperature either. The grease definitely loosens up faster at that point and the brush didn’t seem to care. The stainless head isn’t going to melt from a little residual heat.
That said, I wouldn’t try it right off the flame. Not because of the brush, but because anything you wipe off is just going to be super thin and runny and make more of a mess than it’s worth. Plus the handle gets warm and that’s not exactly comfortable to hold for a few minutes.
I think if you can hold your hand a few inches above the grate without yanking it back, you’re fine. If it’s still radiating serious heat, wait a bit. The tool handles warm just fine, but there’s no point in rushing it.
The storage card only matters if you want to save what you’re looking at. For basic night walking, you’re fine. Mine is basically just a fancy monocular most of the time.
I wouldn’t trust it for a whole hike if you actually need it. The offline stuff works for very basic exchanges, but it’s not like the full experience. If you’re in a pinch and just need a few words it’s fine, but don’t plan a whole conversation around it.
If you can feel it with your fingernail, don’t bother. That’s body work. If it’s just in the clear coat, it’s basically a polish situation and NuraFix might make it less visible, but it’s not going to disappear. I’d say try it on one spot and see if you’re okay with the result before doing the whole panel.
Mine does the same thing. The notification usually hits after the bird’s already flown off, so I mostly just end up watching an empty feeder. I stopped relying on the live view for that and just check the recorded clips later. Seems like that’s just how it is.

If you’re worried about it, just follow the instructions in the manual. But for real, plugging it in at counter height is not going to ruin anything. It’s not a smoke detector that needs to be on the ceiling. As long as it’s not tucked behind a curtain or something dumb, you’re fine.
If you’re just sitting at a desk, I wouldn’t overthink it. The strap does its job well enough for that. But if you’re expecting to walk around and have it stay perfectly in place, you’re probably going to be adjusting it. It’s fine for a stationary session, though.
Honestly, it’s just save states on a cheap emulator handheld. They’re never going to be 100% bulletproof. If you’re worried about losing progress, just use the in-game save too. Not really a big deal.
I mean, ice is ice. It’ll give you a colder blast for a few minutes but once it melts you’re back to normal. Seems like a lot of messing around for not much payoff.
Bit of a nothing question honestly. If it works it works, if it doesn’t it doesn’t. Just leave both in there and stop overthinking it.
