The hole thing took me a while to come around on. When I first tried a knife with one I mostly just ignored it, didn’t really put my finger through, and figured the whole feature was a gimmick. Then somewhere along the way I started actually using it without thinking about it, mostly on stuff where I wanted a bit more push, and now I kind of miss it when I use a regular knife. So my opinion flipped, but slowly, and only after I stopped treating it like a thing I had to learn and just let it happen.
My one real preference is that I like a pinch grip and the hole actually fits that for me. If you’re the type who chokes up on the blade anyway, it lines up. If you hold further back on the handle, it’s just going to sit there annoying you.
So I’d say give it a couple weeks of normal cooking, not a dedicated test or anything, just use it like any other knife. If you catch yourself forgetting the hole exists, that’s actually a good sign. If you keep avoiding it on purpose after that, then you probably just don’t hold knives that way, and there’s nothing wrong with going back to the old one.
The dusk window is the tricky part for any of these. Mine does okay once the bats are silhouetted, but before that it struggles to lock onto anything moving fast. I end up just watching with my eyes until it gets darker.
I run mine overnight too and I just leave the mist off. The fan on low is fine for me but the spray is what I actually hear.
I tried it once on a Korean drama and honestly the translated voice just talking over the actors bugged me more than anything. I ended up switching back to normal mode and just reading the subs like usual. Maybe it works better for slower stuff but for anything with real pacing it felt off to me.
I actually went back to my old twist handle after a couple months with the electric one. It wasn’t harder exactly, just a different kind of fiddly, and I got tired of worrying about the battery. The twist one I can just grab and go.
I’d just charge it and start scribbling on scrap wood first. The tips are on there but switching them out is half the fun once you figure out which one suits your hand. Expect a few ugly lines before anything looks clean.
I don’t think you can just shrug off the time part. The decompression and heat need a bit of a runway to actually do anything, so five minutes mostly just feels nice in the moment. I’d rather do the full session less often than shortchange it every day.
Matcha is one of those things where a stirrer just isn’t going to beat a proper whisk or shaker, no matter what the cup claims. I’ve watched people try every gadget out there and the powder still finds a way to sit in little pockets. The problem isn’t really the stirring part, it’s that matcha needs that fast side to side agitation to break the surface tension on the clumps. A magnetic stir bar spinning in the middle of the cup just kind of pushes the powder around in a circle. If you’re mainly doing matcha every morning, I’d probably keep a small whisk around and use the mug for keeping it hot instead. For protein shakes it’s a different story since those powders dissolve way easier. So it kinda depends which one you care about more.
I’ll be the odd one out here, but I found it way less of a problem than I expected. My fridge is one of those older, narrower models, not a full-size, and I just tucked mine upright against the back wall near the crisper drawer. It’s got a rounded shape so it doesn’t really dig into anything.
The bigger thing for me was the cord when I have to charge it every couple of weeks. That pulls it out, and I have to shuffle a few bottles to get it back in. But day to day, it sits in that gap that normally just collects random stuff anyway. I don’t think about it unless I actually open the drawer right next to it.
If your fridge is packed wall to wall, sure, it might be annoying. But if you’ve got any dead space, it disappears back there.
I got mine a few weeks ago and was curious about the same thing since I mostly listen to podcasts and playlists. Plugged in, my car always sounded fine, so I figured wireless had to be a downgrade somewhere. Honestly, I haven’t noticed anything that bothers me. The volume feels the same, no weird hiss or tinny quality.
The only thing I did notice is that sometimes there’s a tiny gap when you skip a track, like half a second before the next one starts. It doesn’t happen all the time and it’s not enough to annoy me, but it’s there. With the cable, skipping was instant. If you’re the type to constantly jump between songs, you might notice it more than I do.
For regular listening, I think you’d have a hard time telling the difference. I wouldn’t let sound quality stop you from getting rid of the cable hassle, personally.
The coverage claims are more about roaming agreements than actual signal strength. I used mine at a campsite where my phone showed emergency calls only and still got a weak but usable connection for about half the time. Not exactly reliable, but better than nothing when you’re off the grid.
Mine gets through a full day on motion detect without dying, but I wouldn’t push it much past that if there’s regular activity. It’s more of a daily charge kind of thing for me. If your spot is quiet, you might get lucky and stretch it, but I wouldn’t count on it.
Mine got left out overnight after a light drizzle and was fine the next morning. The buttons felt a bit sticky for a day but went back to normal once it dried out. I would say just give it a wipe and dont leave it sitting wet for hours.
I’d say try it on a less visible spot first if you’re set on using it. I know someone who used it on their taillight and it was fine for a few weeks, but the coating seemed to wear off quicker than it does on paint and they ended up having to redo it. For hazy headlights, you’re probably better off just doing the sanding route anyway if you want it to last.

The drops on the windshield are exactly what these glasses help with in my experience. I drove through a solid downpour on the highway a few weeks back and the difference was pretty obvious. The droplets still catch light, but they don’t bloom into that blinding mess. I was surprised how much it cut down on the general chaos of rain at night.
Took mine out for a quick veg prep session the other day and I get what you mean about the handle. I think it sits differently depending on how you grip it, but once I moved my hand up a little it felt more natural. Not something that would bother me long term though.
I’ve only used mine for shorter bursts, but the weight itself was never the problem for me. What got me was that I kept squeezing the trigger harder than I needed to, so my fingers got tired before my arm did. Takes a minute to find a comfortable pressure and then it’s fine.
I’ve got an old selfie stick that still clicks in perfectly, so the mounting system seems pretty standard to me.
