Figured I’d just leave it on the desk and see how it goes instead of overthinking it. Based on what everyone said, nothing points to it being a real problem, so I’ll try that first and drill later if I feel like it.
I don’t think it’s really easier, just different. My twist handle was never a problem for me, and the electric one still needs you to hold the bottle steady and line it up right. The only real win for me is less wrist work after a few bottles.
My ceiling fan is usually on medium anyway and I just aim the AiraBreeze toward the side of the bed instead of straight up. That combo works fine for me, I don’t really mess with it.
I’ve had a UV cap bottle for maybe four months and I actually still get a little smell if I leave water sitting over a weekend. Not as fast as a normal bottle, but it’s not like the thing stays fresh forever. I mostly notice it around the lid threads, which the UV probably doesn’t hit as well. So for daily water where you refill and drink regularly it’s fine, but if your main issue is forgetting the bottle for days, I wouldn’t count on the cap to fully solve that. The charging part is whatever, I just plug it in when I remember. It’s a nice bottle overall but the UV isn’t some magic switch that makes cleaning optional.
Mine goes in a regular case just fine. The fit is a little snug around the wings but nothing that made me go buy a special one.
I think a lot of it depends on what you’re used to. I switch between my work laptop and phone all day and it’s never made me want to throw them across the room. It connects fast enough once you’ve paired each device the first time. Not flawless, but definitely not the constant forget-and-repair nightmare some brands put you through.
I get where you’re coming from, but honestly the brightness has never been that big of a deal for me. I just angle the mount a bit differently when I’m driving at night and it cuts most of the glare. It’s a small screen, so it doesn’t take much to block it out.
I’d say the 37-45 dB number is pretty accurate, but it’s the kind of sound that might get on your nerves if you’re really sensitive. I ran mine in a smaller room and it was fine for background noise, but I could see it being annoying if you’re trying to sleep in total silence.
Mine usually shows up a block or two away from where it actually is, which is fine for finding my bag in a store or whatever, but I wouldn’t rely on it to tell me which couch cushion it’s under.
I put one on my iPad about two months ago and honestly forgot it was there until I read this thread. It’s small enough that it doesn’t really stand out, even on the bigger surface. I have mine on a case with a bit of texture and it hasn’t budged, so you should be fine either way.
Personally I would skip it for mirrors and just use a regular glass cleaner. Steam cleaners are great for a lot of stuff but for glass I feel like you are just making extra work for yourself. A microfiber cloth and spray is faster and I know it won’t streak.
If surge protection is the main reason you’re looking at this, I’d probably skip it and get a decent surge protector instead. Those are cheap and made specifically for that job. StopWatt seems more like a long game for your power bill than something I’d rely on during a storm.
The app is nicer, but the real win is not having to fiddle with carrier lists when you land somewhere new.
It sounds like you already figured it out. That haze is basically just leftover product that needs more time being worked into the paint. I’ve done the same thing on a fender scratch and a quick dry cloth pass fixed it right up.
Mine sits on a couple of command hooks in the bedroom and I barely notice any ripples once a movie starts. The edges have a little wave if I look for it, but I’m not usually staring at the corners. It’s flatter than I expected for something that gets folded up between uses.

I would point it toward the main area where the animals actually come in. I tried just sticking mine in the ground with no real direction and it did nothing for a week. Once I turned it to face the path they use, I noticed a difference pretty fast. So yeah, direction matters more than I thought.

A puppy that young is still forming habits, so stopping the noise before it becomes a pattern makes more sense to me than letting it go on for months. If it interrupts the bark without scaring them, that’s basically what you’d do manually anyway.
I’ve had a different experience with mine. I clipped it to my carry-on for a couple of trips and the movement alerts actually went off when my bag got shifted around in the overhead bin. It’s not a real-time GPS thing, but as a cheap way to know if something’s being moved when it shouldn’t be, it did what I needed. I think people expect too much from a Bluetooth tag.
I think the bigger concern is the arms more than the lens width honestly. Mine are pretty substantial frames and they go on okay, but I can feel them pressing after a while if I’m on a long drive. They work fine for commuting though, just not something I’d want to wear for hours on end.
I’d say it’s probably worth one more trip if you’ve got the time, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high. Wet sand packs down fast and keys are small enough to disappear pretty quickly. I lost a pair of sunglasses once in the dry sand and found them like three weeks later just by kicking around the same spot, so stuff does resurface sometimes. But keys are heavier and the tide zone is a whole different story. I’m the type who would rather spend an hour wandering around with my eyes on the ground than pay for a new set, but that’s just me. If you don’t have a spare, it might be easier to just bite the bullet now. Either way, I wouldn’t keep checking forever. One more look and then move on.
It’s funny, I remember when I first got mine I figured it would be a one or two week thing and then I’d be ordering another one. But it just keeps going. I’ve had it for maybe four or five months now, not using it every day but regularly enough on door dings and little scuffs around the bumper. It still does the job, though I do think you have to pay attention to how much pressure you’re applying as it gets older.
The thing that changed my mind is that it doesn’t really reach a point where it just dies. It’s more like you start noticing you’re doing a few extra passes to get the same result. I wouldn’t say it gets useless, just slower. The one thing I will say is that I treat it like a sponge now. If it looks dirty or like it picked up too much gunk, I rinse it out before using it again. That seemed to help more than anything.
I think if you’re seeing it still pull out light scratches, it’s probably fine. You’ll know it’s on its way out when you’re rubbing for a solid minute and the scratch still looks exactly the same as when you started. That’s when I’d swap it. Until then, I wouldn’t overthink it.
Mine has a little play too when the card is seated, but it hasn’t caused any issues so far. I mostly use it for grabbing quick videos of critters in the yard and everything saves fine. If it clicks in and stays put, I wouldn’t worry about it. These budget devices usually have some give somewhere.
The peppermint spray is fine, but for me it was always a chore. I’d spray the baseboards and then a week later I’d catch myself wondering if I actually did it or just thought about doing it. That’s where the pouch wins for me. You just put it somewhere and it sits there doing its thing for a few weeks.
What surprised me is the scent difference. The spray smells like straight up peppermint oil when you put it on, which is fine, but the pouch smells a bit more… herbal? I guess? It’s still pleasant, not overpowering. I put one in my pantry and I could smell it faintly when I opened the door, but it wasn’t annoying. My wife noticed it too and she usually hates any kind of scent stuff.
I can’t really say if rodents are repelled more or less by one vs the other. I just know I see less signs of mice since I switched. Whether that’s the pouch or just that I’m actually keeping up with it because I don’t have to remember to spray, I don’t know. Probably a bit of both.
The only thing I’d say is the pouch does lose its scent quicker than I expected in the summer. I guess the heat just makes it fade faster. But I just swapped it out and it was fine. I’d rather do that than keep buying spray bottles anyway.
