Work calls are exactly what I use mine for most, mostly with a supplier in Mexico. There’s a small lag if someone talks fast, but you get used to it after a call or two. I mostly just leave one bud in so I can still hear them normally too.
I’d say stick with the old one if the hole still bugs you after a couple weeks. For me it never turned into some magical control thing, it just became a spot where food bits collect while I’m prepping.
Mine actually feels firmer than I expected, so I’m not sure the softness is the whole story. The old red one I had was stiff but it also had a rounder shape that kind of sat on my face instead of around my mouth. The ResQVac adult mask is wider and flatter, so on me it doesn’t feel softer so much as just shaped different. Almost like it’s meant to cover more area. I tried it on myself once and it sat fine, but my brother has a narrower face and he said it felt loose around the edges compared to the old style. So maybe it’s less about soft versus stiff and more about which face shape it happens to match. I still tossed it in the kitchen drawer since it’s compact, but I’m not assuming it’ll feel the same on everyone who tries it.
I’ve only had mine since February and haven’t paid anything past the purchase. But a buddy who grabbed his later said the app kept pushing some premium voice pack, so the no subscription thing might depend on when you bought them.
I prefer using mine without the brush head on stairs. The bare nozzle gets into the corners better and it handles a full flight fine if I don’t rush it. Takes me maybe ten minutes for the whole set.
Mine lives in my back pocket with my wallet and it’s been about a month now. Body heat hasn’t been an issue at all as far as I can tell. It’s more about whether the card is actually sitting between your wallet and the outside, which in my case it does.
I’ve carried mine from the front yard to the back patio a bunch of times now and honestly it’s not something I think twice about. It’s got some heft to it, sure, but no worse than hauling a decent drill around. I can see my arm getting a bit tired if I was cleaning the whole driveway in one go, but for moving around and doing spots here and there, it never bothered me.
I’ve pulled a handful of synthetic corks with mine and never really had an issue. The firmer ones do feel a bit more sluggish, but I just chalked it up to the material being denser than natural cork. As long as it gets the job done without shredding the cork, I’m not too bothered by it.
I think people put way too much weight on the “4K” part of these things. It’s just upscaling, plain and simple. If your TV already handles 1080p content well, you’re not going to see some massive difference that makes it worth stressing over. I’d rather have a clean, simple retro picture than a fake sharpened mess.
I grabbed one after my tower fan died too. The airflow is definitely softer, no question about that. But my main takeaway after a couple weeks is that it’s just way more practical for me, especially since I can move it around the house without dragging a cord everywhere. I don’t think it’s weaker, just different, and for the spaces I use it in, it does the job fine.
Tap water’s fine for it, I’ve been using mine with sink water since I got it. The UV part just does its thing regardless. I will say the self-cleaning mode is nice if you forget to rinse it out, keeps the bottle from getting that funky smell.
It’s been a few months with mine and I’ve only had it fail to auto-connect once. The phone was still in the adapter’s memory, it just needed a nudge. I wouldn’t call it a real forget, more like a hiccup that sorted itself out after I toggled the car off and back on. Seems like one of those things that happens occasionally and then goes back to normal.
Mine runs warm too but mine does that even in Everyday Mode if the fridge door has been shut for a long stretch. I figure it’s just the unit working and not a big deal. I’ve had mine for a couple months now and it’s been fine, so I wouldn’t read too much into it.
I’d probably wait until it’s warm but not crazy hot. That middle ground seems like the sweet spot where the grease is still soft enough to come off without feeling like you’re pushing the tool too hard. I wouldn’t go straight from the flames though, no reason to test the bristles like that.
I’ve had that happen a couple times when I was in a hurry. The film is pretty much just product that didn’t get fully rubbed away. A second pass with a dry part of the cloth usually cleans it up fine, so I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong.
Mine started dropping off around the three month mark too, but I also use the heat setting almost every time. I figure that pulls more power, so it kind of makes sense. It still gets me through a solid week of daily use before I need to find the charger, so I’m not complaining.
It does slide a bit on me too, but I found that wearing it over a t-shirt or a hoodie instead of directly on my skin keeps it from moving as much. I usually just adjust it when I get up to grab something and it is fine. The fabric on my couch also seems to catch it better than my chair.
The light brightness is probably the last thing I’d worry about with this thing. I’ve used mine a few nights in the backyard and even on the lower setting it does its job once the sun goes down. In a tent, you’re basically giving it a head start since it’s so dark in there anyway.
I will say the zapping sound is what actually sold me on it. You hear that little crackle and you know it’s working. I think people expect it to be some kind of spotlight and it’s just not, but bugs don’t need that much to find it. We’re talking about stuff that flies into porch lights all night.
If you’re already in a tent with the thing running, I’d say you’re good. The 360 thing matters more in a tent than anywhere else honestly. Just charge it up before you leave and you’ll be set for the weekend.
It’s kind of hit or miss, honestly. I’ve got mine tucked behind a bookshelf in the corner, probably a good 12 feet from any window, and it does the job for the most part. The main networks come in fine. I do lose a channel or two if the weather is really bad, but for everyday use it’s been fine.
I think the whole window thing gets blown out of proportion. These antennas are more forgiving than the old ones we grew up with. You might have to play around with the placement a bit, like move it a foot to the left or higher up on the wall, but I wouldn’t stress about it being right next to glass. If you have a decent signal in your area, it should pick it up. Just plug it in and run the channel scan twice, that seemed to help mine grab a few extra stations.
I’ve had mine for a couple months now and wear it under regular fit chinos when I’m out on the weekend. It adds a bit of shape but nothing that screams brace, more like a thicker base layer. The only time I notice it is if I sit for a long stretch, then I just adjust the strap. For errands and walking it’s fine.
I’d still grab it if I were you. I’ve got the kind of nose hair that grows like weeds and mine hasn’t pulled once. Just don’t wait until they’re sticking out like a hedgehog before you run it through, keep up with it every few days and it’s a non-issue.
That little bit of play is probably just how they’re made. I noticed the same thing on mine and it’s been fine for a couple months now, card never pops out or anything. I’d just keep an eye on it and not worry unless it starts acting up.
