I get more restriction from plain sleeves honestly. Mine used to bunch up behind the knee, which bugged me more than any side piece ever did. The DrFlexa stays put so I forget it’s on during walks.
I treat those numbers like gas mileage ratings. You might see them once under perfect conditions, but I got around 30 hours total before needing to plug the case in. Still good enough for me, just not 50.
Twice a week for a minute is nothing, that thing will basically live on standby. I plug mine in maybe once a month and it’s still going. The only thing I’d watch is tossing it in a bag with the button getting pressed.
I mostly cared about the filter side since my water is pretty hard, and that part has been fine. Pressure wise mine runs about the same as the old cheap head I had for years, maybe slightly softer if anything. I’m not really chasing a power shower though, so it doesn’t bug me.
I use mine mostly for white noise actually, so the fan sound doesn’t bug me. But I get why total silence people would notice it more at night.
5GHz helped mine when the router was close but the stick was in another room so it kept dropping anyway. I just left it on auto and it picked whatever worked. Sound like yours is fine most of the time so I wouldn’t mess with settings unless it gets worse.
Shelf is fine if you just want the basics, but you’ll probably lose some channels compared to having it near glass. I ran mine on a bookshelf for a while and it picked up the main locals, that’s about it. If the kitchen is your only window, might as well try it there first and see what you get.
I haven’t found a way to kill the screen completely on mine either. I just flip the mount so the screen faces the windshield at night. It blocks the view a little but honestly I’d rather have that than the glow bouncing off my side window.
The first time I took mine out of the bag I figured it would take forever because I had to fiddle with the app and figure out which cable went where for the controller. But honestly, the second flight was the real test. I was at a park with my kid and just wanted a quick shot of the playground before the light got weird. I didn’t even think about the setup, I just unfolded it, switched everything on, and the app connected before I finished zipping my jacket back up.
What actually eats time for me is the pre-flight check I do on the props. I spin them by hand just to make sure nothing is bent or catching from however I stuffed it in my backpack last time. That takes longer than the pairing does. If you’re the type who just wants to launch, you’ll be fine. But if you’re like me and you give it a quick once-over every time, budget an extra minute for that.
I wouldn’t stress about the app being a pain. It’s not the smoothest thing in the world, but it’s not a fight either. The only real delay was the first charge, because I didn’t plan ahead and had to wait for the battery to fill up before I could even start. That was on me though, not the drone.
Most of these budget cams don’t include one, so I’d say plan on grabbing a card. I’d pick up a 64GB or so because 4K eats space faster than you’d think. Even if one does show up in the box, having a spare is never a bad thing.
Distance is part of it, but so is how the air moves around the room. I found mine works way better when it’s not blasting me directly, but sort of angled so it bounces off the wall or a monitor. Same with my old fan, actually.
I would not write it off just because of the window situation. These things are basically a game of trial and error anyway. My setup is far from ideal and I still got the channels I actually watch, so it is not like you need perfect conditions for it to be useful.
Mine’s been warm after Boost too, but it also does that when I leave it in there with the door closed all weekend. I think it’s just the ceramic part working, same as you said. I’ve had mine for a few months now and haven’t noticed any issues from it.
I think people overestimate how much a couch actually blocks these things. Sound waves bounce around a room, they don’t travel in a straight line like a flashlight beam. I wouldn’t rearrange your living room just for this.
I don’t see why it would be a problem, the steam is gone by the time it hits the glass anyway. I’d just be careful around the seal and the edges where the glass meets the frame, that’s more of a concern than the glass itself. If it cleaned up the greasy film that quickly, I’d say you’re fine to keep using it there.
You can fly it without the phone, sure, but you’re basically guessing where the camera is pointed. I tried that once and ended up filming a tree and some power lines. The phone is the only screen you get, so it might as well be part of the kit.
Probably the screen and the standby time. I had mine in my pack for most of a day and it was warm when I pulled it out to grab a shot. Since then I just make sure it’s fully off if I’m not going to use it for a while, not just in sleep mode.
It’s one of those things where you just gotta look at the numbers stamped on your chain. I’m not gonna pretend I knew mine off the top of my head, but once I checked, it was pretty obvious it’d fit. Most of the common stuff seems to be covered.
I get the hesitation, the numbers sound impressive but marketing loves to stretch things. I have not taken mine for actual laps yet, only showered with it a few times, which is probably not the same pressure. If you do try it, just check the sensors afterwards for any weird readings before trusting the data for training.
TENS always felt like tiny electrical pinches to me, hard to relax into it. The vibration on this is way more physical, like a strong massage pad pressing into the muscles. I actually fell asleep using it once, never could have done that with the old borrowed TENS unit.
I just set mine on a flat rock near the garden and angled it kind of toward the middle of the yard. Never really messed with it after that and it’s been scaring off the neighbor’s cat for a couple months now. I think the sensor picks up movement more than anything, so as long as nothing’s blocking the front you’re probably good.
I’d say give it another week or two. Mine stayed tight for a while and then one morning I just didn’t notice it anymore. It’s not that the material loosened a ton, more that it settled into place.
The phone signal thing gets thrown around a lot but honestly it’s a non-issue. The adapter sets up its own little Wi-Fi bubble between the phone and the car screen. Your cellular bars have nothing to do with that connection. I’ve used mine in spots where my phone shows no service at all and CarPlay still pops up fine.
The only thing I’d pay attention to is the USB port you plug it into. If that port cuts power when the car shuts off, the adapter has to boot up fresh every time. Some cars keep power flowing for a while and that makes reconnecting way smoother. But as far as being in a dead zone for calls or data, it doesn’t change how the adapter behaves. It’s a separate link entirely.
Mine does that too, honestly. It’s weird because the buds connect fine to the phone itself, it’s just the app that acts like it can’t see them. I’ve had the same thing where I gotta kill the app and reopen it. I just figured it’s one of those apps that needs a minute to catch up. Not a dealbreaker for me since the translation part works once it finally connects.
