Mine mostly stay in the case unless I’m on a call, so I’ve only charged the case itself maybe twice in a few weeks. No clue where the total lands but it hasn’t annoyed me yet.
My experience was pretty much the opposite. The small electronics in my place are exactly where I saw the change, especially my desk lamp flickering less. I have not noticed anything with my bigger stuff at all.
Mine didn’t do much at all in my office and I ended up sending it back after about two weeks. Everyone keeps saying these are for personal heat but mine barely warmed anything past my keyboard.
Mine is the same way, only works if I’m basically in front of it. I tried from my kitchen once and got nothing, so I just get up now. Wasn’t expecting much from a fan remote anyway.
I’ve moved my dash cam between three different cars over the years and never had a ring stick around permanently. The one time I did get a mark, it came off after a couple of days parked outside in the sun. Glass seems to kind of self-clean that stuff if you give it time. I get wanting to be careful with a new car though, but I really don’t think a suction cup is going to mess up your windshield. That glass is a lot tougher than people give it credit for. If anything it’s usually just whatever was on the cup itself that leaves the mark, not the glass getting damaged. Wipe the cup down before you stick it on the new car and you should be fine. Worst case you get another faint ring and it fades like the first one did.
Mine is way too strong for shelf dust even on the low setting, it just launches everything into the air. I still use it in the garage but only for the floor and corners, not shelves. For actual shelf dust I stick with a rag or brush.
Mine handles it a bit better when I’m moving than when I stop, which I never really expected. Same ride, same trees, but the stills look way darker than the clips. Could just be me though.
It’s a decent upgrade over a plain nozzle if you’re trying to blast dried dirt off without scrubbing as much. I still use a bucket for the soap part, but the JetClean handles the rinse way faster for me. Not night and day, but noticeable.
I always assumed the offline part was just a handful of common languages, since that’s how most of these gadgets seem to work. The 68 number probably covers online mode only. If you really need it in dead zones, I’d look for one that lists the offline languages right on the box.
I’ve had mine sitting beside my monitor for about a month now and I haven’t really had the paper problem. But I’ll be honest, my desk is usually pretty clean, so there’s just not much loose stuff for it to grab. The one time I did notice it moving something was when I had a napkin sitting right next to the base, and that was on the higher setting.
I think my preference is just to keep it angled slightly away from me and toward the wall, which sounds weird but it kind of pushes air around the room instead of straight at my desk. I don’t run it on max either, usually the middle setting is plenty for my space. If you’ve got a fan of loose receipts or whatever sitting around though, I could see it being annoying. Maybe just clear a little zone around it if it bugs you.
I think the whole “cloth with compound” thing is exactly why it’s probably fine. You’re not machine polishing or doing anything aggressive, just working a mild abrasive by hand. The amount of clear coat you’re moving is so tiny that it would take years of regular use to make a noticeable difference. I’d be more worried about not cleaning the surface first and grinding dirt into the paint.
I think it really depends on what you mean by “easily.” The file structure thing is true, but the built-in game list is actually pretty solid for the price. I would just check what emulators it actually runs before buying, since some of these devices are pickier about certain systems than others.
I actually think it’s better that they don’t include one. The cards that get bundled with cameras like this are usually tiny and slow anyway. You’d end up replacing it before you even leave the house, so it’s not really saving you anything.
I’ve used mine on our patio doors a handful of times and I don’t get the messy complaints. The spray stays pretty tight if you don’t hold it too far back. I’ve had way more splatter from a regular hose nozzle than from this thing.
If it’s mainly for sitting near your desk or beside the bed, I’d say go for it. But if you’re expecting it to cool down a whole room the way a tower fan does, you’re probably going to be let down. I had mine for about a month before I moved it to just personal use near my couch. It’s fine for that, but I wouldn’t want it as my only fan.
Yeah, placement makes a bigger difference than you’d think. I had mine on the corner of my desk for a while and barely noticed it, then slid it closer to my monitor, kind of in front of my keyboard, and it was a whole different thing. The cooling effect really does drop off fast once you’re more than a couple feet away.
Also, I found out pretty quick that it’s not just distance. The angle matters too. If it’s pointed straight at your chest it feels like nothing, but tilted up toward your face a bit and suddenly it’s actually doing something. I think it’s because the air needs to hit your skin directly to feel cool, otherwise it just mixes with the room air and disappears.
I ended up keeping mine pretty close, basically within arm’s reach, and that’s been the sweet spot for me.
I pretty much set a reminder on my phone for every 3 months and just swap it then. I don’t trust myself to notice when the water feels different, by that point it’s probably been past due for a while anyway. The cartridges aren’t that expensive so I’d rather just change it on a schedule and not think about it.
I think a lot of it comes down to where your hand naturally sits. I noticed the same thing at first, but once I stopped gripping it so tight and let my fingers rest a bit further up, it felt way more neutral. Took me a couple of days to find that spot.
I really don’t think ice is worth the hassle unless you’re sitting right next to it in a hot room. With just water it’s basically a slightly cooler fan, which is fine for a desk. I stopped bothering with ice after the first couple days and haven’t missed it.
Good to see the thread still going. I never ended up grabbing one, mostly because my lab is stubborn enough that I figured I’d end up relying on the shock more than I’d like. Sounds like the vibration is useful but not a magic fix, which is kind of what I expected. Appreciate everyone sharing their experiences, it helped me decide to just stick with training and a front clip harness for now.
I think a lot of it comes down to how fast you wash it. I’m not saying that to defend the board, but I’ve noticed that if I get lazy and let something sit for a bit, that’s when I catch a smell. If I rinse it right after I’m done cutting, I don’t notice anything. That said, I’m not expecting it to be magic. I got it mainly because I was tired of my old plastic board staining, and that part has been fine. The smell thing I just factor into my routine. I don’t know, maybe I’m just used to being a little careful with it. I’d probably be more annoyed if I was the type to leave stuff on the counter while I cook other things.
I’d keep the radiator if it still works and just deal with moving it. The ceramic ones are fine for pointing at yourself while you sit, but I wouldn’t call it a straight upgrade. If portability is the only reason, you might end up missing that heavy warmth.
I’ve used mine with a bucket a bunch of times and it gets the job done. Pressure drops a bit compared to a hose, but for a quick car rinse or cleaning patio furniture it’s fine. You just gotta keep an eye on the water level so it doesn’t suck air.
The pull pin on the AlarmTag is definitely smoother than the old keychain ones I remember. I’ve had mine clipped to my bag for a few months now and tested it a couple times just to get a feel for it. It comes out clean without that awkward tugging you had to do on the older models.
