I picked up a pair mainly because my commute home faces the sun for about twenty minutes and it was starting to give me a headache by the time I got home. Not the blinding kind of glare where you can’t see, more just that constant low sun bouncing off the hood and the car in front of me. I wore them for a couple weeks and honestly the biggest difference wasn’t the sun itself, it was the dashboard reflection on the windshield. That annoying pale glow across the glass mostly went away, which I didn’t expect.
I still use the visor when it’s really bad, so it’s not some magic fix. But on normal bright days I notice my eyes feel less tired when I get out of the car, and I stopped squinting as much. That’s about the whole benefit for me. It’s a comfort thing more than anything.
As for whether it’s worth the money, I’d say it depends on how much time you spend driving into the sun. If it’s just the occasional errand, you probably won’t notice much. My drive is basically the same direction every evening so it added up for me. I don’t think it does anything crazy, it just takes the edge off.
I actually think it works better on a desk than mounted, at least for me. Sitting on a shelf it blows right at my chair instead of over my head, and it hasn’t tipped or slid around once. Stability really hasn’t been an issue.
The oil ones always gave me that slow background heat that stuck around. Ceramic stuff just feels like a warm breeze pointed at you. Different kind of warm, not really worse.
I’d rather have the heat and compression at home than at my desk. My shoulders get tight after work, not during it, so wearing something like that while typing feels pointless for me personally.
I’d check the projector’s game mode before blaming the screen. Mine felt slightly off until I turned that on, then it was fine. The cloth itself isn’t going to add delay.
I actually use mine way more for the light than the siren. When I’m walking the dog at night I just leave it clipped outside my jacket pocket so cars can spot me, and it flashes through pretty well even if it’s not fully out in the open.
A plain hose nozzle is still fine for most washes, so I wouldn’t bother if that’s all you’re after. The JetClean earns its keep when there’s no tap nearby, like rinsing stuff at the back of the yard. Pressure wise it’s a bit stronger but nothing dramatic.
Mine does the same thing and I just accepted it as normal. If there’s anything lightweight in the path it’s going to move, that’s just what air does. I mostly keep mine aimed at my face anyway so it barely comes up.
I think the ten minute mark is about where my skin starts telling me it’s done with that spot. Not painful, just that same weird buzzy feeling you mentioned, like the stimulation is hitting a nerve that’s already had enough. I move them around sooner than the manual suggests too, but I don’t treat it as a problem. For me it’s more about coverage anyway. I’ll do a few minutes on one part of my neck, shift to the other side, then down to the upper back. It feels like I’m getting more use out of the session that way instead of just leaving them parked in one place and zoning out. The only time I actually leave them put is when I’m using the heat mode, because that just feels like a warm compress and I can let it sit longer without that odd tingle building up.
I’d probably just keep the stream at a lower setting and not hold it too close. That’s what I do with anything painted and it’s been fine so far. Worst case you’ll notice pretty quick if it’s too much, so you can back off before any real damage.
I really don’t think it’s that bad weight-wise, but I get why some people find it awkward. For me, it’s all about how you’re moving it around. Picking it up from one spot to another is fine, but if you’re holding it up high or reaching around stuff for too long, the size gets annoying. I’d rather carry it than drag a hose setup though.
I just put a small piece of electrical tape over the screen on mine. Not the prettiest fix but it kills the glare completely and I can still peel it back if I need to check something. Worked better than digging through the menus.
The delay is usually not the problem for me, it’s more that the location can be a block or two off when it finally does update. If you’re picturing it guiding you to the exact couch cushion, you’ll be disappointed. It’s better for figuring out which building you left your stuff in.
I think it depends what you mean by stains. If you’re expecting it to erase years of coffee buildup in one go, you’ll be disappointed. But as a maintenance thing between dentist visits, I’ve found it keeps my front teeth from getting that dingy look in the first place. That alone was worth it for me.
It’s probably fine, but mine runs cool even after I leave it in Boost for a whole day. I don’t think I’ve ever felt it warm up at all, so maybe it depends on the unit or where you’ve got it placed.
The warranty question is fair, but I think it really comes down to how invasive the part is. Since SynGas just sits in the OBD2 port and doesn’t actually change any wiring or hardware, I can’t see a dealer trying to pin an engine problem on it. They’d have a hard time proving a little plug caused that kind of damage.
I noticed the same thing with mine around the second or third week. The smoothing side definitely mellowed out, but honestly I kind of prefer it now since the initial roughness felt a bit much. It still gets the job done for me, so I just stopped paying attention to it.
I’d just test it the way you actually use it and see if it bugs you. I’ve had mine about two weeks now, checking in from work and from the store a few times, and the delay is there but it’s not something I really notice unless I’m staring at the screen waiting for movement. The cat’s usually not doing much anyway, so a second or two doesn’t change anything for me.
I think the pull pin is way easier compared to the older ones I messed with. I grabbed mine out of my bag and pulled it just to see, and it came out without any of that awkward tugging. Obviously you want it to stay in place normally, but it feels like it actually moves when you need it to.
I’d say treat it as a nice to have rather than something to depend on. The offline stuff gets the job done for short, simple stuff but it’s not going to handle a full conversation with any real depth. For a hike where you might need actual help, I’d rather have signal.
The notification delay is pretty much baked into how these cameras work. Mine does the same thing, so I just use it as a heads up that something happened rather than trying to catch the bird in the moment. I have better luck just checking the recorded clips when I get the ping.
I think a lot of it comes down to how the app handles the handoff between the phone’s own Bluetooth menu and the app’s internal connection. I’ve noticed mine will show as connected on the phone itself, but the app still acts like it can’t see the earbuds until I tap into the app’s connection screen and let it search again. It’s almost like the app doesn’t trust the system connection and wants to verify it on its own.
What’s weird is it seems to happen more often when I haven’t used them in a while. If I use them daily, the app connects on the first try pretty much every time. But if I leave them sitting for a few days, the first open is always the one that fails. So I just got into the habit of opening the app first, then taking the buds out of the case, and that seems to help. Not sure if that’s the actual fix or just a coincidence, but it’s been working for me.
