Been looking at the Epicooler for a small bedroom. Read a few people saying the heating side feels stronger than the cooling. Is that actually true or just a few units acting weird? Trying to figure out if it’ll actually cool the room or just blow air around.

I think the heating just feels stronger because your body notices the warmth more directly. The cooling is more of a gentle breeze effect. It definitely cools the room down but nothing like a window unit.

Honestly I think the cooling works fine for me. I use it in my bedroom at night and it definitely drops the temp a few degrees. Maybe people aren’t running it on the right power mode or something.

I haven’t bought one yet but I did try a friend’s for an afternoon and the heat definitely felt more punchy while the cool setting just felt like a light fan. I just set mine to cooling and stand right in front of it when I want to feel it. The heating definitely pushes out more noticeable warmth but the cooling keeps my desk area comfortable enough.

I don’t really care about the heating side, I bought mine just for cooling and it’s fine for a small room if you sit close enough. The heating being stronger doesn’t bother me since I’d never use it anyway.

I can see why people say that. Heat hitting you directly always feels more intense than cool air slowly spreading. But if you’re expecting this to drop the room temperature like a window AC, I think you’d be disappointed. It’s more of a spot cooler than a room cooler.

I’d probably just grab one and see for myself. The heating feeling stronger doesn’t mean the cooling is weak, it’s just how your body registers warmth versus cool air. If you want it for a small bedroom, it’ll probably do the job fine for what it is.

I think it’s probably just how heat registers with your body more than the cooling being weak. I’ve noticed with mine that the cool air isn’t super dramatic right away but it does bring the temp down after a bit. Not totally sure if it’d handle a whole bedroom if the room gets really hot though.

Can’t say I’ve tested both modes back to back but the heating does warm up the room quicker than the cooling drops it. Still keeps my bedroom comfortable though.

It probably is just how heat hits you faster, but I’ve also noticed the fan speed feels lower in cooling mode unless you bump it up manually. Once you do that it moves air well enough for a small room.

I haven’t tried one yet but I’m leaning towards just getting it for the heating since that seems to be what it does best. The cooling part might just be a bonus.

Honestly, I think the heating feeling stronger is partly just physics, but also the fan speed might be set differently between modes by default. I noticed when I played with one in a store, the cooling fan felt gentler unless you crank it up manually. Could just be how it’s programmed out of the box.
