I’m not convinced it does much in that kind of traffic. Mine only really started showing gains once I was doing longer stretches at steady speed, the constant crawling never seemed to change anything. Stop and go is just where these things have the least to work with.
The tracker unit is what makes it look chunky, not the strap. On a 12 lb neck the weight is up top, so it can tilt forward a bit when they sniff around. Still stays put for me though.
I’d mainly think about which tip you actually need first, not whether it’s assembled. Mine took maybe ten minutes of practice on scrap before lines looked steady, mostly because the default head was too coarse for what I wanted. Swapping heads is quick though.
I started messing with the jaw position around day 10 and it worked out fine. Mine actually felt a bit tight the first few nights no matter what, so tweaking early helped me figure out where it was comfortable. Just go slow with it.

That’s just physics. But for the everyday “did I leave it at the gym” or “is it in the car” moments, it’s been way more reliable than I thought. It usually shows the right general area, not the exact spot, but close enough that I stop panicking.
The bigger surprise for me was the left behind alert. I forgot my wallet on a bench once and got the notification before I even walked ten feet away. That alone made me look at the whole thing differently. I stopped expecting real-time tracking and started treating it as a smart safety net.
If you’re expecting live street-level location every few seconds, you’ll be disappointed. If you just want a solid “last seen” signal when you’re scrambling to find your stuff, it does the job. I don’t regret grabbing one.
I’d actually disagree with the whole “squirrels won’t care” idea. I’ve had mine pointed near the bird feeder area for about three weeks now, and the squirrels have noticeably backed off. They still come around, but they don’t hang out the way they used to. Before, they’d sit on the feeder and empty it in an hour. Now they grab a few seeds and leave. That’s good enough for me.
I think the key is placement and frequency setting. I’m running the highest ultrasonic level and the LED light is facing the path they use to get into the yard. The cats got the memo real quick, but the squirrels took a few days longer. They’re not dumb, they’ll test the boundary and figure out where the annoying zone is. Once they learned that spot is right by the feeder, they stopped treating it like a buffet.
I saw someone say it only works low to the ground, but that doesn’t match what I’ve seen. Mine is mounted about two feet off the ground and it still affects them when they’re up on the feeder. They don’t get zapped or anything, but they clearly don’t like the noise. It’s not a miracle device, but it’s definitely not useless against squirrels.
Mine has done that a handful of times since I got it. Usually after the car has been sitting for a few days. I just assumed it was the head unit getting lazy, not the adapter.
If you’re relying on the noise reduction to save you in a busy airport cafe, I’d lower expectations a bit. I messed around with mine in a shopping mall food area and the filtering is decent for constant background hum, like the AC or crowd murmur, but the second you get a sharp noise, like a chair scraping or someone laughing loudly nearby, it seems to let that through. The earbuds pick up your voice better than I expected, but the translation still gets confused if there’s a sudden burst of noise right as you’re speaking.
I think the bigger factor is how close the mic is to your mouth and whether you’re holding the phone in front of you. In a busy place like an airport, I’d probably try to find a slightly quieter corner rather than relying on the earbuds to do all the work. They help, no doubt, but they’re not going to give you a silent bubble.
The remote is what sold me. I can start it from the hallway and shut the door without stepping back into the room, which is way better than my old plug-in timer that I’d always have to reach around furniture to switch on. The auto shutoff is nice too, but I mainly just like not having to fiddle with it every single time.
The game count is technically true but only because they’re counting every region variant and hacked ROM as a separate title. I’d say the actual unique library is closer to 400-500 games, which is still decent for the price. The real issue is that a lot of the filler is unlicensed junk that plays terribly, so you’ll spend more time scrolling past nonsense than actually playing.
Bucket works fine, but you have to manage your expectations. The self-priming hose pulls water okay, so you get a consistent stream while the bucket is full enough. It’s not like the spray dies out mid-panel, but once the water level drops below a certain point, the suction starts sucking air and the pressure drops off noticeably. You’ll notice it mostly when you’re rinsing and the spray turns into more of a sputter.
I mostly use mine for bikes and patio furniture, not full car washes. If I’m doing a whole car, I just accept that I’m stopping to top up the bucket every few minutes. It’s not a dealbreaker, especially if you use a bigger bucket, but it’s not the “set it and forget it” experience you’d get from a hose. For a quick rinse or a spot clean, it’s genuinely fine. Just don’t plan on doing a full detail without a few interruptions.
I’d skip the standard pillowcase honestly. Not because it won’t fit, but because it just looks messy and the fabric tends to slide around on the memory foam. The shape isn’t a normal rectangle, so you end up with extra material bunched up under your neck or hanging off the sides. It stays on but it’s not clean.
If I were you I’d just use the cover it came with and leave it at that. The cover is easy to wash anyway. Buying special pillowcases for this thing feels like a waste unless you really care about matching your bedding. For me it’s not worth the hassle of adjusting a loose case every night. Keep it simple.
It’s not like the UV light is beaming through the drywall. That would kind of defeat the whole purpose of the product. I get why you’re asking though, because the idea of something that kills germs with light sounds more intense than it actually is in practice.
I’ve run mine from the hallway a bunch of times. The remote has a decent range, so I just close the door, start the timer, and go make coffee or whatever. I can’t say I’ve ever felt anything weird or noticed any kind of glow seeping under the door. If the light was that powerful, I doubt they’d sell it for home use at all.
The main thing is just remembering it’s on. The auto shutoff helps, but I’ve definitely walked back in the room faster than I should have once or twice because I forgot I even started it. That’s more of a me problem than a product issue though.
Probably just the dust burning off the heating element. First time I flipped mine to heat it did the same thing, but it cleared up after a couple of cycles. If it lingers after a week, then I’d start paying attention to it.
Honestly I’d probably just try it and see. If the translation cuts out with one bud that would annoy me, but I think it depends on which mode you’re in. Touch mode might work differently than free conversation.
Most of the save state stuff I’ve seen online is people overthinking it. If you’re just playing basic NES or Game Boy games it’s fine.
Pretty much what I figured. Low pressure and some distance seems to be the general rule with these portable units. Good enough for me, I’ll just grab it and give it a shot on the windows this weekend.
I think the stiffness is by design honestly. The pin on mine hasn’t loosened up at all after a few months, so it’s probably just how they make them now.
The app thing sounds like a phone issue, mine was fine until I updated iOS and it got flaky. Try reinstalling the app before you bother with anything else.
Concentrated stream will definitely handle the moss better, just keep your distance so it doesn’t dig into the vinyl. I usually switch between the two depending on the spot.
It works fine with a converter box. The antenna doesn’t care how old the TV is as long as the box has a coaxial input.
