I don’t think the 176 number tells you much about the smaller spots. Mine would not connect on Rarotonga at all, just kept hunting for a signal while my phone had bars. Worked again once we got to Auckland, so I never figured out if it was the device or the roaming deal there.
Mine actually needed a longer first charge than the manual suggested. I plugged it in thinking it would be quick and the light stayed red for close to three hours before it finally went green, so that 8 hour thing definitely is not the norm anymore. I just fly until it beeps now and top it up after.
Isn’t the WarmPro specifically made for smaller enclosed rooms though? I think with high ceilings you’d need to basically park it right next to you for it to matter. Curious if anyone actually uses it in a big open space long term.
I went by the clock my first time and ended up waiting way longer than three minutes anyway. The part that actually bugged me was the smell, which nobody warns you about. It faded after a day but I still noticed it in the garage.
I went down this rabbit hole when I was deciding between a plain metal pick and something with vibration. From what I gathered, the ultrasonic part isn’t magic, it’s more that the tip vibrates so you’re not pushing and scraping as hard with your hand. That appeals to me because I always feel like I’m digging too aggressively with the basic pick. The tradeoff I kept seeing is that it still can’t get under the gumline, so anything serious is a dentist thing anyway. I’m leaning toward trying it for surface stuff and just keeping my expectations low. Curious how loud it actually is though, that’s the part nobody seems to mention.
I actually don’t think the charging thing is as annoying as people make it out to be. I had a similar UV cap bottle for about a year and I just plugged it in while I was at my desk maybe twice a week. That was enough to keep it going for the auto cycles. The smell thing was fine for me but I also wasn’t leaving water sitting in it for days on end. Where I noticed it most was actually the lid and the rim area, that’s where my old bottle got nasty first and the UV did seem to help there. But if you’re the type who forgets water in a bottle for a week, I don’t think any cap is saving you from that. It’s more of a maintenance thing than a magic fix.
If I grab the handle right, I can nudge the head over with my thumb mid-clean. Takes a little getting used to, but it beats stopping.
I haven’t noticed it being sticky exactly, more like it grabs a little if I wipe it and use it right away. But I always figured that’s just how the surface behaves when it’s not fully dry yet. If it bothers you, maybe just give it a minute before you start chopping and see if that changes anything for you.
I’d just assume it’s not included and grab one when you order. That’s what I did with mine, and I’m glad I didn’t wait, because there was nothing but the camera and mounts in the box. For snorkeling especially you’ll want a decent card right away so you’re not stuck deleting stuff as you go.
Mine’s in a shady corner too and the solar barely keeps up, so I just top it off with USB every few days.
The texture question is probably more about the adhesive than the sticker itself. I put mine on a tablet that has a bit of a rougher plastic back and it’s held up fine for a couple months now. It’s really small, so it just looks like a little dot from a distance. I wouldn’t overthink the placement too much.
I think it depends a lot on what you’re doing while wearing it. I’ve had mine on for full shifts at work where I’m mostly standing behind a counter, and it stays fine. But if I’m actually moving around a lot, walking outside in the heat, doing stairs, stuff like that, yeah it definitely gets warmer. That’s just how it goes with any kind of support like this though. It’s not like it’s actively heating up, it’s just your own body heat getting trapped in there.
I wouldn’t call it uncomfortable, more like noticeable. I can feel it when I take it off at the end of the day, like my knee was in a cozy blanket all day or something. To me that’s kind of the tradeoff for the support. If it was completely breathable and cool all day, I’d probably wonder if it was actually doing anything.

Once I got the mask seated right and gave it a proper yank, it cleared the thing on the first go. And that’s the part that changed my mind for me. It’s not magic, but it’s forgiving enough that even a clumsy person like me can figure it out with a little practice.
I keep it in the kitchen drawer now. My kid is at the age where she shoves everything in her mouth and I like having something that doesn’t rely on me remembering the exact right hand position while panicking. I’d rather have it and never need it than need it and not have it. Still, I’d say practice with it once before you actually need it, because the first time you use it shouldn’t be the real thing.
I actually think the bucket setup works better than people expect, as long as you’re not trying to do a marathon cleaning session. I’ve pulled from a 5 gallon bucket plenty of times when I wanted to wash my patio furniture without hauling the hose around the side of the house. The pressure does drop a bit compared to hooking it straight to a hose, but it’s still way stronger than just splashing water from a bucket with a sponge or something.
The only thing I’d mention is that you gotta keep an eye on the water level and maybe top it off if you’re doing something bigger. Once it gets really low, the suction starts sucking air and you lose that steady stream. But for quick stuff like knocking mud off garden tools or giving outdoor cushions a rinse, it’s totally fine. I wouldn’t overthink it.
I’ve had mine plugged into an unheated shed for about two months now and it’s still running fine. The cold didn’t seem to bother it, but I do think the sheer amount of clutter in there blocked the sound from reaching the corners. It’s probably doing something, but I wouldn’t rely on it as the only thing keeping mice out of a space like that.
I think it’s still fine to run, just don’t expect magic. The ice is the first thing to give up when the air’s heavy, so I usually skip it and just enjoy the breeze. It’s basically a nice desk fan with extra steps on those days, but that’s okay with me.
I think it could work if you’re sitting right next to it, but I wouldn’t expect much more than a gentle breeze. I was looking at these for commuting too, but 4 hours seems like it’d barely get me through a full day of errands. Still trying to decide if that’s enough or if I should wait for a newer version.
I keep seeing people say it’s fine, but I’m a bit paranoid about that too. I’d probably end up placing it behind my desk or something and then the remote would be useless.
I mean, it’s a mat sitting on the floor, so some kind of mark or residue is kind of bound to happen over time. Doesn’t really bother me that much personally.
Honestly, I feel like it depends a bit on the weather too. If you get a cloudy week, even a few hours of direct sun might not be enough to keep the battery topped up long term. But for normal use, a couple hours seems to handle the nightly run fine.
I’ve tried both together for a bit and honestly I’m still not totally sure if the tape adds that much when the humidifier is already doing its thing. Maybe it helps keep the moisture in better if your mouth is closed, but I kind of gave up after a few nights because it felt like extra hassle for something I wasn’t noticing a huge difference with.
Honestly I’d just plug it in and forget about it. USB ports on TVs are usually designed for that kind of thing, so it’s not like you’re going to fry anything. I’ve had mine running that way for a couple weeks now and it’s been totally fine.
I haven’t tested mine on anything serious either but I did let my brother try it on a piece of apple once and it definitely sucked it up into the chamber no problem. Not totally sure how that translates to a real blockage but it wasn’t weak at all.
I haven’t tested mine in heavy shade, but it gets dappled sun for maybe half the day and I haven’t had the battery die on me yet. I think it drains a bit faster on cloudy stretches, but it usually catches back up when the sun hits it more directly. Not totally sure how it would do in deeper afternoon shade though.
Huh, I’ve been wondering the same thing about my old pickup. It’s got single stage paint that’s kind of faded on the hood. I saw a video where someone used it on an old red car and it looked alright, but I’m curious how much elbow grease you’d actually need for oxidation compared to just using a regular polish.
