I actually think the country rules matter less than people make out. I’ve flown with the same little power bank to a few different places and never once looked up the local rules, just the airline’s page when I booked. It’s been fine every time, so I’m not convinced it’s this big country-by-country puzzle.
I actually don’t think you need a full week to know. My neck felt off for maybe three nights and then it clicked, so if it still feels wrong after that I’d probably try a different height. Not every pillow works for every person.
I actually got one for the corner of my room mostly to hide my laundry pile, and it did make the space feel calmer even if the street noise was still there. For me the visual part matters more than I expected, like my brain relaxes a bit when I can’t see the window all lit up. It’s not a magic fix, but I don’t regret buying it.
I only use mine about once a week too and it’s been fine. I keep it in the bathroom drawer, grab it Sunday nights, quick pass around each nostril, done. Charge lasts me weeks that way. The part I actually like is not having to aim at individual hairs like I did with scissors. You just sort of move it around in a circle and it catches whatever’s there. That said, if you’re literally sprinting out the door with one hair sticking out, scissors are still going to be faster because there’s no turning on, no rinsing after. The MrBold wins for me on the weekly tidy up, not the emergency single hair situation.
I actually do the opposite and look at each morning on its own. Mine dropped after a restless night last week and I felt off all day, so that one reading matched how I felt. If I wake up feeling fine though, I just move on with my day.
I get a little dust too, so I don’t think it’s just you. But I wouldn’t say that’s automatically how it’s supposed to be either, since some people here clearly get zero mess. Could just depend on the person’s nails.
I only have one of these and I’ve never really thought about strapping a second one on, but I did wonder the same thing before I bought it. From what I can tell, the shape kind of wraps toward one side, so I just do my left shoulder during my lunch break and the right one later while watching TV. Not ideal if you want both done at the same time, but it still beats not using anything at all.
Mine actually read pretty steady during my runs, so the lag might not be a universal thing. I’ve had mine about three weeks and my numbers matched my old watch closely enough. It does slip a bit if my hands get sweaty though.
I actually asked the same thing before I got mine because the outlet part confused me too. From what I understand, it only does its thing while your body is touching it, so there isn’t much point leaving it plugged in when you’re not using it. It’s not like it holds a charge or anything. I’ve been unplugging mine between uses mostly out of habit and it’s been fine. The bigger thing I’d pay attention to is whether your outlet is actually grounded, because if it isn’t, the whole setup kind of doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to. I had to check mine with one of those little tester things after realizing one of our outlets wasn’t grounded at all. Not trying to make it sound complicated, it’s just the one part that actually matters here.
I run mine for the full 15 minutes and the warmth stays pretty even the whole time, so what you’re describing sounds a bit different from my experience. Maybe it varies unit to unit. If lowering it keeps you comfortable, that seems like the easy fix anyway.
I keep mine plugged into the hallway outlet right outside my bathroom door and just aim it in through the doorway while I’m getting ready. That way it’s not sitting in the steam at all and my bathroom still warms up nicely. Ten minutes in the actual bathroom would probably be fine too, but that’s just what I do.
I don’t buy that moving it around is a waste of time, mostly because I had the opposite experience with my setup. When I first got an indoor antenna a couple years back I plopped it on the little table next to the couch because that’s where the cable reached, scanned, and got maybe a dozen channels. Most of them looked fine so I figured that was just my area. A few weeks later I was messing with the room layout anyway and moved the antenna up onto a bookshelf closer to the ceiling, mostly to get it out of the way, and rescanned just to see. Ended up pulling in a handful of extras I’d never gotten before, including one local station I actually wanted. Nothing else changed, same TV, same cable, same day basically.
So for me the rescanning part definitely wasn’t pointless, it was the whole reason I found those channels. That said I don’t think you need to go wild with it. I tried a couple other spots after that and honestly they were all pretty similar to the bookshelf, so I stopped fiddling and just left it. My take is the first move or two can genuinely matter, especially if the thing is sitting low or buried behind stuff, but after that you’re probably just chasing small differences. You’re not doing anything wrong, indoor antennas are just kind of fussy that way depending on where you are.
I’ve used mine on my car’s cloth seats a couple times and they came out fine. Just keep the nozzle moving so you don’t soak one spot. It lifted some pretty gross coffee stains that I figured were permanent. The dashboard was easy too, no issues there.
Mine still has a faint crease too and I’ve had it since spring. It’s way less noticeable now than it was at first though, and honestly once the movie starts I forget about it. Bright scenes are the only time I catch it.
I fly mine without the phone half the time, just the controller. You lose the live view and camera settings, but basic flying works fine. I usually only hook up my phone when I actually want footage.
I actually touch mine up mid-job pretty often and it’s been fine. Two or three swipes whenever the saw starts feeling slow, then right back to cutting. I’ve done that for months now and the chain still cuts straight, so I’m not buying the whole “you’ll ruin it” thing.
Mine stays in a backpack pocket all day at work and connects to Find My every time I check. Never had it drop off just from being inside the bag. So you should be good.
I went from a Pixel to an iPhone last spring and my Herz history was all there when I logged in. The app itself looked a little different but the readings were fine. I did export a PDF before switching just in case though, mostly because I keep those for my doctor.
My mom is 77 and the biggest thing for her was actually the cleanup, not the trimming itself. She used to have clippings all over the bathroom floor and now they just collect in the little chamber, which she loves. Her nails are pretty normal too and it handles them fine.
I usually just walk over to the unit if it’s more than a room away. The remote is handy when I’m right there but I don’t count on it from across the place.
I keep a pair of earbuds in my bag for bus rides, so muting has never really come up for me. The buttons being right on the front is handy enough that I’d probably just tap away if I needed quiet though.
I’m a lefty and I just hold mine with my right hand for the steady part and guide with my left. Feels weird at first but you get used to swapping roles. Doing one side of the chain lefty and the other righty also helped me keep the angle even.
The species ID is a nice extra but I don’t think it’s the whole point of the thing, and people in here seem to be treating it like the feeder is useless without it. Half the fun for me would be seeing a bird pop up on the camera and then figuring out what it is myself, maybe with a cheap field guide or just asking in a bird group. That’s kind of the hobby part, right? Paying every month so an app can name it takes some of that away. I’d probably run it without the sub for a while and see if I actually miss having the name handed to me. If I do, fine, sign up then. But buying it assuming the ID is mandatory feels backwards to me. The camera and alerts are the actual product.
