Had a similar thing happen driving through the Mont Blanc tunnel last summer. The map froze on the entrance for about ten minutes, then picked up again once we were out. What surprised me was that it actually kept counting down the distance to the exit while the screen sat there frozen. Turned out the navigation had cached the route before we went in, so it was still tracking where we were even without a signal. The screen just looked stuck because it wasn’t updating the map tiles. I’ve noticed the same thing in parking garages since then. The little arrow stops moving but the voice guidance keeps going for a bit. Not sure if that’s just how my phone handles it or if it’s standard, but it’s been reliable enough that I stopped paying attention to it. The only time it really threw me off was in a tunnel with a couple of exits close together, and I had to guess which one to take. Ended up fine, but I did glance at the signs instead of the screen.
I don’t think there’s any actual low latency mode on these. Bluetooth 5.4 helps, but it’s not the same as a dedicated gaming mode. If lag really bothers you in games, wired is still the safer bet.
Mine didn’t shut off the one time it mattered. It fell against a laundry basket and stayed on until I picked it up. Maybe it was stuck at an angle, but it wasn’t upright and it was still running.
Shaking only works for a while. Once you get that greasy buildup it needs a proper wipe, I use a dry cloth on mine and it comes off fine. I’ve been cleaning mine about once a month for a year and the grid still looks good.
I roll around plenty and it’s been fine for me. The shape doesn’t lock you into one spot like it looks like it would. Some nights I wake up on my back and it’s still comfortable.
The adapter takes over the port, so your phone won’t charge through it once it’s plugged in. That part is pretty normal. I just top mine up before I leave the house and it’s been fine for my short drives.
I’ve fit 5 button-downs in mine but they need a little space between them or the middle ones stay damp. For a small load like yours it should be fine.
I don’t think the phone is a dealbreaker like some folks make it out to be. I fly mine with just the remote more often than not and it’s fine for simple stuff. The camera thing is a separate deal, but for just getting up in the air the controller does the job.
Cordless isn’t the fix for fine lines, the tip is. I’ve got a cheap corded one with a sharp point and it does small letters better than my buddy’s cordless with the stock tip. If your old one takes different bits, try a finer one before spending anything.
I’ve had mine for about four months and the office thing never really clicked for me, but not for the reason you’d think. The bulk is fine. What got me was the heat. Ten minutes in and my neck starts sweating, which is not a great look under a collared shirt in a shared office. So now it lives in my bag and I use it on the train home instead, which honestly works better anyway since I’m not trying to type at the same time. If your office runs cold it might be a non issue. Otherwise I’d think of it more as something for breaks or the commute than something you wear through a full workday. It does what it says though, no complaints there.
Two weeks isn’t much time with it. I’m a lefty and mine felt off for closer to a month before my hands just sorted it out on their own.
I keep mine in a lower outlet near the floor and it’s been fine for the garage. The coverage is small enough that I figured the height wouldn’t matter much anyway. As long as nothing is crammed right in front of it, you should be good.
I think the size concern gets overblown with these compact trimmers. The MrBold Pro is small enough that even with smaller hands you’re not stretching to reach the button or anything. I found the balance to be the bigger factor than pure grip texture. Because it’s lightweight up top, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to tip out of your fingers when you’re moving it around.
What actually took me a bit was getting used to holding it more like a pen than a razor. Once I stopped gripping it tight and just let it rest between my fingers, it felt secure enough. The one-button operation helps too since you’re not fiddling with switches while trying to keep it steady.
I wouldn’t overthink the slipping part. Just give it a couple of passes near your nose and you’ll get the feel for where your hand wants to sit.
The bolt pattern on brush cutter heads has been pretty consistent for years, so I would be surprised if you ran into a real problem. My unit is a bit of a Frankenstein from the late 90s and the VultrioX sat down flush without needing any extra parts or fiddling. I would just make sure the shaft size matches up before you pay for shipping.
I swapped my old oil radiator for one of these last winter and the difference is pretty much what you’d expect. The radiator gives you that slow, even heat that just sits in the room. The CoolCove is more direct. You feel it when you’re sitting near it, but it doesn’t soak the whole space the same way.
For an office where you’re at a desk all day, that’s fine. I actually prefer it because I’m not waiting 20 minutes for the room to warm up. It’s more like having a warm spot wherever you’re sitting.
The cooling side is what sold me though. I’d say if you’re mainly looking for a heater to replace your old one, it works, just don’t expect the same kind of ambient warmth across the whole room. It’s a different feel.
Outdoor mode does make voices stand out better, but nobody should expect it to erase wind completely. My dad uses his when he’s out gardening on fairly open days and the main difference is that speech stays clearer even when the breeze picks up. He still hears some rustling and puffing if it gets gusty, but it doesn’t wash out the person talking to him like it did before he had them.
I think what matters is how close the speaker is. If someone is a few feet away, the wind is just background. If you’re trying to hear from across the park, then yeah, the breeze is going to mess with things no matter what setting you use. For normal walking and talking situations, it holds up fine. I wouldn’t let a little weather stop me from trying them.
The first time is the slowest because you’re figuring out the app connection. After a couple flights it becomes muscle memory. I can go from zipped bag to airborne in maybe three minutes now, and that’s taking my time. The phone pairing is just part of the routine, not a hassle once you’ve done it a few times.
The chirps are normal, mine has done that since day one and it’s still working fine. I actually think it’s a decent compromise because the short beeps are enough to get my attention without the full blast going off right away. I’ll take that over the old detector that sounded like a fire truck every time I burned some toast.
I’d say go for it, but leave the ladder out of it. I’ve used mine on the ground for the lower half and it’s fine one-handed, but up high you’re fighting the hose and trying to hold on at the same time. Not worth the wobble. Just do the top with a pole or whatever you can reach from a window.
I wouldnt use it on a puppy under six months. Their brains are still figuring out what barking even does, and an ultrasonic blast might just confuse them more than teach them. My older dog picked it up fine, but if I had started her that young I think it wouldve backfired.
I actually think the timing question depends more on what you’re trying to fix. With the panel I felt like I needed longer sessions to notice anything, but the mask seems to work faster per session for the face specifically. Took me about six weeks of consistent use before I saw a real difference in texture.
