I mainly care if it stops the sliding, and the silicone grips seem to be the whole point there. A little stiffness when I bend down is fine if the thing actually stays on my leg. My old sleeve ended up around my ankle half the time.
Mine barely changes at all once you’re actually spraying something. I messed with the dial for like ten minutes on my car and it felt basically the same from one end to the other. Cool looking nozzle, but I wouldn’t buy it expecting two totally different tools in one.
I actually had to move mine to my non-dominant hand because the readings were kinda off on my dominant one, guess all the typing and moving messes with it. Finger-wise I started on my ring finger but it was too loose, so now it lives on my middle finger and that’s been way more consistent. So yeah, hand and finger can matter more than people admit.
Mine actually stays in the trunk now, which I didn’t expect. It’s less about raw pressure and more that I’ll actually use it for a quick rinse when I’d never bother dragging the hose out. Battery is the tradeoff though, I’ve had it die halfway through a wash more than once.
The way I see it, the subscription is mostly for convenience more than anything. If you’re the type who wants to glance at your phone and immediately know what just landed on the feeder, it’s worth something. But if you’re okay with a bit of extra effort, you can absolutely get by without it. I’ve seen setups where people just screenshot the bird and use a free ID app after the fact, and honestly that works fine for most common species. The camera and alerts are the core of the product, and those keep working either way. So it kind of depends on whether you value the instant name pop-up enough to pay monthly for it. For me that would get old fast, but I know some people really enjoy that little moment of seeing the species show up automatically. Different strokes I guess.
I’d look at your current showerhead first, not the arm. When I swapped mine out in my last place, the Glokore went on fine but the issue was that my old head had a weird built in swivel thing, so the new one sat kind of crooked once it was tight. Still worked, no leaks, but it wasn’t perfectly straight and that bugged me more than it probably should have. Threads matched up no problem though. I didn’t need any adapter and I’m pretty sure my building is just the usual cheap apartment setup. The tape it comes with helps but you have to wrap it the right direction or it just peels off when you screw it on, which I learned the annoying way. So I guess my answer is the arm itself probably isn’t the thing to worry about. It’s more about how the old head comes off and whether the new one ends up sitting flush.
I feel like the smaller languages are kind of a gamble with these things. You see the big number on the box and assume it covers everything, but the quality can drop off fast once you get past the usual suspects. I’d want to see the actual list before committing, because “supported” doesn’t always mean it’s actually good to use.
I’ll throw in my experience since I was in the same spot last year. Bought one mostly because I was curious and honestly it’s been fine for the regular stuff around the house. But the one thing nobody mentions is how different the cutting feel is. You don’t get that same solid whack against thick weeds like you do with a blade, it’s more of a shredding action. Took me a few sessions to get used to it, but I don’t miss sharpening blades at all.
I usually top mine off before longer sessions but there have been plenty of days where I just dumped whatever was left in my water glass in there and called it good. The airflow still feels the same to me, it just runs out way sooner obviously. I think as long as you’re not expecting the full 8 hours from a partial tank, it’s not a big deal.
I’ve run mine on a fairly thick rug in the spare room for a couple of months now and it’s been totally fine. Airflow still feels strong and the room temps out the same as when it was on the hardwood in my office. I think the whole carpet worry is a bit overblown for this unit.
If you’re the type who hates fiddling with stuff, the setup time really isn’t the issue. The whole thing is pretty much unfold, connect your phone, and go. The only time I ever get slowed down is when I forget to actually charge the battery beforehand, which is a me problem, not a drone problem.
Squirrels are kind of a coin flip with these things honestly. Mine is more about the cats too, but I did notice the feeder visits dropped a bit when I angled it towards the tree line. The little guys still show up, just less bold about it. If the feeder is the main target, I’d probably try it and see.
The jaw thing is a legit concern for the first few nights, but it’s not like it’s forcing your face into a weird position forever. I’m a side sleeper and I never had it slip out, even on nights I was tossing around a lot. It’s more about getting the mold right than anything else.
Mine sits on a shelf in a hallway and honestly it does fine for most channels, so I wouldnt stress the window thing too much.
I like mine for the shower and sink area, but for mirrors I always end up grabbing a microfiber cloth and regular spray anyway. The steam just makes me feel like I need to do an extra pass to get it streak-free, so it kind of defeats the purpose for me.
I get why the auto shutoff is appealing, but honestly the timer thing never bothered me much because I’m usually home when I run mine. I actually like that I can just set it and walk away without worrying about remembering to turn it off, but I also never had a big issue with the old one.
I’ve had the opposite experience. Mine’s been through a lot of salmon and curry paste and it still smells like nothing after a quick rinse. Maybe I got lucky with the coating, but I really haven’t noticed any ghost odors.
I think it’s one of those tools where you just have to try it on your own chains and see. I’ve seen people get decent results across different pitches, but I also feel like it’s not a one-size-fits-all magic thing. If you’ve got a couple of saws, maybe grab one and test it on both before assuming it’ll be perfect.
I’m not gonna pretend I’ve done a full scientific test with it, but I have used mine with a plastic bucket more times than I’d like to admit. The self-suction thing does work, like it will pull the water up, but the flow feels a bit lazier than when I hook it up to a proper hose. Still, for a quick car rinse or spraying down some patio furniture, it’s totally fine. I think people expect it to hit like a full-size pressure washer and that’s just not what this is.
The one thing I noticed is that you sort of have to manage the bucket placement a bit. If the bucket is sitting too low or the water level gets low, the spray gets a little sputtery. I just top the bucket off or tilt it a bit and it’s fine. I wouldn’t want to wash a whole muddy truck with just a bucket, but for a normal car that’s just dusty or has some bird droppings, it gets the job done. I’ve also used it just to wet down some plants and rinse off the balcony, and honestly it’s nice not to have to drag the hose around for that stuff.
I say go for it if you’re not expecting heavy duty power. It’s more about convenience than raw strength. You’re not gonna be blasting off years of grime, but for quick maintenance it’s pretty handy.
I’d give it a shot on the dash first honestly. I know the texture thing seems like it’d be a problem but mine has held on my car’s slightly bumpy surface for a couple months now without budging. Worst case you move it to the windshield later, but I think people assume it needs glass when it really doesn’t.
