I just use tap water in mine and it’s fine for a desk. The ice thing seems like more effort than it’s worth for a few minutes of slightly cooler air. If you’re sitting right next to it, the water alone does the job.

Adding games via USB was simple enough for me. The save stuff I haven’t really bothered to figure out, just kind of roll with whatever works.

I think it’s pretty easy to wipe down. The outside is just smooth plastic, so buildup on the head itself isn’t really an issue. The internal filter is the part that needs replacing eventually, but that’s just swapping a cartridge, not scrubbing anything. I wouldn’t call it more hassle than a normal one.

I’d just try it with the brush attachment and see what happens. That’s what I usually do on fabric and it grabs enough for a quick clean.

I think people overthink this. It worked fine on my hood that had been sitting in the sun for years, looked way better after. Not showroom perfect but it’s not supposed to be.

I figure it probably works fine either way since it’s passive, but I’d lean toward putting it on the outside just in case the case blocks anything. Thick cases can be pretty dense, so who knows if it matters.
