I finally used my Dustaclean to clean my car seats and it seemed to do okay with crumbs and dust, but I wasn’t sure about the pet hair. I have a short-haired dog and there’s always some stuck in the fabric. Has anyone tried it on car upholstery and did it actually get the hair out or just push it around? I’m not expecting miracles, just curious if it works well enough for quick touch-ups.

I’ve used mine on my car seats too and it does pull up short hair alright, but I found it works way better if I go over the spot a couple times from different angles. The brush attachment helps to lift it a bit. Not a miracle worker but for a quick touch up between full cleanings it’s fine.

I think it depends on what kind of fabric your seats are. On cloth it seems to grab the hair okay, but on those smoother surfaces it just kind of pushes it into a pile.

I got one mostly for car crumbs and dust too, but it actually handles the short dog hair okay for a quick pass. It won’t get every last hair like a full-size shop vac, but it definitely grabs more than it pushes around for me. I’d say it’s fine for touch-ups between proper cleanings.

I tried it on my car seats and it picked up some hair but not all of it. Kind of depends on how deep it’s stuck I guess.

I think if you’re just doing a quick pass between real cleanings it does a decent job. I usually hit the seats with the brush attachment first to loosen stuff up and then go over it again, that seems to help a bit. Not totally sure it gets everything, but for a little handheld it’s fine for how often I use it.

I’ve got a short-haired dog too and I think it does a decent enough job for a once over. Not gonna pull out every last hair but it gets the surface layer off fine for me.

I’d guess it depends how picky you are. It probably flicks some hair around if the fabric is rough. Fine for a quick once-over but I wouldn’t count on it for a deep clean.

I’d just try it with the brush attachment and see what happens. That’s what I usually do on fabric and it grabs enough for a quick clean.

Not sure why everyone expects a handheld to pull hair out of deep fabric. It’s a quick pass tool, not a detailer.

I gave mine a shot on my car seats and it grabbed the loose stuff fine. The hairs that were really woven in there still needed a bit more work though. For a quick tidy up between washes it’s good enough for me.

Seems like it either works for you or it doesn’t. I wouldn’t expect much from something that small on fabric that’s been sat on for a while.

I think people overthink it a bit. For a quick pass it grabs enough hair to make the seats look cleaner, which is all I really care about. I usually just give it a once-over with the brush head and call it good.

Mine grabs hair off my couch just fine. I’d guess the car seats wouldn’t be much different.

Depends how deep your seats are. If the hair is just sitting on top, it’ll grab it. If it’s ground in there from weeks of driving, that brush attachment isn’t going to dig it out.
