I usually take the free slot first and just mention it to whoever’s closest, like a quick heads up rather than a whole conversation. If it’s full, I’ve had good luck asking if anyone’s done charging soon, people are usually fine about it in hostels. Two nights is short enough that being friendly goes a long way.
I usually just pull up the return page on my phone while I’m standing in the store or on the couch, and if I can’t find it in like 30 seconds I assume it’s a hassle. That’s saved me a couple times because the info was buried somewhere weird. If it’s easy to find, that’s usually a decent sign the brand isn’t trying to trap you.
I actually think rotating the smell is worth trying, even if it’s just switching between two different treats. My cat definitely perks up more when the scent itself changes, not just the location. It’s not a magic fix forever, but it bought me a few extra weeks of interest.
I’d say the whole “just give it time” thing gets pushed too hard. Mine actually did better once I stopped waiting around and just went about my normal routine, noise and all. She came out way faster than when I was tiptoeing around trying not to bother her.
I actually think wrist data is closer than people give it credit for. Mine lines up pretty well with how I feel in the morning, even if the exact stage labels aren’t perfect. My husband’s chest strap gives him different numbers too, so I don’t think either one is the final word.
I actually sat way off to the side during an outdoor movie night with mine and the picture still looked fine to me. Wasn’t washed out like I expected. Maybe not perfectly bright at the extreme edge but totally watchable.
Sofa cushions are exactly where I stopped using the brush, honestly. It kept dragging and left the fabric looking roughed up, so now I only use it on the car seats and leave the cushions to the crevice tool. Maybe my cushions are just too soft for it.
I’ve rescanned mine a bunch of times in different spots and it honestly didn’t change much. The channels I get are pretty much the same no matter where I put it. It’s probably more about where you live than where the antenna sits.
I actually prefer not having my phone plugged in all the time, so losing that port wasn’t a downside for me. I just toss my phone on a vent mount and plug it into a charger when I need juice. The adapter living in that USB slot permanently is kind of the whole point.
I’ve used mine on my car seats a couple times and they came out okay, just don’t hold it in one spot. The fabric dried fine and didn’t feel stiff or anything. I did go over it with a towel right after, which helped a lot.
I actually keep mine on carpet and mostly use it for weight, which has been fine for me. The body fat stuff I don’t count on much anyway, so the surface thing doesn’t bug me. If you want the full scan numbers to line up, that’s a different story.
I’d still grab one if the price is right, but I wouldn’t count on it as your main heat source in an apartment. It’s more of a “make the room I’m sitting in comfortable” kind of thing for winter. If you already have regular heating, it’s a nice extra, not a replacement.
I actually use my phone less than I thought I would. I mostly just fly with the remote and only pull out the phone if I want to grab a picture. Basic flying works fine without it.
I noticed the same kind of thing on my living room setup, but it was mostly the apps themselves loading slowly rather than the remote. Once everything was open and running, scrolling felt fine. What helped me was just giving it a minute after turning it on instead of jumping straight into an app. The first bit always feels a little stiff, then it settles down. So it might not be the remote at all, just the stick catching up in the background. I wouldn’t stress too much about it since it’s a pretty common thing with these little devices, and mine has been totally fine for casual watching. If it’s still bugging you after a while, maybe a restart here and there, but otherwise it’s just how these things go sometimes.
I keep mine in a little card wallet that holds maybe six cards, and it slid right in without making the whole thing feel stuffed. Been carrying it a couple months now and the wallet still folds flat. So as long as you’ve got room for one more card, it should be fine.
Mine actually seems to work better outside than in. I had it in the house first and half the time he’d ignore it, but out on the deck it gets his attention almost every time. The open space probably helps the sound carry instead of getting swallowed up.
My dad actually keeps a pair in his truck and I borrowed them for a week of errands last summer. What surprised me was how much they helped with that hot shimmer coming off the asphalt on the highway. I never really thought about that kind of glare until I drove with them, and then took them off at a light and went oh, that’s what was bugging my eyes. It wasn’t like everything got darker in a bad way either, it just felt calmer. I ended up getting my own after that, mostly for the drive to my sister’s place since it’s a straight shot into the sun for a good stretch. They live in my glovebox now. Not saying they’re magic or anything, but for plain daytime driving I’ve been happy with mine.
The self-test doesn’t really tell you if the sensor is wearing out, in my experience. Mine kept passing every test right up until the CO readings started drifting weirdly low, and that’s when I swapped it. So I’d say pay more attention to the numbers on the screen than the beep test.
I don’t think a fan hum is just something you have to accept. My sister has one of those portable dryers and hers runs pretty much silent, so if yours is humming it might be worth checking that it’s sitting flat on the floor. Could just be vibration against whatever surface it’s on.
I actually still keep a separate board for raw chicken even with the titanium one. Veggies and bread go on the Vanotium, chicken gets the cheap plastic one that I can toss when it gets gross. Wiping it down is fast, but old habits are hard to break I guess.
The adjustment is not just a label, it does make a real difference in how the water comes out. I’ve been using mine for a couple months and I can go from a soft sprinkle for the flower beds to a decent focused stream for rinsing off the deck chairs. It’s not going to blast years of grime off a driveway, but for everyday stuff around the yard it’s plenty.
Mine reaches my upper back fine when I have it sitting a little lower, so that might just be how it’s meant to fit. The trapezius area is where I feel it most actually. If it slides down too far though, I just shift it back up a bit.
Mine is on my nightstand and I still hear that low fan hum once the house goes quiet. Doesn’t bug me, but I get why total silence people would notice it more at night.
I’ve had mine out for about a month and the birds honestly don’t seem phased by it at all. They still hop around the feeder like nothing is there. I kind of figured that setting is more for the four legged visitors anyway.
